Unfortunately, the great majority of heavy metal bands today are almost completely stripped of the funky, bluesy grooves that were so dominant in Black Sabbath's music of this period.
From interviews and Ozzy's autobiography, it seems to boil down to this: Tony and Geezer both say that Ozzy wrote the lyrics Tony says: Geezer and Ozzy were running around a park stoned, and saw fairies Geezer says: It was about skinheads Ozzy says: I don't know what it's about, but they tell me I wrote it 🤣
Yeah, it is about skinheads they are telling stories. They had a run in with skinheads after a show and when they were about to fight the skinheads ran away. And Ozzie wrote a song
There have been so many incarnations and reincarnations of the band through the decades. All worthy in their own right with an immense catalog of amazing works. I have my favorite singers and songs, but also a deep appreciation for everything they released.
You need to check out the whole album. It's considered to be the first heavy metal album and it usually tops the list of greatest metal albums. Hand of Doom has an amazing bass line.
Cheech: And now it's time to play "Let's Make A Dope Deal"-The show where small time dealers try to parlay their stash so that they can become big-time pushers. And here is our first guest, a former Harvard professor of philosophy, a holder of a PhD., an MA, a BA, and he's a BMF besides, Bob Bitchin. How do you feel Bob?" Chong: Bitchin! Cheech: Did you hear that folks? Bob, what made you drop out? Chong: Well, my mother thinks it was the four hundred acid trips I took; but that wasn't it, man. One day, I played a Black Sabbath record at 78rpm. Cheech: Yes? Chong: I saw God, man.
When you have a bad day get in your car head anywhere and put this on turn the volume up as loud as you can stand and by the end of this song you will feel like anything is possible,
I have been a bit of a metal fan since the days of Sabbath...considered by many the first metal band. The group that convinced me there was some good modern metal was Jinjer. The song that revolutionized my opinion was Jinjer - "Pisces". It is a radical step from what you have been doing. However, if you see/listen to it (with original video) you will never be the same again. Whether you like it or not...i guarantee
Absolutely I'll hit that click button anytime. You have been born again. And borne again is another black Sabbath album. You are a chosen one. Not everybody has the understanding of this music. Eather they love it or hate it.
from an older fart. I love when young muscians and artist do reactions. Its easy to see who really gets into the music. One of the best!!! Keep it up. !!!!
Such a groovy track. I love the sound of a classic Laney amp when it's cranked. Iomi used (uses?) a Gibson SG into what I think is a 30 watt Laney amp, though I can't remember which model. I also think he used a treble booster pedal. At some point, I'd suggest listening to Heaven and Hell by them. Dio took over lead vocals when Ozzy left, and his vocals are very different though, in my opinion, equally as good. Perhaps listen to a few more early Sabbath songs before switching to the Dio stuff, but I know you'll like it.
That is Ozzy Osbourne Singing. Tony Iomi lead Guitars, Geezer butler on bass, on the guy kicking ass on the drums is Bill Ward. Okay , here is the lowdown on this song. I read the interview with Ozzy about this song, in England , Fairie is a word they use to describe a gay man. Back in the day a lot of the punk and new wave bands dressed a little different often with these crazy boots. Many happened to be gay. One night out riding in the car, Limo, there were a bunch of these guys on the streets, Ozzy observed and wrote this song. Truth. Great reaction again. You have become a rock and roll girl. Be Well.
Hey baby girl it is three guys making the music and Ozzy singing what else do they need but if you need to know it is Geezer Butler on base one of the greatest bass players of all-time Bill Ward on drums killing it and Tommy Iommi on the guitar missing half of his index finger or a third of it anyway he plays with a rubber implant stub replacement that's why is quartz and so freaking heavy they're the Godfathers of metal and one of the best evah ya heard
Vocals: Ozzy Osbourne, Guitar: Tony Iommi, Bass: Terrence "Geezer" Butler, Drums: Mr. Bill Ward. All excellent musicians, legends, still performing, at least two, anyways, in their 70's! "Geezer" wrote most of the lyrics and Tony wrote a lot of the music, while Ozzy did ALL Vocals. Meaning that he came up with the phrasing, Melodies and harmonies, usually in studio. Thanks Scribe! How's that for an answer? :-)
Here are some other Black Sabbath songs to check out: "Black Sabbath", "The Wizard", "Paranoid", "Iron Man", "Sweet Leaf", "Children of the Grave", "Supernaut", "Snowblind", "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" ...
Glad to see you are doing BS and enjoying their sound. Some song suggestions: Sabbath bloody sabbath, a national acrobat, supernaut, Spiral architect. How they used violins in spiral architect is brilliant. Thank you for your channel. Love your reactions and thoughts.
Used to hear the beginning of sweet leaf backyards then almost die laughing! They got a lot of their hooks from listening to their parents Big Band stylings lol
You got this ... Black Sabbath is saying what not to do because they found out what is self destructive ... so ... if you really listen to all of their music you’ll see ... takes a while to get it ...
"Neon Knights" from Black Sabbath introduced Ronnie James Dio as the new lead vocalist and this was the first song on "Heaven and Hell" cir1980....I suggest you give it a review....I consider it one of the top 10 metal songs in history.
I been listening to Black Sabbath from the very beginning for over 50 years and never thought in a million years on seeing in 2019 a little sexy black girl so into them just jamming away! this just made my day! you keep on rocking little darling!
Great reaction as always ScribeCash. You really enjoy the music which makes your reactions so entertaining. Please react to Sabbath's Into the Void, Children of the grave and or Snow blind in the future. Thank you!
I'd suggest. Mob Rules, Children of The Sea or Neon Knights. Different vocalist. Ronnie James Dio. Additionally I would also suggest Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Symptom of the Universe. Into the void with Ozzy Osbourne on vocals. Their best song is probably Paranoid.
Scribe you seem to enjoy drums & guitar ❤ I would suggest Megadeth - holy wars & hanger 18 , Sepultura - Arise & beneath the remains , Dead embryonic Cells - Enjoy 😍 Best in Dark room and headphones
Poignant reaction - This album was a lucky capture in time. I felt your reaction and as always - you are immediately attractive to watch however I think you react as an old soul.
Yes, a War Pigs reaction would be great. A Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on lead vocal reaction re Neon Knights would be awesome as well. But if some heavy metal is showing interest for the lady to react to, how about Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden? "I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime . Reflecting on my past life, and it doesn't have much time. Cause at 5 o'clock they take me to the Gallows Pole. The sands of time for me are running low."
Geezer Butler; Bass Guitar
Bill Ward; Drums
Ozzy Osbourne; Vocals
Tony Iommi; Lead Guitar
BLACK SABBATH
Ronnie James Dio joined the band as a vocalist afterwards as well.
I'll never truly be able to break my association of Black Sabbath with dark, smokey rooms and blacklights. I saw it, I saw it with my own two eyes. ;)
Black girls rock it!! Back in highschool I was the only one wearing a Black Sabbath t-shirt hehe
ANYTHING SABBATH TOUCHES TURNS TO GOLD.WORD.
If only Tony Iommi could see you jammin to his guitar! I think he'd really dig it! 😊🤟
This is heavy metal, and Black Sabbath are the godfathers
It's Heavy Rock, Sabbath may have created Heavy Metal out of this but at the time they didn't know that.
Well said man.
Unfortunately, the great majority of heavy metal bands today are almost completely stripped of the funky, bluesy grooves that were so dominant in Black Sabbath's music of this period.
I would call it heavy blues at the time
Birmingham Jazz :)
Her actions are priceless to this song. Damn she almost loves this song as much as I do
She's doing for the money FFS.
Geezer Butler's bass line is tremendous in this song!
From interviews and Ozzy's autobiography, it seems to boil down to this:

