I feel like Rob has no idea what the show is about. Like this show isn’t just about the game and how it should be played. I feel like he went into this show just wanting to see them play the game and see who would win. Instead of actually caring about any of the characters

@@Max25670 I mean let's be real, what is unique about this series other than the fact that people are dying while playing children's games? The character dynamics and interactions as they play these death games is not anything new here. There tons of movies, books, shows, and video games with this as a concept. It's not surprising that the biggest inspiration for this series was obviously Battle Royale.

Ali is an immigrant and is too trusting of other people, he's not an idiot. Just very kind hearted.

@@daven9708 it's not dumb. It's great that you've never had the background he has but don't disregard it so easily. He's from a country and position where he was constantly serving others. That's why he kept calling Sang Woo "sir". He was naive not "dumb", there's a difference.
@@daven9708 I get that, but you're basically asking him to discard a lifetime of behavior. It's a different culture, it would help if you tried to understand that. For Ali, he has a debt to repay...he referred to Sangwoo as brother because of the kindness he has shown him. It's a big thing in eastern cultures. In the US and most of the west things like that are unheard of because ppl are more individualistic and honestly selfish. I encourage you to watch "White Tiger" on Netflix. You'll likely think the character is dumb too but many in that culture are taught to "serve" and respect others and refer to everyone above them as sir and ma'am. For Ali it was just a combination of things, I'm more sad for him than anything.

The whole point of Ali's character is that he's naive. It's a metaphor for people who come to S. Korea looking for work and get exploited. There's a reason he's specifically paired with Sung-woo, who is supposed to be a successful businessman who hides his own failures by exploiting others. You're supposed to reflect on that and think, "The world shouldn't be like this." It's fine to think Ali is naive but that's not supposed to be the only takeaway from that character.
It’s not just naivety, Ali built a strong relationship with Sang-woo. He gave him the bus fare, he saved his life during tug of war, and acted as a good friend towards Ali throughout the whole show. Yes Ali is naive, but if someone was that good of a friend, I’d trust them. Obviously he regretted his decision when he realized he was betrayed
But at that same it's completely understandable what Sung did. If you were in that situation and had a family, wouldn't you want to make it out alive for them?
I saw him as the Jesus character. He starts by saving someone, and ends by dying at 33, betrayed by one of his team. Rob is in the crowd shouting “crucify him, crucify him” (just kidding, a little church humor). Even his 199 number, includes the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega. He wandered wearing his crown of thorns/rocks to end up being killed. He is the sacrifice for sinful SangWoo, as Jesus is said to have died for our sins.
I haven’t read that anyone else sees any of this symbolism.

