Hi im still new to taking care of fish~ i was wondering, i have a gravel base. Which plants would you recommend for me to grow? Also, if i do keep plants, how would this change the way i clean the tank (gravel vacs etc.)
Get Java fern and Amazon swords if you want and Java moss they are very easy to keep, and you can still use gravel vacuums as long as you don't have carpeting plants.
One old standard is Cryptocoryne balansae. It will survive anything until you learn to use more light and fertilize and it just takes off..more controlled than Vallisneria and more interesting to look at with dimpled long narrow leaves. A new upstart is Star Grass,Heteranthera zosterifolia. Another that grows in dimmest light or in full hot sun. Amazing range and a fast grower. Naturally the less light the more it will stretch, much light and it could be pruned to be a thick carpet..a shag carpet I guess..ha.
Why would mosses slowly die off in my aquariums when every other plant does great? Java and Xmas have died off I have well water had water tested for everything and it always comes back fine, led lights using good liquid fert and root tabs under swords and crypts ect.
I'm also interested in the stands...very cool.
All the plants you mentioned do fine in my tanks EXCEPT Val. I love that plan tbut have never had any luck with them.

New subscriber. Im interested in your tank stands. Did you have them built or DIY? Id love to see a video on the subject.
