Hi aquarium co-OP! I'm browsing your website and I was wondering what state you are shipping from. It's probably listed somewhere and I glossed over it ;) I'm in Massachusetts trying to gage shipping time and path. Thanks for all the interesting and helpful content! ✌plant love! 💚
It’s only after one has been in the hobby for years that one learns the true value of live plants. For almost 8 years I kept fish and and artificial plants. Over filtration was my motto given at the local PetSmart. Fast forward the last two years and all my tanks are now planted and am taking extra filtration away!
That’s why I love this life style. You learn something new all the time. I’m not gonna lie though I use those fake guppy grass patches and they work so well, but yah real plants rule👍🏽
MR.FACTS ARE RACIST am guilty of having the little fake plants in my fake center wood piece decoration only, even that evenly will be natural. Now am thinking more light. The hobby needs to keep evolving or I get bored
I was lucky to start out with a heavily planted aquarium- I went on vacation for almost a month and my roommates did not touch the tank except to feed the fish. No water changes, not even water top offs. If it wasn't a jungle in there, I'm sure I'd have come back to a fishy massacre, instead they were all happy and healthy.
Me too lol I used to run two 75G aqueon hob filters for a 55G Now I’m settling in my 110 aquaclear hob and phasing out the last of the two aqueon hob Ton of plants in the 55g low tech rainbow fish tank I have 5 tanks now the only one that isn’t planted is the goldfish tank😤😆 I have yet to bother planting that tank as it’ll be a waste of time lol
I have had anubias rot a few times, Twice I caught when the plant was about half way gone, using a scissors I removed everything that was soft, and a bit of rhizome that the soft parts were touching. Plants survived in both cases.
I could be in the foulest mood and as soon as I see Murphy with his toothy smile he makes me so happy and instantly I feel better just from watching a bunch of these old you tube videos.
Ditto, aquarium supplies in Ireland are woeful. It's got to the point where I am experimenting with native Irish water plants in the warmer water temps.
So excited to be ordering plants from you! I think it would be really cool if you did some beginner plant Combos/Packs! Either way stoked to get my hands on some!
Aquarium Coop's customer experience is top notch! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I got some plants and a 'Fluval Fresh & Plant 2.0' a few years ago, and the plants came in healthy and beautiful (I'm from Texas, so they had to ship across the country.) What impressed me most however is how they unyielding kept to their return policy: I had waited months for the release of Fluval's 'Planted 3.0 LED' and had grown tired of waiting, so I settled for the 2.0 (the best at the time.) The light arrived and worked perfectly, but 20 days after purchasing the 2.0, the 3.0 was officially released! Coop has a 30-day return window on Lights, so I requested a return, and they accepted without question. I then ordered the 3.0 (Fluval Plant 3.0 LED) from Aquarium Coop (who had it in stock the same week it released) and the rest is history. My 3.0 is still running strong to this day, and I love!
Over the last month or so, we have ordered several mentioned in the above list so we can see what would work in our tank. All are doing wonderful!! We love them all!!! Our 3 lily bulbs came just last week because they went out of stock briefly, and all had little stuff growing off of them already. My daughter's now already has sprouts and is beginning to show leaves. So fun to watch while we are waiting on her tank to cycle any day now. We did order all lower light plants that did not require co2 since we are beginners with plants. Very good price! I am glad I watched this. I planted my octopus plant mentioned (I can't ever remember real the name) all together. I will have to separate the stalks. There were 4 in there! Thank you!!! Will keep ordering from you all!!
mad respect for how you operate Cory! love to watch your videos always very informative non bias, thurough and straight forward. UA-cam and Corona virus has me back in the fish hobby after 15 years. 4 planted comunity tanks later I think I have multi tank syndrome.... thanks for the awesome videos and all the inspiration!
I did a single dwarf sag pot in a 125 gallon. Over the course of 1 year, that single dwarf sag carpeted the entire tank. Only downfall was it out-competed my monte carlo and crypts and choked those out. Pogo octopus was another plant that took off insanely in my tank. I used to trim it like a hedge every other week and it came in as dense as a boxwood. Mine became an insanely dense plant by 'hedge trimming' it this way. Fish loved it and a lot of 'surprise' fry grew out in it! The bottoms were a tad bare (only the top was dense and full where i kept hedge trimming) both those 'naked-knees' (to borrow a term from rose care and growing), were hidden by other plants and drift wood.
An absolute master of your craft. Learned everything I know about the hobby from you, with success. Thank you. Keep it coming. Love the setup behind you👌👌👌
I bought one of those octopus plants from you guys a year ago. I already have it in several different aquariums growing like mad. I always throw it in a new tank to help keep nitrates down while I’m getting it established.
