    I hope you’re going to continue with Gelli printing videos because you’re one of the very few artists who caters to real artists and not crafters/cardmakers. Thanks!

    Thank you for your technique, and especially for showing and explaining what you do, and with what. You are one of the few who elevate the use of the Gell plate to works of art. I am already old and no longer mobile, but your work and a few others make me want to still be involved in something creative. With many thanks and wish you a happy life.

    Thanks for another fascinating peek into your monotype printing process. I really enjoy your videos and like your artwork and oh my goodness "Pilgrim" is such an apt title. All your prints you've shared here on YT have resonated with me and reminded me of my own times on pilgrimage. I see a deeply mystical narrative in your imagery.

    Is there some kind of stationary frame around the gel plate to hold it in place? It's hard to seee what's going on from the video. Also, others have asked about the corner piece you made for registration. Can you give us an idea of how to make it? Is it foamcore strips or?? Thanks!

    • @dag_rottereng
      @dag_rottereng  Рік тому +9

      Hi! I have made a frame of thin wooden slats where the plate fits inside. The frame is about half as thick as the gelli plate. On the outside I glued two L-shaped plastic corner trims as guides which ensures that the image is placed correctly on the sheet every time.

      It is up to you to decide. My observation is that many deeply religious throughout history have been oppressed prisoners of their religion.

    Pretty sure Monotype is a registered trademark. You may wish to reconsider your “branding.”

    • @dag_rottereng
      @dag_rottereng  Рік тому +6

      Maybe Monotype spelled with a capital M is a registered trademark, but monotype is a way of creating a unique image that combines painting, drawing and printing, and I don't consider that branding. I'm pretty sure you sleep at night, but SLEEP is also a registered trademark. Are you thinking of reconsider your sleeping?

    • @coyohti
      @coyohti Рік тому +2

      "Windows" is also a registered trademark but, obviously, windows in some form are a thing most people have had in their homes for thousands of years. Savvy up. Companies trademark preexisting words all the time. It doesn't mean they own and control those words outside of the scope of their trademark.
