- This is a short video on the very popular 26 inch hyper cruiser 49cc 4 stroke motorized bike I sell. I wanted to show you guys what a 49cc 4 stroke can do top speed with a 36 tooth sprocket and a 220 pound person enjoy.
Mine is doing 35 but sucks on the hills. I weigh 160 and have higher end airless wheel tube inserts, a DAX engine and 4.25:1 belt drive unit and a heavier frame than you are running. I am taking it back down to 27 MPH which is where it should do well with up to a 220 pound rider here around Tucson. Geared to 31 MPH it did alright on the hills and starting out. I am donating it to a camp of homeless veterans to make store runs on when I am done with it in a few months. By then it will have been brought far enough that it will last them a few years hopefully without any additional repairs or work needing to be done. The machine I have also has a 6 gallon milk jug carton on the rear carrier I want to be able to run 50 lbs of gear in. I might even take it down to 25 or so. Torque is king. A 1 mile walk each way to a store is an awful lot for many elderly veterans when it is over 100 degrees out. I would never even think of assigning a 2 stroke the service this one is going to see. Engine has about 600 miles on it now, should last forever geared to 27 MPH and deliver the torque needed for the hills around here with no problem. It's legal on the bike trails and lanes here. Unlike what mopeds are allowed in this town. :) Speed limit on em is 20 MPH and yes, they enforce that people who do not play by the rules of grace.
Great editing!
Nice!
What is the gearbox ratio on your belt drive? 4:1 or 5:1? I would like to make a calculation of your top speed but I need to know your gearbox ratio.
How's the vibration on your feet?
That is cool and insane at the same time. I would never go 30mph with regular rim brakes...
I go 35 with a coaster brake. Never had a problem
Just got to make sure theyre good quality calipers, and theyre properly tightened, if not the pad will twist and eat up your tire, ive had that happen on a brand new 40 dollar maxxis tire.
What kit is this
Do you think if I did a 32 tooth sprocket instead of 36 4 stroke 49 cc would be ok on occasional inclines? (Not opposed to pedaling alongside my motor)
No too small. The smallest I would do if your around 150 pounds is 36t if your 200 pounds id do 41tooth
What is the kit
How can I brake without a hand brakes if it on a fix gear? I have seen some other videos they have fix gear on 49cc with out a hand brakes
put ur foot on the tyre ?
hello my name is sam are you still selling the bikes
I am thinking of getting one of these 49cc 4 strokes for my bike. What do you think the top speed would be with a 40 tooth sprocket? The 46 tooth might lower the cruising rpms but I want to have good acceleration too. Would the 40 tooth sprocket still get good top speed like the 36 tooth?
tbh i’ve had a 44, 40,36 ,and a 28 tooth and the best one seems to be the 36 bc the 40 doesn’t change much and u need more power to run the 28
I’ve run 44, 40, 36 and 32 with my 4 stroke. The best seems to be the 36, and I’ve been running it for a while now. With The 44 and 40, the bike just doesn’t have any legs. With the 36 I can cruise along at 25 without being at full throttle all the time.
Have fun, be careful!
My stock sprocket with stock 4 stroke does 33 mph not sure the size of sprocket maybe 42 tooth whatever is stock with the kit. It's a mountain bike build not sure thinking about getting a smaller sprocket
Sounds so mean for a 49cc. Wonder if there's a decent jackshaft kit for these... It would be nice to reliably go 40-45MPH with gears for hills
Yeah I just don't see a 4 stroke powering enough wind out of the way to move you 45 mph on flat ground. A 2 stroke will
randy s Yeah, I pushed the limits of motorized bikes and failed. I eventually built a 125cc bike using an old salvage scooter frame. It does everything I need 2 wheels to do!
i want to get a motorized bicycle but i dont wanna be in trouble with police and class c for my area is under 20mph which is fine with me. any suggestions?
A class c license is just a regular drivers license. You need to check your local laws on legality in your state
Are you petaling at all because I got one but I think I messed something up... I don’t go nearly that fast unless I petal with it
No I'm not what transmission do you have?
Awesome nice work if i ordered a 30 tooth for my bike with this motor on it i should get about 40 mph what do you think sir?
30 tooth is way to small 41 tooth is perfect
you get to a point where a smaller gear actually slows you down because the engine is unable reach the powerband. What's the top speed on these things with a 44t? It can't be far off from this I'm guessing. Maybe even faster depending on the redline?
@@joeMW284 I can let you know when my bike gets here how the 44 tooth sprocket does, if your still interested in finding out.
@@joeMW284 44 tooth is the slowest 41 is where it's at. With a 41 I can get up to 37 mph with a 26 inch wheel. 36 tooth is too small unless you where running it on a 24 inch wheel. 41 is the sweet spot.
