Briggs 5hp flathead for me. Had a handful of them but sold on due to financial troubles at the time. Had a gx390 powered mountain bike at some stage aswell, also sold due to financial problems. That was the dangerous one. Never maxed it out but it was well able to keep up to traffic and sometimes completely pass it out
Great video. I like the top end speed of a 2 stroke..however the noise and smoke nsm. 4 strokes for longer service life and bottom end pull for sure. That little friction set up was kinda cool! Still want to build up a Cruz and 4 stroke.. Just turned 61 and second childhood is pounding down my doors! now to find seeds for a money tree. Someday.
Use high quality synthetic oil and you won't have visible smoke in a two stroke. I use goped oil (small packets) for my GSR goped and it doesn't smoke at all. Happy motoring.☺
I have ur 49cc g7 with a dual chain 5.7 to 1 transmission,420 chain 28tooth final gear on 26inch mags . It does 35mph up any hill in Ypsilanti Michigan. I cut off muffler and clamped on a 19 inch total length straight pipe stock diameter.i cut out 1 inch of the air cleaner cover to clear frame. I turned the mix screw 8 quarters out instead of the 5 quarter turns stock so it runs very rich , because it was way to lean with mods. And use a s7 spark plug rather than the stock s5 plugs , because they allow the engine to hit 8200 rpm on flat or slightly incline at 39mph .it will whip any moped . Ur bike with a 48 tooth will go 40mph , because u will be at a higher rpm at all speeds and will have incredible take off .
Thanks for the reviews.Allot of 'play room' with either kit to do what each person wants.29" tires will add mph each.I look more towards the lower rpm and fuel saving while cruising Under 20mph as it's allot better chance of walking away when something happens, because it can.(traffic, and failures).
I have a 79cc china kit. Using a 44T from a 2 stroke kit. 30 mph is as fast as I want to go. I have a 34 T in my shop. Schwinn Point Beach I bought new years ago. I want a Micargi chopper frame with a girder front end. My wallet says no. Tramp M&S Motorized Bicycles, Corpus Christi, Texas. ( Im retired now)
Great video and surprising results. Curious to see what the top speed of the 49cc friction drive kit would be. Would an additional 10cc's in engine size make any difference in speed?
I have the 49cc with the belt drive transmission and it does 40 mph no sweat. It used to only do about 25 mph when new but now 2 years later, she’s battle tested. I did replace the carb with another stock one
Hey Tony, i bought a used bike with an, i guess a 38cc 4 stroke engine kit on it. The BB bearings were shot, wheels bent etc. i stripped the bike and recently got it done. As rebuilt as new can be. So I'm going to put the BB 38cc back on it. Harbor freight has an open box 97?cc or 99 I'm going to pick up. Will this engine bolt right onto the same plate? I know it'll need slight adjustment to fit but how can i expect??
@@davegoalman6287 check your state laws before removing peddles. most states removing them changes it form a motorized bike to a motorcycle than you have to go though all. the hassle of adding lights getting it inspected and, registering it for plates
I tried the 50cc 4 stroke with 56t sprocket and nt carb. Pulls up steep hills and has top speed of 28 mph.
That’s awesome!
79cc 4stroke is where its at. phatmoto life.🍻🍻🍻
GC 160 on the All Terrain 😁

I go like 30 mph with a 36-tooth sprocket. I always peddle to up to speed before I let the clutch take over so I'm not burning my clutch.
I have an 80cc 2-stroke with a 32 tooth rear sprocket and I get a little over 40mph out of it.

💯 with you on that!

That might just be the extra oomph someone is looking for!

I get 37 mph out of my 53cc 4 stroke
If you eliminate the gear reduction on the 49cc it should have a lot faster top speed you may sacrifice some of the bottom end torque though.
Hey I have a question? So I’m thinking about getting my bicycle a bicycle engine kit but would I need any form of licenses ? In Virginia
Nope 😊
@@tonytaylor5087 awesome thank you!
I think how can I fit 301cc predator engine on a bicycle
Dude don’t do it I tried it and it just destroyed the frame and it’s way more worth just buying a minibike or something trust me bro
Hi, which bikes would you recommend for price quality
Does this work with a wet tire? Or does it slip ?
The blue switz cruz bicycle looks purple online is it blue or purple?
It’s Dark blue. Not a hint of purple whatsoever.

how much is the 37 cc?
Are you to good to answer some ?
I have seen a 49cc go a little bit faster on stock.
Wonderful!
Like 36 mph huh
ASAP
Never a friction drive
I think your clutch and carburetor are holding you back with the 49cc
What would an honest old school Whizzer bike conversion kit cost today?
Tony
Bruh you have a 40 tooth sprocket, that's a lot of teeth for such a high torque motor! You are going to go slowwwww
Not looking for speed
Nice to know that not everyone is but man oh man do I get asked about it all the time. Thank you!
Too slow
Then make yours faster. It’ll do it.
