The platform launches 7 pods, then one remaining a second later. The planet's bays receive them all (almost) at the same time about 20s later. So I'd say higher throughput for the platform->planet direction depends on the number of bays on the planet. For the planet->platform direction, the number of platform's bays might affect it only when you can launch rockets faster than 20s.

You know what a good mod for space age could be? Remote controlled robots i mean the vanilla engineer could survive the planets, but he is just built different i think making space travel harder (longer perhaps needing the ship to be setup with life support, you to eat and drink to survive having planets actually orbit the star so travel times are longer / shorter depending on it with the times changing depending on how much you thrust, making some trips longer if you cant resupply fuel or deffend in full speed travel forcing you to go slower) . Having remote controlled robots that work off of batteries could be cool. It would mean you can be on a planet, but also switch to a different planet at a controll station those could have thier own game mechanic where they accumulate energy slowly, but use it fast meaning you get a limmited time controlling robots unless you have multiple controll stations setup (to make them more usefull they could come with more hp and thier own storage) Uses could also include remote defense or building.
Isn't this almost what construction robots already do? Dunno why Nilaus went back to Navis, from what I understand the map view should now let you do pretty much anything you can do in person not involving your inventory - you can even drive vehicles remotely. So in theory you could use tanks to kill worms while staying safely in orbit... So to get the rest of the way, just make it so a Spidertron that's dropped from the orbit will auto-deploy, and make it so that you can go to space while carrying stuff in inventory but have it count against the rocket weight limit.
IIUC, it's designed so you have to travel to the planet at least once to initially set up the base (basically the roboport networks) then after that you can do everything with robots if you want and never return. Nilaus likely went in person to show off the animation, but also because he likes having his character on the planet he'll be spending a lot of time at.
15:24 this isn’t a new problem really, it just looks different. Bots getting killed in combat is mitigated by toggling the roboport off when they might get damaged. There’s an option to disable logistics on vehicles while they’re moving - I wonder if it exists in SA? if moving during combat, drones don’t get much of a chance to repair the tank anyway.

You can send platform back to the nauvis and request stuff you need and get it to vulcanus. Ive seen people kill small demolishers with only poison capsule's. But to take medium/big uranium shells with upgrades and atleast uncommon quality are necessary
My cannon shells are doing 10 time less damage and I have the same research level on Physical projectile damage. How are you making so much damage ? Do I have to research something else?

