You can prob go with a bracket setup like a thirdgen camaro (ex: 92 camaro) ..those tpi's worked with the stock 700r4's ..also check bowtieoverdrives ..they prob can hook u up for ur exact setup
Just swapped my 2 bbl to a holley on 70 Impala and now the tv cable seems too short. I know I need to make a new bracket, but seems like the assembly is too short to even reach to the lever. thought it was going to be a swap and go, but I was wrong. don't know what trans I have and don't know if I have to replace the cable or not. It does have the end with a long slot that slides
Clowney, I'm working on an 86 Firebird T/A. I'm in Texas and the car went for a swim The dash and motor mostly stayed out of the water. After changing fluids and filters, the 700R4 shifts at high RPM's. 4000 for 2nd and 3000 for 3rd. It has yet to kick into overdrive. The car ran fine before the storm. What would be your suggestion to fix the shift issue? Motor runs like a top, but this transmission is killing me.
Your 700r4 TV cable adj. was helpful but I have a 99 GMC. Took out the TH400 and had a 700r4 rebuilt and installed. Well the shop did not know how to properly adj the TV cable. Some of the gears are burned up and the transmission place went out of business. My question is how does someone adj the tv cable on this type of set up. It has a TPI throtle body no holly here. I going to do this my self. Thanks
Good vid man but there is not even one vid on youtube about the cable cam ajustment. I kinda know what it does but It would be nice to know base setting and how far it can be ajusted or whats recommended.
I cant understand why someone wont just ACTUALLY MAKE the ADJUSTMENT and not talk about it! christ!
He was pretty clear to me
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. Perhaps a title change so you won't piss off so many people who are watching this, FOR FREE!

Justin Wininger water probably seeped into the trans
klowny1969 already drained the fluid and changed the filter. No water showing on the dip stick.
Justin Wininger yeah but sounds like water did get in there..when u drain it..u still have the torque converter thats full of fluid
If it shifts too early, its too loose. If shifts too late, its too tight.Go from there.....

You don't adjust it. You set it. It has zero adjustment. It's either correct, or not.