Yeah 30 tooth is definitely too small, I have the EXACT same bike (49cc 4 stroke on a Hyper cruiser frame) switched it down to 36 tooth, gutted the muffler into a straight pipe, threw on an intake manifold and a 2 smoker carb and drilled out the jet, I’ve had it just shy of 40 on the flat and really pinning it. Thats more than fast enough for me on that Hyper frame with its comical imitation of what you call brakes
Are you using the stock carburetor with this setup?
Yes but I can tell you these motors with a 26 inch wheel like a 41 tooth sprocket. I can get over 35 mph no problem with a 41 tooth sprocket. 36 is just too small for this little guy.
@@motorbikesbyjason9083 Impossible with a 5:1 tranny.
Where can i buy this engine? I like it very much i want one for me
NiklaGamer you can buy these engines on eBay
From bike berry
I found it on Ali express for a great price www.aliexpress.com/item/4000205889687.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.168b3c00uPdWcm&mp=1
Have you checked the gear ratio on your tranny? I suspect you're using a 4:1 Grubee belt drive?
Anybody watching this in the present day that may want to do this build... remove the fenders from the bike. Trust me. They will attempt to kill you when they fall off, and they will fall off.
Do you have a hand brake or a pedal brake?. I have the same set up I bought from a guy and it has only a pedal brake?. Hate that part
Yes front brake
@@motorbikesbyjason9083 Appreciate the response. So you have a hand brake infront of the throttle ?
@@skysthelmt5275 I believe it's on the right hand side.
Clutch on left and Hand brake on same side as throttle?.
@@skysthelmt5275 no clutch on the 4 strokes
I've got the same bike except stock motor and 44 tooth sprocket, I'm 200+ ish pounds (don't have a scale was 230) and my max speed is 31mph.
With a 41 tooth I'm doing 36
@@motorbikesbyjason9083 You can only do this with a 4:1 belt drive, a 10T drive sprocket and a 36T rear sprocket. The ebay Chinese belt drives are all 5:1, so you either changed out the rear pulley to 80T to get to 4:1, or you're using a Grubee 4G belt drive with an 80T rear pulley. Because the belt drive is so thin, I suspect you installed an 80T pulley on a Chinese belt drive tranny to get to 4:1.
THE HAVE A 26 TOOTH SPROKET I WONDER HOW MORE FASTER WILL YOU GOING
ON AMAZON
Won't go faster will go slower. Motor won't have enough power to push that tiny sprocket
Would a 40 tooth work for better speeds.
I swapped mine for 38 tooth and I’m 230lbs. Still no need to pedal to start. I’m dropping to 32 next
Not bad for 220lbs and a stock pipe!
I agree I am interested to see what a 41 tooth sprocket will do also.
@@motorbikesbyjason9083 I've just ordered that same kit with the 44 tooth sprocket, I'm not expecting much in top end (I'm about 230lbs) but if your interested I'll let you know what I get for results.
@@franksmith7271 I actually get better top speed with a 41 tooth sprocket and still good torque. I think I got 36 or 37 mph on the Kent oakwood with a 41 tooth with a 26 inch wheel. With a 44 you will get in the high 20s but it will be able to pull you up hills with ease.
@@motorbikesbyjason9083 31mph with my setup, not too shabby...
Also some guys on the forums were saying I should get a 50+ tooth sprocket because of something, (I forgot lol) I'm pretty happy with the top end and I don't have to pedal too crazy to get up hill but it loses speed pretty quick...
@randy s Yes those little 49cc four strokes only have so much power to pull small gears, just a fact. Unless you modify it some. It is what it is.
Max speed test the two stroke broken in a geared they should go 35 easily i perfer the two stroke if u rev above 11000 revs per min you hit the power band and the bike becomes a whole different beast.
"Pushing it to the Limit" simply involves holding the carb throttle all the way open, and waiting for the bike to gain speed. hahahahaha
Cant believe you are really everywhere being a goddamn hater :/
@@lemonhashberry5799 Hater/Shmater, Mr. Simple Mind, that's the best comment that a bump on a log can give. Stick to the issue.
The problem I see is your going that fast on a $98.00 Walmart made in China bike! I know because I did it. It’s not safe!
Can u give us the link of that? I want to try myself out for experimenting mechanical stuffs
Eh it's safe enough I got a $98 bike and put a 2 stroke motor on it, I've gotten it to 32 mph but my carburetor is a bit broken so it doesn't idle
Assuming a 5:1 belt drive gearbox, here's the top calculated speeds. Any reported faster speed would be an inaccurate measurement or going down hill: (26 inch bicycle)
36T rear, 10t drive sprocket equals 30mph
41t rear, 10t drive, equals 26 mph
GPS sometimes overestimates speed by about 4-5 mph.
Only 2 strokes can produce higher speed.
those 2 strokes do NOT produce higher speed. thats why i switched to 4 stroke
