This is one of the best Ted talks I’ve had yet to see. I enjoyed the way he spoke throughout the entirety of the video; to get each message across. And the fact that it’s over 10 years old. Incredible.
When Simon Sinek made the statement, "Great leaders think, act, and communicate the same way and it is completely backwards from everyone else," he did a fantastic job at both setting up the stage for his platform as well as genuinely grabbing my attention because from that point forward I was invested in his explanation to that statement. The Golden Circle model he created in regards to What, How, and Why is an excellent visual tool that simplified his explanation of how these inspired leaders think from the inside out versus how everyone else thinks from the outside in. I particularly liked how he linked his model to the layers in the human brain and how the outside part of the brain deals with language and the ability to understand figures and facts but the real accomplishment is speaking to the inside part of the brain that drives behavior and where decision-making originates. That is the part of the brain that the inspired leaders talk to and get you to believe in what they believe and create a sense of trust and loyalty as opposed to throwing facts and numbers at you.

I keep coming back to this video every few years and am still shocked at how little of it has been reflected in the minds of our leaders in recent years. It is up to us to do this ourselves! Over and over again - just hoping that something changes! changes nothing! As other wise people have said: Change starts with each individual - immediately! The most difficult thing is to believe - the first step is the most important! and the 2 most difficult - to accept the fact, to accept, that after the first step a second and third and many more will follow and that one also sometimes takes the wrong way, recognizes this and learns - that it is not bad to take another way! Bad is - to stand still!

My all-time favorite video. I loved the book, too. I re-watch this video a couple times a year. The concepts are simple, but being human, it is so easy to forget how important the "why" is. Thank you Simon!
The speech was awesome because he explained with simple examples and the enthusiasm and expressions of authenticity won me over.
people pour their heart, soul and energy not because of you but because they believe in what you believe in. they show up for themselves. words to live by.
its great that successful people have their whys figured to a tee.
I learned more in this 18-minute video than I learned in 10 months of online school.
replace "Apple" with "Tesla" and everything is very accurately said
Vlad Seremet that’s what you believe in
I was thinking about Tesla the whole time... go figure
@@daniellomakovich5704 oh slay Daniel hahaha! I totally was thinking the same thing about the comment above!
Not even close in my opinion hahah
@musofede "loosing a lot of money" And what does that mean? You picked up that it was negative from the media, but you don't know what it means for Tesla.
Bad is - to stand still!
who else is thinking why didn’t I watch the TED talk before the podcasts? August 2023 and still 100 % relevant 👏🏼
I have watched this video a multiple times before today, but today is the first time i have really understood what simon is really trying to communicate. Thankk you for this 💕
Who's here in 2021 with their "Why"?
I love how a plane flies overhead when he's talking about the Wright brothers.
+Tanner Lee I thought it was a background music (as part of presentation)
hahahaha yes
Not the first time he talks about the Wright Brothers, the second time... around 10:30... there is a plane that flies over, you can hear it very distinctly. Good catch man! lol
Haha! I thought that the sound is coming in from my window, from a real airplane. And I thought, nice timing. Until I read your comment. :D

This speech will revolutionise how people or businesses will think and behave..it deals with the exact core. Thanks a lot Simon
Ideas so simple, but his style of delivery is one of the greatest scsmmer of all time.
He plays with words very well and builds up an lovely ambience
That's the reason why young kids starts their first questions with "why..."
I watched this at the perfect time, I have a presentation in a week presenting my idea to a group of people to generate interest and funds
So what happened man, did you do it

I discovered the BE DO HAVE Model in 1974 at the conclusion of an est training at the SF Fairmont Hotel. Learning how to live in this model is a life long lesson.
Every year I watch this video and learn new things. What a amazing talk Simon Sinek presents...