Great topic! I have 3 of the plants you mentioned. My dwarf sag is in a nano tank and I have to dose with iron occasionally to keep it from dissolving away. Now its healthy, but very slow growing. I must have more light on it than I thought because it stays about 1-2 inches tall. A small group of ottocinclus make sure any algae is quickly removed from the sag's blades.
I have three dwarf Lily’s in a ten gallon, it’s taken over & im considering moving some of the bulbs into different tanks. They are my favorite plants!
when I started my first planted tank I bought a bunch of different kinds to see what I liked/what did well in my water. Crypts, anubias, and dwarf sag have done the absolute best for me
Been following the channel for some time and thought I would order some plants and other stuff from these guys and I was very impressed at the quality of the plants and the way they where shipped. I couldn't recommend them enough.
Dwarf lily bulbs are amazing! The pads growing to surface will grow 8 inches per day once they get started. After time, they will get bushy. Gorgeous and easy plant.
Really thankful for all the info you guys put out. As a person new to the hobby, this channel has been a great source of reliable information. Also just ordered from you guys and your shipping is lightening fast!
Hey Corey I can't stress how helpful you have been to this newbie. New sub here thank you for doing what you do. I'm hooked and I am trying to save my rescue from ich.
I have made a few orders from your website and will continue too support your buisness! I just got an order in yesterday with some sponge filter stuff and everything I have bought including your Easy Green has been great! You have a long time customer!
The title of this should have been, "We sell plants." I buy plants from Aquarium Co-Op. I've bought from other sellers, in my experience no other seller packs with as much care as you. I use and am happy with Easy Green. But this was a commercial with a touch of info.
Would you please make a video that goes over different water parameters for plants? It seems to be the consensus that plants are easier to grow in soft water. I have hard water and am interested to see how that impacts plant growth and what you can do to combat it. I have ordered quite a few plants and it seems crypts do well, but have trouble with almost all other stem plants growing well. I have a sting ray that is on for a majority of the day. I use easy green and have used root tabs as well.
For my tank the single plant that transformed it the most was the Dwarf Lilly I bought from Cory's place. It took over the tank and has continuously produced huge lilies and flowers from about 3 months onward. The flowers are huge and grow out of the tank so I have to leave the lid up for them. I have to trim it weekly or the large pads shade out the rest of the tank. I have many other plants but that was transformed my tank instantly.
Thank you for your videos Cory. I adopted a poor goldfish that sat in the classroom of one of my colleagues for about a year in a small bowl and after finding your videos, I immediately moved him into a larger tank and now I’m fully addicted to the hobby. Planting the tank up and planning my second one!!! I do have 2 questions though: I notice that my goldfish is smaller than I feel like he should be after doing research. Did he spend too long in a small space with no filtration? I bought a 10gallon for him bc that was the quickest thing I could get my hands on. Seems like he has plenty of space, considering his size. Do I need to upgrade also for him to keep growing or does he likely have internal growth problems? I check the water parameters and do water changes multiple times a week. Thank you in advance for answering. I’m really eager to learn from you!
Depends on how long he was in a confined spaced. I think since you're loving the hobby, you'd enjoy a larger tank as well. If you can get a tank from the dollar per gallon sale. I'd grab a 29 gallon for this goldfish and see if you can't get it a bit larger to a more normal size. I think you'll have more fun with it as well.
I have purchased a ton of aquatic plants from Aquarium Co-Op, ALL but one (which was replaced) are doing fantasmical!!! Growing and spreading with great ease!!! I use the tabs, and the water fertilizer to boost their nutrients!! I am 100% gun-ho with Aquarium Co=Ops plants!!! Definitely the best packaging and arrivals!!!
Dwarven sagittaria took over my 90 gal tank in just two month. Root tabs, little CO2 and strong light. With 12 inch its almost at the level of the jungle val.
I been buying from u on my wife’s acount everything has dune good so far after watching this man I’ll buy a lot more I been on ups and down buying on the web but u seem pretty straight about stuff
I got a pogostemen octopus the other week from you guys and its doing well so far. :) As well as a crypt and water sprite. Hopefully they'll grow nicely long term!
