    Thanks for the video.
    Why not drain the fluid with the possibility of debri in it from the bottom where I believe the sediment would settle?
    I’m no mechanic but I’m learning.
    Thanks man.

      Hi there and very sorry for the delay Christopher. Just saw this comment. During the course of this coolant change, I drained the fluid from the lower radiator hose by removing the radiator hose from the radiator. This drained everything from both the engine block and the radiator. I then removed the upper radiator hose and flushed with fresh water both into the block and into the radiator to get all the sediment out of the system. To be honest, I really had very little to no sediment come out of the system. The water was discolored and I flushed with the engine running until the water ran clear. Does this answer your question?

    I have a 05 CTS-V I change my radiator to a Dewitts and put in a bigger fan that pulls 4,000 CFM, change the thromostat also and my temperature on the freeway running at 185 and seating in traffic im at 200 so thats a huge difference

      Great mods... my CTS-V gets hot in traffic until the fan kicks in. But runs good. Did you get a tune for that change?

      @@DrivingIntelligence All I did was a change the thermostat, coolant hoses top and bottom, bigger radiator and the high out put double dual fan and took off the resonator for straight air flow and my temperature stays all the way down

    Whats was the process for filling it up from the reservoirs?

    • @DrivingIntelligence
      @DrivingIntelligence  4 роки тому

      Thanks for the question. I'm not sure I understand your question. There is one reservoir for the cooling system as shown in the video. Can you clarify your question?

    • @isaiahhopson7733
      @isaiahhopson7733 4 роки тому

      I noticed you showed a picture of your father helping top off the reservoir, is there any other steps to it after topping it off the initial time

    • @DrivingIntelligence
      @DrivingIntelligence  4 роки тому +1

      @@isaiahhopson7733 , one of the tricks I use to burp the system is to squeeze and release the upper radiator hose. This can help move the fluid through the engine. But BE VERY CAREFUL since you are so close to rotating parts.

    Most cars you are only suppose to run distilled water through them.

    • @DrivingIntelligence
      @DrivingIntelligence  2 роки тому +1

      It’s a good point, but with proper anti-freeze you get somewhat around the need for distilled water as the antifreeze prevents scaling, corrosion and rust. If you live in very hard water areas, then it’s a good idea to use distilled water. Flushing a cooling system with distilled water is not practical.
