6:37 Man, I remember the days when my lady used to hang out and just watch me build stuff. Not sure if that's actually your lady or just fam but don't ever take that for granted. Nice work on the bed setup BTW.
Like the build. As an RV tech myself, I think of a few things that some people may not. Like the space between the bed sides and the frame rails. Some models of trucks have the perfect amount of room to mount a battery tray, box and then a deep cycle battery to run things. Then possibly stick a propane tank on the other side if you want. A class B conversion van that's factory built by an RV company can give lots of inspiration. If you use that in winter, a small tent stove that you can put the exhaust out the window for heat is an option. Also, if you're able to run dual batteries in the truck under the hood, get the tray and install a deep cycle battery instead and then use an RV trombette solenoid to isolate it. It will click on to charge the battery when the truck is running and then off when parked to keep from draining the starting battery. Plus they usually come with an "emergency start" button which will allow you to boost the truck using the deep cycle battery.
Brilliant job! One of the easiest, pull out kitchen, truck bed videos, to follow I've watched so far. I've now got a really good idea how to make my own. Thanks for posting
FIRST of all THANK YOU!!! for sharing the how to step by step and don't do the speedy gonzales type of video like many idiots do in UTUBE when do not want to share knowledge...SECOND ...I learned so much from this video.. so I .thank you again!!!
Maybe I'll build a drawer on my next one. I bet you replaced that mattress by now. I'm running 4 inches thick. Mine's about same height, but my knees and arms bump the window or the curtain on my window so I slid a cut piece of corrugated plastic down the side that comes up about 6 inches above the bedrail. Now I'm figuring out how to seal the gate so dust stops and cold air from the gate top corner. I use my bed more for drunk nights at friends then fishing so far...
Dude this thing looks strong as heck. I want to do a very similar build, but I am going to try to make the bed top hinged so I can access storage from within the cab. Great video man thank you.
Great video. I think I still would have used the aluminum shelf toy built for the cooker and used the space you have for the cooker as more storage or even a pull out sink if that makes sense. It looks amazing man. Very nice build.
My house don’t even have that nice of flooring! 😂 sweet build man! I’m planning to going this route! Just got one of the big piece’s need for my build which is a sweet ARE camper shell! Hopefully will be uploading some vids on here soon!
Wow just what I’ve been looking for, been watching different videos to get different ideas for in the bed of my 2001 Silverado Z 71. I like that set up, appreciate you sharing. I’ll be following for more ideas love that design that is awesome
ive got the decked system in my tundra and i love it but theres a bit of wasted space. youve utilized the wasted space and the customized compartments are nice. nice work
How's your gas mileage hauling this thing? Would you change the drawers to 1/2" ply or the flooring to something thinner? Really solid build but I'm thinking you could have saved a ton of weight, no?
Wicked build! Not sure if you've done this yet, but have you thought about adding bed side stiffeners to prevent your bed sides from flexing and cracking under the weight of your cap and gear on top?
@ How do you get in and out of the camper and keep yourself safely tucked away at night? My truck opens from the outside only and I can’t feel safe inside while it’s open to whoever comes along
@ mine has a handle on the inside that you can open it from. I’ve seen people put vise grips on the sliding part inside so no one can open from the outside. Just clamp them on so the locking rod won’t slide
After all these videos i figure by the time i get it built summer will be over so i like a few rubber made containers heater some water and a mattress .....equals more time doing what i really want to do which is having my line in the water.
Hello there, I enjoy your channel very much! Question: Do you build platform beds with drawers for fee? I'd be interested in having one made just like this one but removable as I'll use my truck for more than camping. I have a 2014 F-150 SuperCab with 78" truck bed.
How’s everything so far? Been following your built. Have you had any problems on your truck bed? I’ve seen few guy’s installed bed stiffeners to support the weight
Hello & great video ;) What thickness plywood are you using please !! & is there a lightweight plywood you can buy to save weight ? Thank you from Gary ;)
I sharpen knives and the metal cutting board actually hurts my feelings and the knife's edge . Please use a plastic or wood surface to keep from dulling a good knife.
😤😠😡 Boom boom boom Slow down the intro.... I was taking extreme notes🥺 I mean extreme. I don't have the depth but this is awesome🥺 space and what I want to see. Pull out under rail and then (smack) slide underneath stainless steel table under the draw pull out🤯😱. Not thing on your level. Plus the storage space is close to what I wanna do but water bottles and and a pump water system is gonna be there for me just not sure how good the pump is yet. Oh the stove to burn as well. So that made me take more space in the rear of my truck. Wow🤯😱🤔🤨👍😫😁👏👏 good step up. May I copy?
Really really like this build. The thing that bugs me most about these slide out builds though is that I would add adjustable leg supports at the end just to help it not put so much pressure on everything. I know you got the big bad ass locking slides but being me I'd put some thing there. Never know when someone might lean on it and you hear a big crack.