Yeah, it is about skinheads they are telling stories. They had a run in with skinheads after a show and when they were about to fight the skinheads ran away. And Ozzie wrote a song
Lol "They tell me I wrote it." It's why we love Ozzy!
one of my fav Black sabbath tunes!! Thanks!
There have been so many incarnations and reincarnations of the band through the decades. All worthy in their own right with an immense catalog of amazing works. I have my favorite singers and songs, but also a deep appreciation for everything they released.
We need All early Sabbath. Give them the Zeppelin treatment. 19K
Geezer Butler/Bass and Bill Ward/Drums often laid down a groovy Jazz style rythym section that was badass with Tony Iommi’s guitar laid over the top
You need to check out the whole album. It's considered to be the first heavy metal album and it usually tops the list of greatest metal albums. Hand of Doom has an amazing bass line.

Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, Bill Ward on drums and the legendary Ozzy Osbourne on vocals. The whole Paranoid album ROCKS!
Can you do Sabbath song Into The Void. You will be groovin so hard probably only see top of your head from headbangin
I second that, as a 55 year old metal head!
Soundgarden does a great cover of it
The drumming on this is gorgeous.
War Pigs. Studio 1st. Then live in Paris. Can't wait for you to see Bill Ward.
Yeah, do both. They never did it better than the Paris show.
Then just for a lark, do Cake's version....hehe

Sweetleaf is a good one N.I.B., Iron Man , Paranoid, All good!!
Heaven n Hell... Dio singing.. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻👍👍
Snowblind by Black Sabbath is worth a listen.
When you have a bad day get in your car head anywhere and put this on turn the volume up as loud as you can stand and by the end of this song you will feel like anything is possible,
OK NOW! Into The Void, Lord Of This World, The Wizard HERE WE GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE!
We need you to do The 1st Sabbath song on 1st album. Black Sabbath. Then do them all in order
I have been a bit of a metal fan since the days of Sabbath...considered by many the first metal band.
The group that convinced me there was some good modern metal was Jinjer. The song that revolutionized my opinion was Jinjer - "Pisces". It is a radical step from what you have been doing. Absolutely I'll hit that click button anytime. You have been born again. And borne again is another black Sabbath album. You are a chosen one. Not everybody has the understanding of this music. Eather they love it or hate it.
Greezer's bass is amazing.
Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Yep, that's the one. The epitome of where they were and what they were going through once the pressures and excess of success had engulfed them.
You see soul in every song.
from an older fart. I love when young muscians and artist do reactions. Its easy to see who really gets into the music.
One of the best!!! Keep it up. !!!!
Wow, thanks for the Deep Cut. Fairies wear boots and you gotta believe it.
We need Sabbath song Warning.
10 minutes of pure blues metal!
So heavy.
" smoking and tripping is all that you do"
4 original members are Ozzy on vocals, Toni Iomi on Lead Guitar, Geezer Butler on Bass and Bill Ward on drums
Snow Blind
You must hear the very next song - Sweet Leaf
Such a groovy track. I love the sound of a classic Laney amp when it's cranked. Iomi used (uses?) a Gibson SG into what I think is a 30 watt Laney amp, though I can't remember which model. I also think he used a treble booster pedal.

I think Black Sabbath have found a new band member, playing air guitar and air drums.
Another excellent reaction. You have music in your soul and it shows.. Love ya

Sabbath has alot of great stuff. Check out the song "Black Sabbath " it's the true beginning of Heavy Metal.
I don't know why, but after this song I always listen to sweet leaf!
Yes, a War Pigs reaction would be great. A Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio on lead vocal reaction re Neon Knights would be awesome as well.
