    What impressed me most about Mitch was clearly even when coming second in several events, like the elephant bar press, he clearly could have done more, same with some other events where it was clear he was not nearly pushing himself as hard as the other competitors... I wonder if that helped him keep so consistent across the entire event. But it is also clear he isnt even close to setting his best pr yet... a few improvements in select events and he will be near impossible to stop baring no injuring.. Wish him the best coming up, as a fellow Canadian he is really doing us proud. It's funny because i was not following world's strongest man for over a year, and had just watched some Eddie and Brian movies, so I wondered who was the next Canadian to take up representing our nation, and only to find out Hooper is not only representing us proud, he is owning this year... bravo to him....

      What I also like about Arnold over WMS is: 1) no hot exotic location where 400 lb guys suffer under the blazing sun -- at Arnold and Shaw the real fans get to watch as well; 2) good static events, not speed events that are tests of speed more than strength; 3) seeing most of the lifts -- though sadly not all -- but WSM has in the past skipped over the entire log lift!; 4) no delay in showing it; 5) no frills or extra stuff -- just the lifts.

      @craigwheeler4760 Рік тому +2

      The last event is good for "grip and back" stamina too. You try marching up a steep ramp with heavy suit cases in your hands.. it's taxing in the extreme. The first guy to complete the ramp was Zydrunas Savickas. The first year Arnold Strongman was held seriously, Big Z was the only guy to get up the ramp. It's that brutal of an endurance and grip test.

I mean it's cool seeing Rogue, Rep Fitness, SBD, and the big guys but there used to be smaller companies that had cool stuff. The smaller supplement manufacturers are generally better than the vitamin shop stuff but they seem to be less of them there. Lots of people selling clothes that can only be classified as cringe. It's getting pricey for what it's become. Add in travel expenses, which for me isn't bad as it's a only 2 hour drive for me. He has nothing to do here. First right now he is retired and had been competiting in the masters category. And the only reason he keot appearing in the scene is because he is friends with the giant live crew who kept inviting him over and iver again in their show and wsm. Besides his grip he was never a top level guy.

    What is the guy with the stick doing, following the athletes on the wheel of pain ? That better not be the way they measure the distance, because I’m no genius, but that’s not the most efficient or precise way to do it
