That last spot you're at usually has smallies loaded up along between the big bridge and the small bridge right next to it. If the irrigation is running on the down-stream side, drop a nightcrawler with a split shot into the bubbles where the water is running in and they slam them all day.
Have any tips for grass carp, my local golf course has a pond not too much bigger than a tennis court that has three grass carp, one 25 pounder, one 40 pounder, and one 30 pounder. They hate bread and corn though, though they will head into my spot and feed on weeds.
@@Birdofthetacklebox yeah if they’re that big they’ve probably been caught before and likely on those baits so they’re gonna be super cautious. Grass carp are also the more finicky species of carp. I’d say use the lightest like you can like 4lb if you can handle the fight, smallest hook you can comfortable use I’d recommend size 6 or 8 so you have a more delicate presentation. Don’t use weights, just freeline some bait out there. I would throw peas on the hook cuz that’s been known to get them especially in your case where they’re eating then green stuff. If not that, I’d try top water bread if they’re eating on the top. Worms will work too
@FishingWithPorter i fished tiera verde today and saw some ppl catch some bass but i pulled out 4 crappies and i also took your advice abt fishing canals i also caught f4 bass
Awesome man! I’m gonna be out in that area more now that I have a good car haha so I’m sure we’ll bump in to each other. Biggest smallie I caught there was 2.25 pounds but there’s gotta be bigger ones, you gotta go back and get that one 💪
I live in Gilbert and really want to fish the canals but all the canals around me say no fishing allowed. How can I find what canals i can fish near by? Any recommendations for Gilbert? Do they enforce the no fishing areas? Than you for your videos!
Hey Tim! There’s only one canal in Gilbert that I’m aware of that’s illegal and that is the Roosevelt Canal, so any other canal like the eastern canal, Western canal, consolidated canal etc are all free game. As long as they are SRP you should be good.as far as enforcement goes it’s hit or miss, I’ve heard some people get heavy fines for Fishing but I’ve never really had an issue, occasionally get kicked out.
Thanks!
Thank you I appreciate you 🙏❤️
