    Better than the other videos I have seen on this subject. I just followed his technique, and not only was it quick, but the cubes came out pretty uniform.

    I never even thought of cutting off the ends first! We've always just cut them in half! That watermelon looks good... 🍉🍉🍉

    Yup, I’ve been using that same technique for over 20 years. The one thing I do different is that I put a dish cloth under the cutting board rather than a baking sheet. The cloth absorbs the juices that spill as well as helping to keep your board from moving around. **Tip: Anytime you’re using a cutting board, put a damp paper towel under it and it won’t move during cutting.

    That sounds perfect cutting! Very impressed. Thanks for the idea, I never thought of cutting the ends first, then placing the watermelon on the flat end and cutting the rind around it. You made it look easy! Thanks for the video.

      A damp towel under the baking sheet keeps it from sliding on the counter, too. 🙂

    I'm a graduate of the Watermelon School. Started out on cantaloupe and work my way up. That's why they call me the melon man.

    This idea is great I follow the directions of course I had to get my sharpest serrated knife thanks for the knowledge I was struggling cutting at the old fashion way cutting it in the middle I thought I was going to hurt myself thanks!!

    I cut my watermelon like this yesterday cause I hate eating it in slices with the rind still on. except I used a crappy knife. might have been a bread knife but it was the longest one I could find.

    One thing important it to always wash your watermelon , other melons before you cut. They have a lot of bacteria the way they are grown and get mixed with other things. You can get sick

      I wash everything I cut in to otherwise your knife is just dragging chemicals and bacteria in to the flesh. Takes an extra 15 seconds.

    I use a melon scoop. Nice round balls. Quick and easy. Minimal mess. Of course, you get irregular pieces as you go, but I'm not a chef in a fancy restaurant. Just a slob "putting food on my family". ;)

    Why do you use a serrated knife to cut the watermelon? Ive never seen a chef's knife like that. Does the serrations make a huge difference? I'm curious. I'm teaching myself at 48, how to cook. I watch a lot of cooking shows on tv & UA-cam, currently watching Gotdon Ramsay, but no one explains why you use a particular knife.

      Riya Yuvi Some fruit in America are genetically engineered to have no seeds in them. They are unnatural but many Americans do not like the seeds

      Aditi Dutta these are the American mellon that's why it doesn't have seed and English cucumber and other seedy fruits and vegetables have less seed or no seeds in it.