I definitely recommend the plants from these guys, they have came very healthy for me and Im all the way up here in Michigan. The plants always came in one piece and full of color and just healthy. My fish have bad habits though and eat them for some reason. I have corydora that are garbage disposals and mystery snails and shrimp and they just non stop eat and eat and eat. So plants do not last long for me. My baby dwarf tears I planted in the substrate with the pot and everything to let them carpet. Within 24 hours there was nothing left they just got eaten. I was sad
Im one of those that say anubias should have access to soil in the substrate. Rhizome never buried but in my tank I have 4 different types of anubias, tank has worm castings topped with gravel. The plants that have access to it, put out multiple leaves in a week, no c02. The ones glued to a rock with roots in the water column 1 leaf every couple weeks. They really benefit from that fertilizer. I plan gluing a little baggie of substrate to any I wish to put on rocks or driftwood. Also thier roots are beastly. Can reach deep into the substrate with some bigger roots as opposed to alot of smaller roots. This is important when you have deep substrate. They oxygenate around thier roots helping prevent too much anaerobic areas, plus helping other plant's roots that aren't as hardy
Cory, do you know this dude named Father Fish! He is like this old school fishkeeper, lowkey looks like dumbledore or gandalf, he talks a lot like the couple with awesome fish tanks in san fransisco, ocean aquarium, you should definitely check him out, his vids and tanks are major beginner friendly, will definitely help change people fish tank experience for the better!
Hello.. Ive been following you for several years now. Talking floating plants.. I am recently trying out water lettuce. I have it starting off in the 2ft x 3ft center section of my sump. I have a 6500k Current Led about 1 foot above the water level. I occasionally sprinkle them with water. They arrived with some yellow, but seem to be settling in. When they start to spread, and have good root systems, Im gonna transfer several up to the 1000gallon maintank above.. Do you have suggestions ? Thanks !!
I love the plants in my aquarium but i need help in my goldfish tank. Its a 55 gallon, goldfish, dojos, hillstreams. Plants don’t grow. If they do they get eated by my goldies. What do you suggest?
I feel Java fern warrants more attention. It's hardy, does well in low light, isn't readily eaten as many other plants and grows slowly but surely. I've kept abubias and crypts and only the Java survived the fishes and suffered water quality issues. Not to mention it's a lovely plant in general.
@@AquariumCoop One thing I'd add is that because of the 'free-floating and anchor onto something' nature of the plant, I've been witness to some very interesting and peculiar anchorings. Plant doesn't grow as quickly as one nestled near substrate but does just fine. Just another bit of versatility.
Dont know if it was officially "anubias rot" , but I have had luck two separate times with plants that started dying with mushy rhizomes by raising them to where the leaves were partially above water level. This seems to really jump start their growth and help their vigor. Both times I was able to position the plant totally submerged after a couple of months and they have done well since. One was nana petite but I don't remember what the other variety was, they were purchased at my LFS. I would be interested in knowing if anyone else has tried this.
My sister gave me a Aponogeton boivinianus. You had one in a video you did years ago in your wife’s tank. It’s a super easy plant that completely took over my aquarium. If I would have know how big it would have gotten, I wouldn’t have planted any other plants. It’s since bloomed and now, it might be finally dying back. I went to pull it out and I think it has cemented itself to the tank. 🤷🏼♀️ Any suggestions besides breaking down the entire tank?
Hey I got a plant in my betta tank it seemed to grow quite a bit of roots at first but now there slowly dying I dont know if it's not enough neutraints in the tank or its cuz the gravel is to heavy? If u could give me advice on how to grow plants better and faster that would be great!😁👍
Friend of mine found me a tiger lotus bulb in a local pond. Yes I cleaned it well. Have had it almost a year and it is beautiful. Always get comments on it. Really wanna try dwarf aquarium lilies.
How do you use the Easy Green that you sell for the plants? Is it safe for snails? How many pumps do you use for a 5 gallon betta tank? How often should it be used for the plants? Also, do you also use the root tabs w the Easy Green?
I am glad he said that he makes an allowance for plants that were delivered near death. Several days passed between shipment and delivery for my purchase. It is because he relied on USPS to make the shipment rather than shipping by a more efficient carrier such as overnight shipping which is better when what is being shipped is alive. I have not yet filed a claim with Aquarium Co-Op because my plant might still be alive if its roots are still alive. The plant is a Scarlet Temple.
I just ordered a tiger lilly bulb, dwarf grass, water sprite, and Anubias nana 'petite'. I also accidentally ordered 2 thigns of fertilizer, but at least it will last my 75 gallon tank about 140 weeks haha.
Hey corey great video. Have a question off this subject. In regards to to sponge filters what size would I need and how many for a 75 gallon tank. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance
I am setting up new aquarium first time in 30 years old school luv under gravel filters. what plants will work nothing established 50gal tank. plan to populate with shrimp and small fish. thanks
Amaaaazing video as always cory.... Go to aquarium co-op. You can not absolutely not buy a bad product there. It may not be the right product for you but i guarantee it will be QUALITY.