Rob was taught to hide his emotions, the more expressive he gets the more it hits. I understand the facade and the need to build it, but the other guys are better off for handling it their way.
Yeah the thing is sometimes what he does kinda work but this time it was really bad. He was trying too hard to keep the facade and in turn make the it less enjoyable and you could see it in others faces.
his the type to act tough around people than cry in his pillow with his back arched up
Its the same as at laughing in horror movies in theather
I think you're overthinking it, Rob is nothing more than a narcissist
. He can have a completely different opinion from one video to another.
It's not that serious, for one it's only a TV series & secondly not everyone had to cry or show emotion...if it's not them. Y'all assume way too much about people y'all don't know, based solely on UA-cam videos.
Man Rob is heartless lol. The thing about Sangwoo is, he's not a total piece of shit, there is humanity inside, HOWEVER, the point about Sangwoo doing what he did to Ali, is he manipulated Ali at the end for using the excuses of "I helped you with the bus fare and saved everyones life with the tug of war". Using that to take advantage of Ali's pure heart. Ali may have been a naive, but the writing of the show, is showing you Ali's position, being a foreigner, getting taken advantage and Ali felt like he could trust Sangwoo. The tears Ali had at the end were the tears of feeling betrayal.
This show is amazing because it also makes yourself as a viewer really think about what you would do in that position.
One more thing, 26:37, there's a good point there. I forget his name, but when he said, there's a difference between "They knew people were gonna die, but they didn't know they had to kill people" .. he's right, there IS a difference. They chose to go back into the game out of pure desperation due to their circumstances (Ep. 2 Hell), even though they saw over 200 people being murdered. Remember, the only reason they started killing each other is because Deok-su beat up a man, ended up killing him, saw that the money gets added to the piggy bank even though they're not playing a game. Deok-su is the one that started that whole charade at lights out. Remember when Rob said he would play like 101??? lol....37:31
What Sang woo did was rational but you can still think it's sad what happened, Rob just tryna be edgy.
What sangwoo did to Ali is not humanity but in the end I feel ok because he kill his self because of so many conscience and I see that he didn't want both of them to be killed
@@terivibal6022 no humanity I agree but the smartest thing a person could do if you wanted to survive. Which is the goal of this game
Not a total piece of shit? Lol he’s in the Games because he committed investment fraud, stole money from people who trusted him to take care of it and his own mother and put her business at risk.
He did the same think with Ali he knew how to manipulate him because that’s what he did on the outside. Got people to trust him so he can screw them over.
He was born a snake.
The guy just likes to troll in reactions like these, I don't even take his ass seriously anymore
I'm with Wells and Evan. Merely seeing people die in the game is a hell of a lot different than killing them yourself. In the first game, the people in charge of the game were doing the killing. I can understand that people in the Squid Game went back in thinking that the only thing they would have to do is survive until the end, not kill people to get to the end.
@@jamespadilionijr8362 EXACTLY like Rob is right I don’t understand why everyone is so naive and soft
You're speaking facts. Nothing about the game alluded to the players doing the killing. Most everyone would assume you have to survive what the games throw at you based on the first game, not that you'd have to watch your back from another player killing you. Notice how everyone in the show was shocked they let 101 murder that guy without consequence? Or how they were all shocked they had to kill their partner in the marble game? That's not a coincidence.
What exactly do you thin survive means. Ya'll actually have me agreeing with Rob and im shocked. Either there are so many dumb people or ya'll didnt fully watch the first game completely. It was all about seeing people turn against each other. Literally the first thing in an apacaplypse will be people fighting to survive and saying fuck you to other people. We're doing it in real life now. No toilet paper shortage but fools created one.

It's insane to think that the actor that plays Sae Byeok is actually a model and this is her first real acting role. She absolutely killed it, specifically in this episode.
Also, Ali has spent his whole life being taken advantage of and being extremely gullible or too nice. Sadly, it makes a lot of sense plot wise for this to be his demise.

To some extent rob is right about the game, but he rlly needs to stfu. Mans keep tapping and cheering for everyone’s death. I was rlly feeling Evan’s emotions and this man, Rob, rlly be ruining it
so true
Rob needs to learn to listen to others before speaking. He's just constantly thinking about what he wants to say next - which is just a repeat of what he's already said. I agreed with his point about Sangwoo just playing the game - sure, it's harsh that he had to manipulate Ali to his death but I would have done the exact same thing to survive, especially if I've only known the dude about a week. But the discussion got boring and repetitive when Rob wouldn't let other people finish speaking or make new points like Wellz was trying to do about being more mentally damaged afterward and how Squid Game was manipulating people into creating relationships before making them compete. Wellz had a great point that would have led to an interesting conversation but Rob had to ruin it to try and win some argument he blew out of proportion. There's a difference between seeing other people (150 or however many) being shot and personally having to kill someone, that's the guilt that Wellz was trying to talk about - it doesn't matter if it was expected or not, that shit stays with you because you're accountable.
Yup, the type that listens to respond rather than listen to what's being said.
It seems that Rob wins every single argument not by logic or intelligence. He just raises his voice louder than everyone to the point where the others give up so he'll stop yelling. It's almost as if he realises that the other guys have a better argument and he's trying to drown it out so that he can be right. He's like a male Karen.

Its not that Ali is an idiot, its that he was naive. He trusted someone that he really shouldn't have. Also Sangwoo is a professional scammer thats why he's in debt and why he needs the money.

Also as I've mentioned before Sangwoo is a professional scammer, hence he is very experienced. Sangwoo helped Ali before and even bonded with him, he did not give Ali any reason not to trust him. Even as he realized that he had lost, Ali cried because Sangwoo betrayed him, not because he lost.

