Can't believe the actress playing Saebyeok had cried and worried so much about her acting. It was her first role, but she did extremely well. Most young actors around her age couldn't even dream of having her level of insane talent playing such a complex and unique character.
Exactly. I'm shocked it was her first role and at the same time not really. They gave her a character that doesn't really emote much (at least outrightly) so they probably thought it was the safest choice (I'm assuming) but the actress really took the character to a whole other level. She never went out of character and yet she expressed so much feelings behind a stony mask. I understand why that one character garnered such a huge fanbase

A lot of beginner and "not so" established actors want to hang out on set to learn more of the craft and to ingratiate themselves with the crew and cast. The filming industry likes to work with people they know and like. Also it's great fun. As long as you don't get in the way, it's a wild experience. Every day it's something new and for the most part people are having a great time, well expect the "clean up" crew. Having to reset or clean up after a messy scene is no fun XD

Idk how well she did the accent since I don't speak Korean but I'm just saying that it's reasonable that she was worried since for most people acting with their own accent is already hard enough. She's a model though so she should have the basics when it comes to body language and facial expressions because modelling is a little bit like acting I suppose.

I was surprised when Kim Joo-ryoung (Mi-nyeo) seemed perplexed when she mentioned that her fans were calling her pretty. I think it definitely goes without saying that she is absolutely gorgeous!

Its heart-warming to know the actors behind Sae-byeok and Ji-yeong were so kind to each other. That's probably why their talk in character was so well-acted, due to their now formed chemistry.
When Anupham said his last scene is the hardest, I thought so too. His eyes conveyed so many emotions right before he went. I think he did his best and he would be aspectacular actor in the future.
They did all their own stunts, cared for each other, talked to each other, comforted each other and acted SOOOO grateful for the fame, opportunity and work each of them put in. Humble people who deserve the world. I love this.
theres many ways to bring the characters back. maybe season 2 (if there ever is one) can focus on everyone's back story, way before they joined the squid game

Man east Asian shows are always heavy on the heart. I've been watching them for a long time so the brutality didn't surprise me. What surprised me is how famous it got in USA. Because these kind of shows were always existing and out there.

I think everything other than set design like directing, scripting and other stuff were all done by the director so the director is the one who came up with it.
While everyone else was trying to win, Ji-yeong and Kan Sae-byeok were in their own world talking. It was very pure how they bonded to the end even through chaos. I only wished they could have had more scenes to show how great their characters were. These two young girls were braver and more selfless than any other character. They were my favorite. They all deserved so much more