lol my uranium cannon shell does not do damage... shot like 10times before dying, seems they update it somehow... No, its not explosive uranium, normal uranium cannon shells. Not even nukes kill a starting one now....
Uranium cannon shell on physical damage 7 deals more damage than railgun, making it most convenient and boomer thing to do. Yet i found an another interesting way, *spoiler maybe*: Demolisher has only 20/20% electricity resists, and it conveniently has tons of segments, which makes it perfect target for tesla turrets. If you align about 20 of them right, in a arc, so they all will hit at once, after about 5 shots they will kill small demolisher, and that is with tesla damage upgrades.
Nilaus has recommended setting them to peaceful instead of turning them off completely; I’m sure that’s part of why. I think he’s doing his best to be lest spolery here on UA-cam
Hello Nilaus. I've been following since the time Internet was black and white and I cannot wrap my head around you repeating constantly you are now a developer. And yet starting your video with a "Hello, Worm!". Were does the truth lye???
::puzzled_face:: I don't think I've once heard Nilaus say that he's a developer (not in the sense of being on the Wube payroll). Nilaus and some other content creators were given early release of Space Age, so that they can whet our insatiable appetites for Contentttt!! Now, if by developer you mean the creator who is able to generate the Master Classes, well, that is no more than plain fact.
@@Nilaus Interesting. I think there ought to be a fixed number of ticks of delay for signals between planets, in order to simulate speed-of-light delays!
21:26 I don't understand what he's explaining here. he doesn't have the resources to build the rocket with the uncommon parts, but he can build it? And why does he add the item group?
It's about lofting materials into orbit to construct the Science Hauler platform - if something is requested by placing a ghost, e.g. the asteroid catcher, it will only arrive as part of a *full rocket stack* of such items, unless you set up the custom loads that Nilaus does after 21:40. There's enough on the Nauvis surface to make the platform already, and this saves waiting for a full rocket stack.
how and the heck did you get 10K dps on those cannon shells? Edit: unlocked tier 10 and my dps isn't that high
25 днів тому
It made me cringe how experienced player like Nilaus got caught into that cloud of dust like devs intended. Is bot back and forth funny/annoying? Yes. Couldn't you just wait 30 or 60 seconds whatever the timer is so that the ashes get down on the ground? Well, no engagement farming then, huh? (Just kidding, couldn't find anything else to complain about lol)
How can you request Science Packs only on the source Vulcanous? It seems to me when the request is always there, the packs get shipped back and forth, because its unloading t and direcly re-requesting it?
Under the request on the space ship you specify which planet it is requesting from. Things that can only be built on one planet is defaulting to that, while everything else defaults to the orbit you are partked in
The requests on the space platforms have a specific planet they import from. For things that can only be built on a single planet (e.g. the orange science) it will default to importing from that planet. I think for other things, it defaults to the planet you're on when you create the request, but I'm not certain about that part, it might just default to Nauvis.
Hopefully the worms take over territory grow and split (into smaller worms so you cant take back all the territory in one swoop) making that planet not particularly safe to leave on its own unless you are already late game where artilery could take them down at a distance if they get too close
probably someone forgot how physics work. I'm also wondering how is the platform stopping by just turning off the thrusters... I bet we're going to see mods with forward thrusters required and acceleration/deceleration/inertia factored in.
@@thomac I often begin to think this way... and then I remind myself that the engineer can run around with dozens of nuclear reactors in his back-pack.
Arent you supposed to show the bad ways too, when title is called good and bad ways? xD I killed the small worms with a lot of red ammo turrets after i died two twimes to try to fight it with a tank and normal not uranium shells from the front. :D Medium worms i killed with tesla turrets.
Other question, are quality science packs a thing? (like if I make my science only out of legendary stuff - do legendary science packs last +150% as long in the labs?
They last +100% per quality level, so a legendary science pack lasts for +500%, added with the +50% bonus from the bio-lab. Fully legendary factories will either be proofs of concept, bragging rights material or ultra late in a hundreds of hours playthrough, though.

lol my uranium cannon shell does not do damage... shot like 10times before dying, seems they update it somehow... No, its not explosive uranium, normal uranium cannon shells. Not even nukes kill a starting one now....
Is there no way for bots to get rid of the cliffs on vulcanus?
There will be when they can carry cliff explosives, but cliff explosives are now later in the game than they were in v1.0.x.
Uranium cannon shell on physical damage 7 deals more damage than railgun, making it most convenient and boomer thing to do.
Yet i found an another interesting way, *spoiler maybe*:
Demolisher has only 20/20% electricity resists, and it conveniently has tons of segments, which makes it perfect target for tesla turrets. If you align about 20 of them right, in a arc, so they all will hit at once, after about 5 shots they will kill small demolisher, and that is with tesla damage upgrades.
Yippie
Can I play space age without enemies and pollution? I heard we need enemies to unlock spidertron. Is it correct?
Is there a way to get circuit signals between surfaces?
Unfortunately not. I was pitching the idea to the devs, they said "maybe in 2.1"
@@Nilaus Interesting.
@@jonathanrichards593 understood, thanks a lot
how and the heck did you get 10K dps on those cannon shells?
Edit: unlocked tier 10 and my dps isn't that high
@@Nilaus tnx!
Hopefully the worms take over territory grow and split (into smaller worms so you cant take back all the territory in one swoop) making that planet not particularly safe to leave on its own unless you are already late game where artilery could take them down at a distance if they get too close
I wonder why the space platform slows down when out of fuel
Because it's a game 😛
probably someone forgot how physics work.
Tequila Worm
next we need to figure out how to ride the volcanic worm... and rally the volcanic fremen....
LISAN AL-GAIB!
Arent you supposed to show the bad ways too, when title is called good and bad ways? xD
I killed the small worms with a lot of red ammo turrets after i died two twimes to try to fight it with a tank and normal not uranium shells from the front. :D
Medium worms i killed with tesla turrets.
vucanus with its demolishers and all the cliffs make the game not fun. i hate demolishers with a passion
