Five years of watercolor, 2018 - 2023

This month it is 5 years since I took a course in watercolor painting. The teacher was watercolorist Morten Gjul, whose technique I had been fascinated by for many years. Since then I have sporadically used my brushes and let the water flow. This is a video with some of the paintings so far.

Wonderful. But the final print looks like you used a photo transfer.
He used a stencil. Did you watch from the beginning?
Love your beautiful atmospheric print 🙂Quick question: Is your DIY frame exactly the same thickness as the gel plate? Or is it fractionally thinner? The brayer doesn't seem to leave much ink on it. Appreciate any advice in making my own frame/s. Thank you!
Hi Angie! The frame surrounding the gel plate is about half the thickness of the gel plate. Otherwise, the brayer would have touched the frame when pressed down and rolled over the edges.
@@dag_rottereng Thanks! Your work has inspired me to get back into printmaking 🙂
Amazing!!! ❤
Thanks
Hola, que papel usas? Saludos afectuosos desde Venezuela.
Papel de copia, 170 g/m²
Ist das Zauberei? Wundervoll! Aber verstanden habe ich den Prozess nicht. Leider😢
Adore your work. Thank you so much for sharing your process. Appreciate your generosity
Thank you very much, Judith!
This was so cool to watch!
Thank you very much!
Wow, I love the use of easily accessible materials for these print making techniques. Great video demo - thank you.
Thank you very much!🌹
Interesting. We get nuanced results like this in my studio, but our monotypes use plexiglass plates, oil based inks and oil paints with my big Conrad press. Bravo! Beautiful results with no solvents. Thanks for the great video.
Do you add an acrylic retarder to your paints?
Yes, sometimes. I use Jackson's.
Loved your process, very inspiring 😊
Thank you very much, Janine!
Thank you for showing this. Can I ask what paper you use?
The paper is almost like copy paper, but thicker: 170 gsm
Wow! It's absolutely stunning. I wanted to see something that profiled gel prints as works of art rather than craft projects. Thank you!
Thank you very much for your kind words!
Why are the little people so sad? 😥
135 / 5 000 It is up to you to decide. My observation is that many deeply religious throughout history have been oppressed prisoners of their religion.
utter madness
Everyone has their own way of interpreting content. If a viewer of an image I've created doesn't feel something or start thinking, I've failed.
@@dag_rottereng 😍
why?
Why what?
@@dag_rottereng Why so many wet layers and rubbing with the rag?
