Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. Will the same process be suitable for replacing the worn out EMMC on Hisense units? From where can we find a known good EMMC dump? Are there not hidden keys for the HDMI licensing, etc. required when replacing with a blank EMMC? Wish to invest into a suitable JTAG tool to resurrect the Hisense (and other) boards. Thanks again.
I have not had any problems with the HDMI licensing. I believe that is in the processor and not in the eMMC. But our supplier of processors has the licensing firmware already on the chips when we get them so it's not an issue.
The eMMC chips on Hisense mainboards also suffer from the same problems.
As for the known good eMMC dumps, you can get one by purchasing a new working mainboard, resetting it to factory default if it is not already, and then dumping the eMMC chip. That is the only way to get a good version of the software. No one provides it. It can be extremely difficult to find a good working mainboard sometimes especially for the 55H9G and 65H9G Hisense.
We have had countless repair requests we have had to turn down because we haven't been able to get a working mainboard for one of these to acquire the eMMC software.
@@NicksTVRepair Thanks so much for your prompt feedback. Will continue to investigate this serious fault. Yes, we are facing the same models with worn out EMMC. On this topic, would you like the last known good firmware for these models? Have them (version L0406) and can post them on demand. We have been told that the firmware is the same for the 55" and the 65" models. The difference is in the number of backlight zones which should be possible to adjust through the (hidden) service menu. Openly, did not want to brick the board we had so did not alter any of the default settings of the service menu. If we attempt this again, is there a method to restore the firmware settings to default if the screen is lost due to a bad (service menu) setting? We have a Seamark BGA workstation for the BGA removal / soldering. BTW - this YT video was linked from badcaps for the jtag tool. Are you still ok with this tool? Looks like a solid product and will consider it for our mad experiments. Will keep you posted. Thanks again!!
We are slowly transitioning to the Xgecu T56 because of the price. The Jtag Plus we have cost $1,300 now. Its absolutely insane the price of the programmer. When we first bought it a few years back it was only $600 or so.
It has more than doubled in price.
As for the firmware, yes it is the same for the 55" and 65". As for restoring the settings back to default, I don't know if it would work or not but you can try disconnecting the TV from power, pressing and holding the volume down and power button, and keeping the two buttons pressed in (on the tv not remote) as you plug in the TV and keep them pressed in for at least 15 seconds or until the standby light turns a solid green. Then you can release. This should force reset the TV.

hi nick, have a 65x900e that didnt turn on, bought a mainboard from a 55x900e turned on with sound after software update but no image, could the mainboard be bad or just not compatible? thanks in advance
The mainboards for the 65" and 55" are the same. There is no difference between the two so it's not going to be a compatibility problem. This means you either have a bad mainboard or the mainboard is not properly communicating with the T-con. This can happen either because the ribbons are damaged, the ribbons are not properly inserted or it's possible the connector has a piece of plastic stuck in it from being improperly removed out of the circuit.
Whoever took the mainboard out of the original TV to put it up for sale may not have properly disengaged the locking mechanism and when they removed the ribbon broke off a piece inside the connector. This is actually very common.
I am biased here but this is why I recommend sending your mainboard for repair with us, we check everything in a live TV, confirm faults before repairs, and make sure everything is working post-repair and we provide a 1 Year warranty.

Hi, I'm trying to repair an XBR-75X900H but I can't remove the back. It's different to the back removal video you have on your channel and I can't find anyone doing a repair on this particular set. I've removed the 5 screws on the back, unclipped the tabs at the bottom but it seems to be held on still under the bezel. Weird engineering design imo. I removed the bezel screws but having trouble removing the bezel, worried about damaging the screen. Any help would be appreciated.
TV laying screen facing down on a table. Very bottom of the set lift it up about 2-3 inches to clear the speakers. Then push it towards the top of the TV.

@NicksTVRepair Thanks. I eventually got it. I had to use a plastic pry tool along both sides and then raise the back up and the top part just popped off. Why they couldn't make a simple access panel I have no idea.

I don't think so but don't know for sure as I don't work on those models. I only work on the 2015 and newer. The 9000B is 2014 and uses different tech. There is a big difference with the way sony made their 4k tvs from 2013 and 2014 compared to 2015 and later models.
Do you do a live diagnostics through FaceTime?
Sorry it simply wouldn't make sense financially for you. In order for it to make sense for me I would need to charge more than the value I would be able to provide.
Doing videos like these however allows for me to reach thousands of people which is much more scalable.

But if you did have a USA model I wouldn't be allowed to sell it to you because we don't own the intelectual property, Sony does.
Sorry I can't help you. Your best bet it to find a local shop in your country that would have that software.
Sony panasonic main boards are expensive
They are which is why we primarily fix them. We were able to save almost 2,000 Sony sets from the landfill since we started fixing these. They are very much worth fixing since they are very nice typically high end sets with great picture quality.

This one specifically had many issues, I don't think we have come across one with this many problems before. When we first started the repair process on camera we were expecting it to be a 3-5 minute video. Boy were we in for a surprise.