Ali wasn’t meant for that environment, his character was purely made to show that you can’t be stupid and naive around people you have zero time with; how can you trust a stranger in such a known and violent setting? Sang wo was just playing his role, unfortunate but it’s fair.
Big true. Ali was dead from the second he got back in that car. He was simply too good of a person to win the games. If he had won his game against Sang-woo and continued on, and he had ended up in the same position as him in the glass tile challenge, he, Gi-hun and Sae-byeok would all have died because he wouldn't have been able to push the glass maker off the platform. Sang-woo was right, Gi-hun was lucky he was there. They wouldn't have survived that game without someone who can swallow their morals to do what has to be done. Ali was not that guy.

I like it better when Rob just sits back and has no reaction whatsoever
A contrarian on the judging panel keeps it interesting. All I say is Rob take a look at the thumbs up/thumbs down ratio on this video. It's at 20%. Don't let being hard cut into your business.
Honestly, Rob is not the kinda guy I want around my team, his words show what kinda person he is & I would NOT trust that man with food in the fridge, let alone my life
The point is you cant trust anyone fool.

Note to self: Don't trust bro on the right in Squid Games 😂😂
Don’t trust ANYONE in Squid Game
To say you'd be heartless and wouldn't care about anyone in the game is insane. People realized that surviving alone is way harder than surviving in a group. So those that grouped together ended up becoming friends with the people they joined up with. Only to find out they'd have to kill their new friends later on. At that point there's some sort of emotional attachment. It's sad. Rob wilding on this one, as usual. Even speaking facts.
I shed a tear this episode… I’d watch my back around Rob if I was y’all
Eh just shows that he likely isn't really trustworthy IRL tons of people aren't lol
If you watch other reactions to these scenes, you can see the divide between people crying wanting justice for Ali and the people laughing at Ali for being trustworthy
Bruh what 🤡
rob is the embodiment of an adult who hasn't achieved emotional maturity and hangs on to the idea that showing kindness, tears, or any openness = weakness 😂 y'all got hella patience dealing with him
Yeah no dude it's a FICTIONAL show first of all second of all THAT'S THE DUMBEST THING I'VE EVER READ so just because someone doesn't show tears to a FICTIONAL SHOW means that they have not achieved emotional maturity????LIKE ON WHAT EVIDENCE DO YOU BASE THAT ASSUMPTION ON? PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT, THEY HAVE DIFFERENT WAYS OF EXPRESSING EMOTIONS, NOT EVEYONE IS AS SOFT AS YOU AND, NOT EVERYONE IS GOING TO CRY OVER A FICTIONAL CHARACTER,DON'T EVER WRITE SOMETHING AS DUBIOUS AS THAT EVER AGAIN LEARN HOW TO THINK FORTH DIMENSIONALLY FOR A CHANGE IT WILL HELP YOU TRUST ME
Facts. Rob is like a child in an adult body. Even constantly saying that he's right and proved his point, when he's the one who started the argument in the first place. 😂
@@consciousmindgame5047i guess OP stuck a nerve huh💀. i do agree that not everyone should or is going to cry because of a fictional film, but i think OP thinks that rob shows no empathy towards the characters, and the show being fictional has nothing to do with that. it’s more so the morals and ethics of the show. also showing emotion towards a film doesn’t mean a person is soft so idk why you compared the two, but other than that i agree with you
@@luvvreni Okay, I said everyone has different ways of expressing emotion, not everyone is going to react to a certain thing the same way as a particular person, if you cry over a FICTIONAL show u aren't an emotionally touch person, of course, I'M BY NO MEANS SAYING YOU SHOULDN'T CRY ,if you are soft, you are soft, and its OKAY to be soft, it's not a crime to be soft ,so be soft...... 👍