I was just going to tag you, he's trying to one-up ya!
@@pataldrich 😂 id say he accomplished that!
Definitely want to do this in my blazer that I got last year… coincidentally, I’m Yarmouth Maine. Thanks for the great video.
I do the same thing. When it comes to trying to think ahead. We’re all human
Just came across your video and that’s simple and neat!! Good job😊
This thing is sick. I’m really want to do this when I get a truck, and this is great inspiration!

No I just added an exercise Matt under it for more cushion. Been working fine
thank you for great video keep up good work, I love camping fishing and do thing out door .

That’s is a really narrow bed box hope you have weighted more decision on your sleeping comfort than storage on the remaining space
Dang a 13 plus year old mattress, now that’s getting your money worth 👍🏾
From college , yikes ! That was the only part of the video that scared me !

Did you have to add some sort of a gasket around your tailgate to keep everything from getting dusty on backroads?
Yeah if you watch the part 1 video of this build it’s near the end on that. Stuff worked well too.
Love your build, What about paint the inside tail gate with the same product you use on the top. Enjoy your toy.
Maybe build one more pull out drawer for the other side so you could put a bigger bed maybe
This is awesome and exactly what I’m looking to build .. Thank you 😊👍🏽🇦🇺
I see around 6:50 the supervisors on hand!😂
Awsome job looks great and functional
Nice, just giving me an idea to do mine as well. Like that slot below the pillow for the 9 mil….

6:38 I see the foremen is doing her job. lol
I think you did a great job, easy, simple, and usable.
Great build! I would consider screwing a nylon cutting board instead of stainless surface.
Why?
@@ganonjesuschrist2053 why not
@@kyebo1776 because stainless looks way better
@@ganonjesuschrist2053 yes ,but it will reek havoc on your blades. To each their own
Just a thought, you could make a “top” over the pull out drawer that can provide a removable flat surface that could if you wanted double as a table.
Will do that on the next one. But I usually use my wooden cutting board and set it up there
You did a good job on everything the bed drawers ect lights too wish I could hire you to fix my truck
Nice build. I need a wider bed as I am a wider person.
On your base board did you mounted to the bed? Or its just laying on top of the bed and you just use the drawers weight to secure it?
It’s screwed down to my floor
Nice job. Be safe.
ive got the decked system in my tundra and i love it but theres a bit of wasted space. youve utilized the wasted space and the customized compartments are nice. nice work
Here’s a question? I want locking full extend drawer slides, couldn’t you use 4 slides, 2 next to each other to double the weight capacity?
Probably. You mean just regular kitchen ones? These locking ones I used were like 500lb
@@mainetroutwhisperer thanks I want similar to your set up only tools, in a tall rack
For my transit connect work van…
How's your gas mileage hauling this thing? Would you change the drawers to 1/2" ply or the flooring to something thinner? Really solid build but I'm thinking you could have saved a ton of weight, no?
No idea. I don’t check the mileage. Def could have saved weight. I don’t have a table saw at my place so this was easier
nice build. what did you do to prevent leaks between cap and truck bed
Check out part 1 of this
Great job I am thinking doing to my truck great video ty for the tips
good job buddy coming out nice
Man that is clean. Great looking rig you have there.
It's really nice! Where does the GF sleep though?
At home
Absolutely beautiful
That turned out pretty sharp! 👍... nicely done!!
Great job! I like it all.
How long is the truck bed?
6ft
So. How much weight was the new floor, sliding drawer and bed ?
Looks great man. Makes me think I’d like to do something with my truck similar
Ps...great build! Nothing wrong with winging it a bit. Also, Kregs Pocket Hole Jig makes short work of all the joinery
Nicely done!
Wicked build! Not sure if you've done this yet, but have you thought about adding bed side stiffeners to prevent your bed sides from flexing and cracking under the weight of your cap and gear on top?
Outstanding brother!!!
For tour cutting board slide out, did you use 2 pieces of 3/4 " plywood ?
Awesome build!
Is the floor sheet 1/2 in ply?
Great job, but why o why didnt you go with a stepped cap? be nice to be able to sit up at night : )
Nice work!
The Alumasteel is so soft and scratches and dents so easily. I wouldn’t recommend cutting on it.
Really cool build! Thanks for sharing!
Sick man. I like it a lot.
Hi Really nice job. Where did you get those drawer slides ? Really nice design. I’m gonna try to do something similar
They should be in the description
Awesome job 👏 👍 🙌

Thank you
How do you secure this when you’re sleeping and get in and out. My pass through window is too small and I’m a small woman.

It’s actually pine boards for the sides
How are those drawer slides holding out? Also, where are they made? Thanks for the content!
Holding up great. They are bomb proof. Not sure where they are made but I got them from solid woodworks