Cory, What is a good plant or what are good plants for Cichlid tanks? I have pothos in my Overflow box on my two 150 gallon tanks and also in my 55 gallon sumps and my 29 gallon sumps. The pothos have taken off and are growing so fast and full. I want to add more plants that will help remove the nitrates from the tanks and also to make the tanks look better. Any ideas? Thanks Cory

Hey Corey, can you do a video about what your new (updated) medications are for treating fish?
I never had good luck growing plants till i seen you on UA-cam thanks Corey

Living in Canada, I am unable to buy plants from you, but I do use your site to research my plant purchases. You guys are a wealth of information.
Aquarium Coop's customer experience is top notch! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I got some plants and a 'Fluval Fresh & Plant 2.0' a few years ago, and the plants came in healthy and beautiful (I'm from Texas, so they had to ship across the country.)
What impressed me most however is how they unyielding kept to their return policy:
I had waited months for the release of Fluval's 'Planted 3.0 LED' and had grown tired of waiting, so I settled for the 2.0 (the best at the time.)

Great video!
I wish we have Aquarium Co-op on this side of the world.
I know you can.t ship plants to canada but you give me great ideas for a planted tank
I dig plants out of the ditches that stay flooded. We have some Boggs around here. I use them in the koi pond. Can I move them to tank life?
I definitely recommend the plants from these guys, they have came very healthy for me and Im all the way up here in Michigan. The plants always came in one piece and full of color and just healthy. It’s called a Mbu puffer
It's murphy

Thanks !!
I'll have to come buy some new plants soon :)
Really love tall plants, so I will get some plants like Sagittaria
I like Elodea Densa, it's invaded a local pond near me so I phoned the council and they said I could take as much as I want. Its brilliant.
thank you! I have been wanting to change my scape
The anubias nages awesome. Any types of Anubis plants are just phenomenal I would love to just do a tank with only different kinds of anubias
I love the plants in my aquarium but i need help in my goldfish tank. Its a 55 gallon, goldfish, dojos, hillstreams. Plants don’t grow. If they do they get eated by my goldies. What do you suggest?
I wish you have sort by fertilizer like easy green plants or root tabs plants option in the website.
Finally was able to order some of those banana plants! Can't wait to see my Betta sleep on them :)
I feel Java fern warrants more attention. It's hardy, does well in low light, isn't readily eaten as many other plants and grows slowly but surely. I've kept abubias and crypts and only the Java survived the fishes and suffered water quality issues. Not to mention it's a lovely plant in general.
They grow so slowlyyyy! But yes they are great for certain tanks!
I agree, I just Already have 2 or 3 videos on java fern specifically.
Always like ur stuff, no matter wht it is . Great info an seem so transparent.....to bad ur so far away....lol
If u could give me advice on how to grow plants better and faster that would be great!😁👍
Cool vid
Friend of mine found me a tiger lotus bulb in a local pond. Yes I cleaned it well. Have had it almost a year and it is beautiful. Always get comments on it. Really wanna try dwarf aquarium lilies.
Hello. New to the hobby. Does having a planted tank take the place of doing gravel/substrate vacuuming?
Anubias is 👌🏽👌🏽
Plant suggestions for fluval flex 15 gallon. Going for shrimp too.
I like to know that as well. I running a 360 Marineland canister filer.
Hey Corrie, do you have any suggestions for plants that do well in sanded tanks?
Dwarf Sag does well and the dwarf aquarium lily bulb. I find crypts tend to do ok as well.
@@AquariumCoop Awesome, thank you! I'll have to do some plant shopping for my 60 gallon angel tank and my 75 liverbearer tank
Do you talk about shipping plants as in how long they can be in the mail or shipping in the cold?
What kind of guppies are these at 4:30? Even the females are poppin.
Cory,
What is a good plant or what are good plants for Cichlid tanks? I have pothos in my Overflow box on my two 150 gallon tanks and also in my 55 gallon sumps and my 29 gallon sumps. The pothos have taken off and are growing so fast and full. I want to add more plants that will help remove the nitrates from the tanks and also to make the tanks look better. Any ideas?
Thanks Cory

I'd like to personally vouch for crypt wendtii bronze being nearly un-killable. My first plant, I'm using a desk lamp and it's huge!

Hi ! Would you be able to ship to Canada in any chance of the living plants or animals ?