@@obdiane yes, exactly

Its cuz u literally cant fix stupid
This episode was such a trainwreck of emotions, however Ali was too kind and trustworthy that’s why Sang-woo manipulated him into winning and getting ahead of himself. Being too kind can be seen as a weakness for a lot of people. Plus Ali was a foreigner so he didn’t know much about Korea.
And added with possibly not having one of the most powerful abilities everyone should have. The ability to say 'No'. He didn't seem to have the ability to get a better job, especially because he seemingly couldn't even get himself to quit. I get working for a shitty but barely stable wage. But not being paid for around half a year?? That's just a bit much. He did it seem to understand that you need to draw a line. He drew the line with the whole payment thing WAAAAAY too late and ended up in a shitty situation. The same happened with Sangwoo. It's sad and while I understand both Ali's naive trust and Sangwoo's betrayal, it's a sad thing to watch.
@@lockerbuddy2039 You are misunderstanding something. He’s an illegal immigrant so the possibilities to get a new job is near impossible. Even legal immigrants have a hard time getting jobs in S.korea since most employers prefer Korean workers.

Nah. Rob just wants to argue to argue. I don't necessarily 100% disagree with Rob, but he needs to let the other people speak and actually listen to their opinions, because at the end of the day none of ya'll know who's argument is 100% valid.
Rob is probably the reason has so many dislikes lmao
Ain’t gon lie ROB was spitting facts , there’s isn’t no humanity in the squid game it’s either kill me or I’ll kill u , i don’t understand the comments saying that rob is heartless , as he said y’all just killed like 8 people in tug of war , u came to this game alone nd ur gonna try to survive by yourself, if y’all were put in the same situation y’all would’ve done the same as sang woo …
Exactly, and at this point the players came *BACK* to the game after voting to leave. So what happened to them after they deserved because they knew what or what could happen when they came back to play the game.
Rob loves being the bad guy, he loves trolling y’all, he always says the opposite of what people think. He is playing the troll, non of his explanations ever make sense, he doesn’t really believe what he’s even saying.

Rob totally killed the tone of the ep
Logically speaking, Rob does have a point. If you're participating in a death game, where you give away your rights and over 200 of the participants casually die in the first game, you should at least expect the possibility of you being in a position to end the life of the remaining few, in order to proceed. That being said, Sang-Woo manipulated and took the life of someone who trusted him wholeheartedly. He'd have to be a heartless monster to not be affected by that.
Also, interesting for Wellz to compare the players to animals 😁
Whenever Rob acts like this I forget that the dislike button applies to the video and not him 🤦🏾♂️ because he really be pissing me off when he tries to argue like this 😤😤
Fast forward a year, rob was right and him literally yelling at them the truth is fuckin hilarious
Judging by the like/dislike ratio, i think Rob really needs to start to listen to people instead of shouting over them. It really makes it hard to watch because everyone else shuts up and listens and comes back with an argument. Hes literally eating the mic shouting at his friends.. im sorry to be another one of these comments but anyway, congrats on the weight loss Rob. just try to think of us headphone users a bit my g🤣
It's funny that Rob brings up the time the players were away from the game but forget they had things they were running from on the outside that made them go back.

Not y’all being mad at Rob. But he had a point if Sang-Woo set up Gi-Hun somebody he knew for a long time to almost get killed in the cookie cutting game why is it surprising that he would do Ali dirty and he didn’t know Ali until the game
EXACTLY!!
I agreed with Rob, its a game where people are gonna die, but when he started cheering on for Ali dying💀
Rob is looking at this from viewer's perspective and not from the participant's. They're decisions to return wasn't born out of logic but out of pure desperation. You're not thinking that this is a game where you'll have to kill people but instead one which you just have to survive. Huge difference between watching people die and killing them yourselves! Evan and Wellz are right. It's not that shocking that you'd have to kill people but doesn't mean you expected that shit. I mean, look at the husband at wife
He right in the sense that Sang-woo is playing the game like it should and that's what you gotta do if you wanna win but that doesn't mean you can't sympathize with the fact that these people were in such bad spots, they risked their life for this money.
Exactly. Rob couldn't even grasp what Wells was saying about the difference between preparing to possibly die and having to actually kill someone. The IQ difference between them is large.
No he is, youre just wrong and not listening. What he said is if it were him and he were that desperate why not just become a criminal where it would be much easier to get money and you wont always be risking your life. Truth is anyone going back to the game was crazy to begin with. Again I cant beleive ya'll have me on here defending Rob who is usually wrong but was totally right this episode.

Ali wasn't an idiot but Sangwoo's plan is actually not bad for someone who wants to survive.
