Hello! Thank you so much for creating these helpful videos! I have a couple questions about the micro sword plant. 1) can it be planted in gravel? 2) if so, how do you clean the gravel without destroying the plants? Thank you!
Hi 👋I love your channel so much and I have some glowlight and silver tip tetras and I was wondering if you could do a video of how to easily breed one of those species😁😊😲😁
Anubias doesn't grow in gravel, if you bury the rhizome it will die. Elodea, swords, crypts will all grow in gravel. You need root tabs for them to grow faster in gravel. Anubias, java ferns and bucealandra can all grow tied to a rock or ornament or glue the rhizome to rock/driftwood but don't glue the roots.
Hello Thanks a lot for this nice vedio and excellent plants . I have a question please some of this plant are root feeder so can i plant them in a normal aquarium gravel ?? Do i need to insert fertilizing tablet near the roots ? Do i need to use fertilizing in luquid. My aquarium is juwel so i will be using juwel led .thanks
I got my very own anubias and several days later it got brown spot all over the damn leaves, even though I fertilize it two times a week. Then today I just found out it was just dirt. This is the same case for my Java Fern too. So basically I'm stressed out for no reason for a few days.
Java Fern is wild. Ive got dozens of new plants propagating on the existing leaves. Im in the middle of the nitrogen process, so Im attributing it to the massive amounts of nutrients in the water....all plants are growing like theyre infused with CO2, but so far Java Fern is the most interesting. My entire aquarium is going to be filled with them. Not to mention, Ive yet to have an ammonia reading. Plants are the very best filters that cannot be replicated by humans.
Once Me and my dad , and his friend went out on a fishing trip.We sadly didn't catch any fish, but we caught a lot of wild coontail plants. We decided to keep some of it and that we would put some of it in our pond. and well, we still use it for fish tanks and stuff and found that It's basically impossible to kill, the only way I've ever managed to kill it was by leaving it out of water for 50 hours plus. you don't aquarium fertilizers and it doesn't look bad either. If you can get your hands on it, Highly recommend.
I agree. What I can add is that Vallisneria likes my aquarium water unadulterated. It has always grown willdy great IF,i did not add fertilizers or Iron or potassium. Its also done best as the main plant..not too many other species. It also you will find grows very fast and dense if you have an aquarium that gets a couple of hours of sunlight a day. Vallisneria is immune to hair algae and pretty much any kind of algae growth on its leaves. I mean,if you have a big tank and want just one plant to look like a stream..Val will do it. In fact,I just remembered..Amano did have a big tank in his gallery..just straight leaved Val.
Probably my biggest mistake was removing the water sprite I use to have floating on the top of my 75 gallon tank just because I saw some black beard algae growing on some of the roots. Cause I didn't realize it was preventing the BBA from growing on the rest of my amazon swords and dwarf hair grass, I actually thought it was spreading the BBA. But after a year of removing the water sprite I am now dealing with a major BBA outbreak that covers most of my amazon swords and Dwarf hair grass, my algae eaters can't keep up with the spread of BBA. To add insult to self-inflected injury, I lost all of my Amano shrimp, Bamboo shrimp and freshwater gobies about a month after removing the Water Sprite.

Thanks Kid 👍🏼🙏
Very helpful video!
