My mum gets her yoghurt from a local farm which sells home made yoghurt in plastic tubs. I get these tubs from my mum and propagate carpeting plants in those. Growing plants in tubs is awesome! They just get day/sun light. May not grow as fast as yours but I get a lot of daylight due to large windows both sides of my apartment.
I was like meh, because i am lazy person, until i saw roots you got on them. This is totally way to go for me, because they have always so small roots, when you buy them and planting isnt easy. These will also be stronger against algae at beginning. Thanks
❤ That's a great idea for sure , and I have had a lot of issues with Cuba in the past but seeing what you can do especially now that I have CO2 in a few of my tanks but I will be starting w Monte Carlo and hopefully it will be my first carpet !!
What a brilliant idea I have the same plants in some of my tanks that I took your tip of glass across the back corners, I'm interested to see your new tank 😊
The plants growing in tub will have the same leaves as if they were growing up submerged? People said the leaves are different and when you put them back from tub to water, the leaves will "melt" and need to wait for the "submerged leaves" tol grow back.
Hi friend! Absolutely love your videos! I have a question, did you ever measure performance of your ugf filters? How much water do they usually run in 1 hour? If not, can you measure it please? I have a freshly started ugf box, and I not sure, is this flow that I have right now is exactly right for this setup
I love your videos so much. I can tell you really enjoy what you do and it makes me happy. Is there a way I can donate to you to show appreciation? Your videos are so entertaining and very informative! thank you. Also when I do finally get my shrimp room ready, where is the best way to buy shrimp from you? Thanks again bro :)
You are very welcome to do so. The best way is to use the 'thanks' button on UA-cam or order something from my eBay shop. You can also buy some shrimp in my shop, depending on where you are.
Hi, really enjoyed the video! I have had some trouble growing moss fast lately and was wondering what exact lights you use for your rack? Looks like its growing the carpeting plants really nicely as well! If I could please get an exact link to where you got it from, that would be great! Thanks again, excited for your next upload!
I would do another way around reuse your old soil from your shrimp tank, just dry it first and then add some compost to add nutrients and you good to go.
The mosses don't need substrate to grow so they can't get nutrients from it. I saw some people spray them with some fertilizer mix to supply some nutrients for them, I guess that's how it works.
Hey man as a beginner in thia hobby i have a quick question this method is emersed so if i grow my carpeting plant like this will these plant work fine and healthy underwater in my tank?
Do you clean the containers before? Do you use soil that has been outside? Try fresh soil (or another medium like stratum)! Use less water (just enough to dampen the soil) Open the containers every week for a few minutes to let in fresh air (make sure it doesnt get too dry!) if that doesnt work, your light might be too bright or too warm :) Hope it helps!

Yes I tried to plant them into one of my tank and the deference is huge - planting is easy and plants growing much faster compared to invitro plants.
What about acclimating them to water? How much dies off?

Go for it! Monte Carlo is even easier
Make a video how to setup this grass carpet in tank....?
THIS is exactly what I was looking for Thank You!!! 🐠 🌱
Glad I was helpful😊

Thank you for sharing this. But 8 weeks ain't "no time" as you mentioned in 2:20 😆
Hi, I would like to know how long do you open your LED light? 7/24 or 8 hours per day? thank you
Can we grow shrimps the same way?
I wish we can Mark😆
I will try and let you know Mark .
Will doing this indoor cause any pests to get inside the bins?
Thank you for the awesome video. How long did you leave the lights on? 24 hours? Or 10 hours/day? Thank you
@@ljshome2 10 hours a day roughly
Great video I’d love to try this! Where do you buy the Aquatic compost, and the Nutrient base?

@@ffffaaaaiiii these plants grow very good in my aquarium, much better than invitro plants
Wow how much water do you put on the containers? I wanna try it out
I'm looking at montecarlo atm this video is amazing! Will they have a problem after transferring into water? Thanks!
You need to supply additional co2 because they are used to more co2 emerged than later on submerged under water
@@Pomudachi Thanks!
You can add some springtails to fight against molds
good idea!

Hair grass & montecarlo are also fun to keep like this ..they are faster growing than hc cuba
Question what garden compost you use to mix with aqua soil? and is it 50/50 ?

Thats super cool,am gonna try it.
Can we reuse the soil for a shrimp tank after this ? Thanks
I would do another way around reuse your old soil from your shrimp tank, just dry it first and then add some compost to add nutrients and you good to go.
What is your water change routine and how much % do you change for a old running tank.
Thank you for 500 subscribers❤❤❤❤
Congrats man!
i have some seeds to try i hope work, good video
Do you put fertilizer?
I did this with potting soil but now there’s a lot of mold/white fluffy stuff growing everywhere in the dirt. Any tips?
Put some springtails in there, they are bugs that eat mold
Received my ner today 👌
@@MrG.Ivan76 glad to hear mr G
Where can I get your ugf ?
And please explain your water change routine while your cycling from day one .
Is it weekly or daily and how many %
All the links in the description. I normally change 50% of water biweekly during the cycle
does he wear the vest with I am American imprint on it ?
I kept a few Monte carlo in a pot with aqua soil, and it filled the whole box in 1 year
Good video love it😊
Glad you enjoyed it
Can you use sunlight on them instead of aquarium lights?
I think you can but if you did use sunlight is may not have as good as an effect as aquarium lights
@@Sophsoapy thanks!
hi...
8 weeks you didnt even re mist them? you just leave them under the lights and covered tight lid?
thank you.
Thanku so much
Great video.
Glad you liked it Jon
What aqua soil did you use?
First time ada amazonia old soil (used in my tanks before) the second time Ista shrimp ph 5.5
@ cool thank you!
Awesome bro
Thanks 🤗
Hello dude...
Pliss compare platinum soil vs master soil in your new set up for caridina? Coz ada amazonia very expensive for me... Hehehe
Ok hehehehehehehehe. Only if you can spell correctly.
do you think this same method will work with tissue cultures of flame and spikey moss? I'm not sure how well these mosses grow immersed..
The mosses don't need substrate to grow so they can't get nutrients from it. I saw some people spray them with some fertilizer mix to supply some nutrients for them, I guess that's how it works.
Fascinating
Yes it is 🐜🌷⚘

What is your ambient temperature? Mine was 32, tropical humidity, and I still fail to grow it

Can I spray liquid fertilizer too ?
I never tried but can't see why not
@ShrimpMania thanks 👍
Hey man as a beginner in thia hobby i have a quick question this method is emersed so if i grow my carpeting plant like this will these plant work fine and healthy underwater in my tank?
yes why not
I always encounter mould during dry starts, how did you get away with that?
This was my first terrestrial grow and I didn't even know you can have issues with the mold, I guess I was lucky
Boss mate 👌🏼
Can I use garden soil? Aqua soil is a bit expensive in my place
You can try, it should work
🔥🔥
Do you open it for some air?
first time yes but almost didn't open it in the second grow
@@ShrimpMania thank you for the response 🙏
during 8 weeks, did you spray the plants..?
only a few times
Please do another example with a real grass. Or a plant that doesn’t resemble chias
Can I do this method with my perl weed plant?
I haven't done it myself but this method should work for most of the aquatic plants
Did you experience mold issues?
Nope I didn't
From where did people bought those plants in the cup? The one named 1-2 Grow.. Im curious, cuz I really need that kind of products, super fresh

What Led Light are you using?

What happens when the soil loses all its buffering capacity in the tank? How are you going to replace the soil with carpeting plants in it?
Normally you can add some fertilisers into the tank to feed your plans
Aquasoil buffers for like 2-3 years
ADA Amazonia should not lose the buffering for at least a year!
