Wow since the M50 and all the R mirrorless models came out, I had forgotten all about the EOS M! Thanks for reminding me this existed and what a great compact camera this is
Well, I just re-aquired an EOS-M with 2 lenses (18-55 and the 22mm) and hope that the new Crop Mood version of ML is going to make things a bit easier! I'd like to know more about your trick to take photos with ML. 2 years ago when I was in the middle of exploring the M, I had to go into the regular Canon mode (turn off ML) to take photos... which was a bit cumbersome, so please share your way of switching between photos and video with ML! :)

Tbh I think now with crop mood all you need to do is put it into photo mode and it should work!

Yeah you can use it without a lens. You just need to turn a setting off in the menu. Think its something lease "release without lens"

Depending on the lens, but you can just half press shutter to aquire focus instead of manual focusing. I found this allows my footage to be much smoother due to a better hand placement.
I have one on my shelve since years! Let's try it again!!

I took an eos-m to Maui (Hawaii) with a couple manual focus lenses (50mm f/1.1 and 35mm f/1.4). Easy to carry everywhere. I didn't put ML on it. I used my phone to grab the pics from the 128GB PNY SD card to upload to the internet.

I came to comment on the title, it's a bit clickbait-ish don'tcha think? The original Blackmagic Pocket Camera does fit in your pocket. So does all of the Nikon 1 Series of cameras, and let's not forget about the Z-Cam E1 which is so small you might lose it in your pockets 😅
I keep my EOS M with 22 mm. In addition I got a EOS M 50 Mk II which I use with a Tamron traveller zoom. I am satisfied.

It's great 👍 i think raw video means raw motion photos. You take 24 or 30 pictures per second. If you don't like motion blur, just crank up shutter speed.

My issue with the egos m that I recently purchased is viewing the screen and focussing in the harsh light in Oz.
Yeah can be tough, you can half press shutter to use AF or zoom in to get focus. Seem some cool hot shoe screen shades also!

You forgot in all good information in this clip, to mention that anyone with a eos m camera has a free room in your apartment any time of the year to use freely. Very important information, but easy to forget :)

What's the Magic Lantern focusing method you talked about?
In certain modes you can half press the shutter and it psuedo autofocuses. I set the focus doing this then record.
Did you film those beautiful people and all this scenes with this camera or ?? Also if its yes did you use a lens to have this amaaaazing filming ? Sorry i watched the video but i couldn't understand clearly
Yeah filmed it with the canon eosm and mostly shot with the canon 22mm f2

Hey! fantastic channel and very humble approach. In your experience, what's the max SD card capacity working with the EOS M? Some people find that some 64Gb cards don't work, while others like Zeek have no problems with 128Gb cards. Is is brand dependant? I didn't find conclusive info about that. thanks in advance!
Hey. Not exactly sure I haven't done testing. I use 64gb 170mbs san disk cards!

If you've got the budget go for the bmppc. But if no budget the EOSM can produce similar quality but it's a more difficult to use

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my EOS M camera. When I adjust the ISO, the brightness of the image on the camera screen doesn't change. Normally, when the ISO is changed, the brightness should change accordingly, but this doesn't happen on my camera. As a result, the photos I take are often over or under exposed. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Either because of the increasr sensor crop or because you are zoomed in to focus

It films in a squeezed aspect ratio in camera then you have to desqueeze it in MLV.

When you’re shooting in such high resolution, how long can you continuously shoot for?
Depends on a few factors like aspect ratio and frame rate. But your can get it indefinitely
@@lumingate you think at 2.5k you could get it indefinitely? 5k is amazing but I don’t need all that. Bc I’ve been debating on buying a new camera but I’ve had the eos m for a long time now and not used magic lantern yet. And if I can get 2.5 k indefinitely, there’s no need for a new camera.

How’s the work flow to process raw video in post?
Actually not that bad, there is an app called MLVapp which you use to open and perform an raw edits then you convert in files that are readable by your editor!
Ain't that the truth. We just gotta fix the moire/aliasing issue at HD 1080p.
Other modes like 5k and 2k are better
