Thanks for shedding more light on the problem of non availability of water in Esan land. This is making a lot of Esan people shy away from going back home, develop their villages/towns. I look forward to the day the govts of Edo state/Nigeria take care of this problem.
I really enjoy and appreciate the footage you gather . I was checking back every time to see what you uploaded, and finally this video appears!!! Please keep teaching and uploading more and abundance ,video from your country.
Your videos leave me with both optimism and despair about Nigeria. While the government has a role to play towards nation-building, the masses must not abdicate their own responsibility towards (re) making a Nigeria that works for all us. There's hope yet. Thanks for embodying that hope for our nation, brother.
I really respect you for taking out time to do this kinds of videos and also see the potentials for growth in our dear Nation Nigeria. I hope this your videos get to the right places to effect change in our Country. Nigeria will definitely be great
Deficiency of governance affects everyone, everywhere. The problem is that those saddled with the responsibility of governance seems not to understand the weight of responsibility on their shoulder.
I enjoyed the video Bigwillz. I didn't realize water would be a problem in the south. Are water impoundments, like reservoirs, not practical there? Or is there some other reason why they wouldn't help solve the problem?
So nice to hear from you sir. Providing clean water should not be a problem at all but like in this village they had running water but lack of maintenance is what caused this problem. Lack of maintenance is what I refer to Nigeria happening to the village. As lack of maintenance is synonymous with Nigeria.
Thank you for sharing this video and highlighting this issue. I enjoy watching your expeditions 😂 Where in Ewohimi are you from? My dad’s from Okede in Ewohimi.
Some youtubers swim and wash clothes on site shown at time stamp 13:14 i believe they said that is the woman side. There is another side that is the man side. Its a small world. Africa is such a beautiful place. My friend said its very expensive and difficult to build well because of the soil he lives in edo states. That you for sharing. Stay strong
Thank you for watching and commenting. Appreciated. Because of how the soil is, it's very expensive to build a borehole.. Thank you once again for commenting.
Someone should go ask the local Government representative again if they did in the past to ask them when would they change the pipes but in the meantime its ok for rainwater and spring water for drinking if boiled and the river water for washing cleaning and bathing you can only do so much
Does the federal and state governments in Nigeria do anything well? They don't seem to do any maintenance on infrastructure or planning or provide security. What exactly do they do well?
Sad to say, but our governments are extremely efficient and top-line at graft. Corruption: in America is tactful, in Brazilian is shrewd, in Russia is brute, in China is technical. In Nigerian? we perform brilliant magic.
Chief, how does providing identification provide protection from criminals? Bad roads are an indication that the money is being diverted by state government officials for their own personal benefit. Chief, I have another question, I hope you don't mind. If government can't even provide water for it's people, why bother with government? Or, people should elect "small government" - thereby reducing the cost of governance. What is really needed is a systematic and comprehensive approach to water provision, which would need government oversight. The rest of the world for the most part have moved away from buckets and jerrycans, but Nigeria is still stuck in the 18th century... Why must development solely be concentrated on the state capitals? Just because the governor and his colleagues live there. Neighbouring African countries are now advancing, look at Burkina Faso and Niger Republic and the progress they are making. I think awareness is a good place to start. People must realise that this is not how "government works".
But a lot of this is LGA. Do you know how many random little villages like this we have spread over different states? This is for the LGA to fix or surface to the governor as a priority matter. The governor won't otherwise know what's going on in a random village.
Bigwillz we as Nigerians some of the most talented people on Earth always talk about the government. Fair. But in certain cases WE can do. You have a platform online - maybe your legacy for your village can be restarting water supply. Is it possible for you to determine how much will be needed to restart the pump from the water and work on crowdsourcing to do so online? There are a lot of environmentally-concerned people in and out of Nigeria who would probably support (and as a side dish, it would probably grow your channel). I can promise that I will give $200 to that effort if so. And then if successful, we can take the show on the road to other communities in Nigeria.
It's the duty of the elected reps to see that the government provides the basic amenities and security for their constituency. Failure of leadership at all levels is a chronic problem in Nigeria. Do you also expect him to crowd fund for light and roads?
Honestly, I've not thought about it the way you mentioned here. I think I will take a very close look and come up with something and share with us here online. Thank you very much for your contribution. I very much appreciate it.
In looking at the problem, I will try get the attention of the people representing us in government to see what they can do to resolve this problem. Whatever the situation, I will share with us here online.
@@Bigwillz my broda, please do by all means. In a way, outsourcing funds is a "glitch" in the economic matrix. With enough structure, well minded people can raise money to do a lot of good, with no single person carrying particular risk. You will have to be transparent and show a real plan so that people understand that EVERY PENNY/KOBO is going to the effort. You can document the plan as well (e.g., surveying the problem, cost etc.), which again is also content.
@@motowndrive no just to crowd fund for what may be a simpler problem to address. The government clearly will not and has not done it. This is the story of countless little communities not only in Nigeria but the world where things don't change for decades. Fortunately, Bigwillz has a platform So if the government won't do it, and you can address it for your OWN good, you'll rather sit and complain? You are an idiot. What part of what I wrote do you take issue with, as if I am government.
The British colonial administration exhibited more concern for the country's upkeep than the indigenous governments that followed. Since their departure 60 years ago, the infrastructure they established has deteriorated due to neglect. I am embarrassed.
Dig bolehole in your villages let people come and fetch water We have rivers in our villages in the south east but now many people build their houses and dig boreholes and make it easy for villagers to get water. All this complaints about government won’t do any good.!Government can’t do everything especially in your villages. You bloggers can continue to blogg this from now to eternity without contributing anything yourselves.
What water crisis when there is water everywhere. And which government are you referring to? Local or State. You have to leave the federal government out of this rather local problem. I also don't understand your constant comparison with the so-called north, as if to imply that the federal government is favouring the north (BTW do you include the Midland in your colonial definition of the north?). There are far more rivers and rain fall in the south than in the Midlands and North.
Bros, I won't lie, the number of Ewohimi ppl in Europe alone can rebuild that water board but I don't know, how to make them see this video enmass. 😢 Thanks again for posting this.

"The Nigerian Factor" - that's a good one. And it is not "poor maintenance", it is rather "zero maintenance".
Absolutely zero maintenance.
This is what happened to Ekpoma as well. I’m sure people all over Edo and Delta states can tell the same stories. Well done Owain!
