Just got to the end of the video - officially no one knows who they are, but it's widely accepted that the drummer is Louis Cole - the primary songwriter/studio multi-instrumentalist/live drummer for Knower, and the sax player is Sam Gendel, he was the sax player from the Knower vid you did, and a titan of modern jazz.

Then he should do the guy that does machine music. Builds his control surfaces out of a half ton of steel and drops transducers on them - can't remember his name right now. Or maybe that Imogen Heap presentation where she demonstrated a song using everything imaginable as a control surface, even the (at the time current technology) Kinect.
When you expand your palette then that expands non-linearly the directions in which you can compose loop back connect and call/answer, et al in your composition, story, your thing that is being presented by your craft - sometimes they're even the same things, but usually not.

      I don't play.
I dig for new stuff all the time, especially in outsider genres.
I love learning what musicians think about other musicians.
But there's more than enough breakdowns of anything that's been on commercial radio.
Learning about how things are composed and their influence makes this type of arrangement go from noise to art.
I view Clowncore as pushing jazz forward by bringing black metal and electronic music together with a freestyle jazz window. It's highly satirical and should be taken lightly. But the skill and musicianship is beyond anything, their way of presenting the project is of its time.
I love how they have taken the Residents lead, we know who they are but they keep ( to borrow a term from wrestling) kayfabe. Which these days is difficult to do.

This is some craaaaazy stuff and very much to my surprise, I really like it!! 🤡🤡 I appreciate musicians who aren't afraid to challenge the norm. The norm can be boring and needs a good kick in the rear-end from time to time. Back in the day, bands like Skinny Puppy, NIN, Ministry, and others were those bands that carved a path for, and in some sense, gave birth to some of todays best music. Yet they were considered "out there" or too weird for radio play at the time, but they made a name for themselves regardless of all of that.
Anyway, if I may suggest some songs for your to decompose: The band is Soen and the songs are "Fraktal" and "Fraccions" (should be decomposed together) and the other one is "Canvas". Thank you and I hope your time on the board is bitchin'! Peace brother Geebz! 🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️

I could ramble on but I'll just say they are from Yorkshire, England so they've probably grown up listening everything from David Bowie to Sisters of Mercy. Yorkshire was Goth in the eighties, then it turned Gothic in the nineties with bands like My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost. Both hand their synth pop phases but nowadays they mostly do the gloomy, doomy, gothic metal.

    Highly recommend, Neurosis - Eye
A little esoteric, here's the pitch. These are the kind of vocals Mastodon wanted to do, but safely, on blood and thunder. I dont think the vocals on this track exist anywhere else and im not exaggerating about mastodon wanting the sound, theyve had him on several recordings and tours since mastodon blew up.
If its too obscure, the stuff on Times of Grace by Neurosis had more money on the studio side. recommend Belief (more prog) / The Doorway(more wall of noise)
The Melvins are also something that probably deserve a listen, still a smallish? band, but less, perhaps more influential than neurosis in the west coast's sludge/post-metal scene going back to the 80's, more rock, less prog.

oh yeah, btw the words are for fun...they don't usually actually sing/say anything when using that style haha. Louis Cole is def a showman so he's kinda mocking the singing style as many have, saying it sounds like nothingness, at the same time as using it for the medium cause it fits and its fun to scream . just my opinion but dudes a fun time so feels right haha

My guess is they're former band geeks who now program for Microsoft and they unleash their angst and insanity from 80 hours in front of a computer through music.
