Great choice on the Link ECU mate! They're made in my home town of Christchurch, New Zealand! Always amazing to see them being used in peoples cars around the world!
I've just discovered your channel and I'm loving these videos. Just managed to get hold of a blacktop and am looking forward to doing something with it in the future. Had to buy some stcikers too as I'm a bit obsessed with stickers 😂. Thanks from the UK 🇬🇧
Cars looking awesome man love your style. A filter relocation or even some heat shielding on that filter should help keep oil temps down, but please don't space it even closer to headers!
Keep going! The car is really coming together. I'm still amazed that I am able to watch the car be put together with the level of care that I had hoped to achieve.
Yeah the blacktop uses oil fast, have to change my oil every 3k kilo's, I'm not running any cooler in my ae111 though, your setup is dope! looking forward to another upload
Hey, wondering if you have any quick answers about tuning your COP setup. Is it running sequential ignition? Are you getting your cam position signal off the distributor?
i am about to go look at a pretty clean example of an AE86 sr5 coupe, and i want to do the gts rear end conversion, and have done plentiful research on all of that. however, in my times of research, i've found that a 20v swap is typically the best so i am deciding to go that route if i end up getting the car. however, i want to get all of my research done before i even purchase the car. how difficult is this swap in comparison to one that would require full custom work? are parts readily available similar to other cars such as my current one? (350z) i just want to make sure i have everything clear before going into this project as it is my first serious build. thanks in advance!
Why did you end up going with the ecu/coilpacks? I only ask because I wanna do a 20v swap and actually prefer the look of the relocated distributer, and it would be cheaper :/
If you don’t mind sharing: what issues did you have with the old (factory relocated) ignition setup? Havr one like that myself but I am still working on the car so have no real life experience with it, only a couple drives around the block. If there are real issues with such a setup I might look into going COP. Thanjs
I have a corolla with a 4age but it has the 16v efi head. Do you think i could cop one of these heads and just slap it on there with maybe a new computer as well?
Hey riley! Is it hard or complex to street tune? I kinda want to get an aftermarket ecu for my 1986 fc so i can squeeze some more power from my streetport but i never tuned before :/
yay I found my name in the list!! so stoked to being able to support this build and its future!
me too! I can't wait for my stickers lol my car be waiting
oil temp is high because the oil filter is so close to headers. Wrap or shield inbetween will get those temps down

Your dry humor and sarcasm in your videos always entertain me and make me laugh. The BEST on You tube bar none.

I love those old analoge gauge clusters. Personally I prefer that over the computerized screens they have now.
It’s crazy how I own an ap1 S2000 and a 17 WRX yet I still fanboy over the AE86, I hope to find a hatch one day. It’s one of my dream cars!

Wrap the header or wrap the filter or both
If you're on stock cams idle should be around 850 from memory.
Bro is that an ae101 in the background! Review it!
Wagon too 🤤 so delicious
Probably would have been a good idea to check and adjust the valve clearances while you had the valve cover off.
Have the wheels vapor blasted then have them powder coated
Sick!
My sr5 20v will never be this dope :(

Id love to but this car
I didn’t know that ae86 had gauge sweep
It doesnt. That's a function of the link ecu
Using alpha n tuning instead of speed density? Any particular reason?
Where did you get the resistor from ?
Are you like the 86
Any updates on your car?
i want to get a backyard built sticker but i didn't build my ae86 in my back yard, or at all
Hey riley! Is it hard or complex to street tune? I kinda want to get an aftermarket ecu for my 1986 fc so i can squeeze some more power from my streetport but i never tuned before :/
