    lol,I love Johnny.
love the way he sings.. Honestly, you couldn't ask for a better singer for this band. For a punk band.
Like..he screamed the revolution. You know what I mean?
Anyways, thats just my opinion, but.
    They're just great.

They were all perfect for the everything. Some call it fate. I just call it being lucky. They myth is that Sid was apparently supposed to be the singer for them, but Malcolm got the John’s wrong. Sid was also supposed to try out for The Damned, but never showed up.

Sid's bass playing sounds perfectly adequate. He's on time and in tune, and he knows the song. I'm sure we've all dealt with worse than that.

the sex pistols were in the forehead of the punk movement, along with the clash, with some other bands like UK subs, and the vibrators, and then came the ramones. on manchester it was joy division that were "hip" with happy mondays and dorutti column...they were good 10 years of music :) i should know since i was there...

The whole sex pistol myth is built upon the lie that they were talent less. It is very much like the Nirvana myth...but Lydon's voice was a bloody chainsaw that tore through bullshit, Jonesy was a skilled guitarist, with a flair for "innovating" other's, and Cook was easily the best drummer of his genre.

If it weren't for Nancy, Sid might have actually learned to play. John and Glen didn't get along which I think actually made them a better band. They pushed their agression towards each other into their songs.

  • @gabrielclements69

I was never told to like Sid, I was young I listened sex pistols and the one i liked the most was Sid, where did you get that idea? Do you really think someone can make me like something?? (i would shoot myself if that ever happens) It is known that Rotten didnt like much Sid, and when he was here in Argentina with PIL he spited on a Sid Vicious t-shirt. Offcourse no one was born being a punk, neither was sid, but i think he liked a lot that way of living.

So what if the Ramones came first? That's not what we're debating. We're debating if the Ramones were a punk rock band or not. I say not. Not that it matters, they were still good, but my point remains.

I'm amazed these guys are so popular but have so little money. The lead singer net worth is only $1 million and he doesn't have any fancy stuff, isn't into cars or anything. Green Day is worth something like $50 mil per band member and although I have met the group and all, I can't say they are better than the original punk groups of the 1970s.

    NOTE FOR EVERYONE
I have chosen to block trickyflyingdave from posting. I don't care if someone doesn't like the song, video, or the band but if they do then they need to give real reasons. They need to intelligently put their argument forward.
trickyflyingdave did not do this. Instead he chose to act like a little teenager and adopt an "I'M RIGHT, YOU'RE WRONG!" approach.
If you disapprove of me editing the posts then so be it. I just can't tolerate an ignorant wanker.

Well I think otherwise and I have plenty of Stooges albums, love them all.
The Stooges aren't a punk band to me. Punk is a movement. Yes The Stooges may have put down the foundations for a lot of the bands to follow, but that doesn't make them part of the movement. They merely influenced it.

Hey, why I think Sid was a fake is because he wasnt punk in the begining. He was just another kid who liked the music and had alot of thoughts, but when he started to play with the sex pistols he changed hes personality. "He wasnt really vicious, I namned him after my dead hamster!" Jhonny rotten said it.. I think you guys should get OWN OPINIONS. I think you like Sid because your like, told to. That is not punk, punk is not to follow rules.
