Alicin, oregano oil, neem, berberine and I added wormwood+black walnut for parasite insurance! Works like a charm but I also use ACV+Lemon before meals, I use bile because yellow stool sucks and super enzymes! Also low fodmap, higher protein, I was able to put on 10lbs of weight in no time which was impossible before.

This is the best video on SIBO that I have come across so far and I have seen many. As a clinical pharmacist, medical herbalist and nutritionist, with more than 25 years practice, I can only say that I will do my best to spread a word about you and this exceptional presentation.
For us practitioners, it is quite often challenging to convince patients to give a chance to a few supplements in order to improve their condition. A good supplement without chemical additives or fillers are usually very expensive but also the most effective ones. We have also realised that without appropriate dietary guidelines and changes all the effort would only give short term results. No sugar and a very low carb diet is ultimate solution for a healthy gut.
Thank you again for this amazing presentation. All the best to you and all your viewers.

Supplements 😅😅 They don’t work ofcourse. Stop eating the sugary and fibre foods. Start eating animal protein and fats. That will drop your acid number in the correct range 0-3 ph. 100% that will help.

Yes. And in order to 'fix' a problem, one has to like to THINK. I was gaslighted before I knew the term, as a child, just asking questions because I wanted to learn. And what I learned was that there was a major humility (lack thereof) issue in the system - they didn't know the answer, but instead of "that is a good question. I do not know, but thank you for asking and I will be looking into that"....their insecurity was projected onto me. They messed up my life as a child that led to a burn out of an organ in adulthood. It's a crying shame....

1- Go with carnivore diet for a month or two

Glad you made this video Dr. Norm. It's incredible disheartening to see how many struggle with SIBO / Dysbiosis and MMC issues without even knowing the fix can be quite simple.
For me personally, due to SIFO along with SIBO---the treatment is a little bit more muddled. Digestive Enzymes and HCL has only made things worse over time. The SIBO (giardia) did shift towards SIFO over the years. I dont accredit it to HCL specifically (impossible to know), but even yeast based probiotics now give me issues. I find it interesting. I could not digest foods without enzymes, now I don't use any and I digest just fine. Even big amounts of healthy fats.
In the end, in my case, it seems to be an MMC issue post black mold exposure for 2-4 months. Causing a trickle down of CIRS, Sarcoidosis, MCAS, MCS and a whole host more. Along with CPTSD and Celiac as a base (since age 2). After connecting the dots, CIRS and MMC dysfunction as well as nervous system dysregulation---I feel like I finally have a roadmap on what needs to be addressed. Taken 14 years to figure it out, but finally getting a big picture as most doctors, nautorpaths, functional doctors etc have not been able to help me. I will devote my life to help others and delve deep into the mechanics of everything if I manage to heal.

I ended up writing several GI’s all over, before one agreed to send me a sibo test. I have higher levels of hydrogen and some methane. I’m finally seeing a GI where I live after waiting a year for my appointment. Now, I have so many more GI problems. I just feel like I haven’t been able live my life now for almost 10 years. I’m so limited on what I can eat. I just wish I could get help.

Celiac disease induced SIBO is a lot more common than people think, according the new research atleast 30% of celiac patients who don't see improvement after starting the gluten free diet have SIBO. I will tell you the best things that have helped me SIBO greatly so far. Oregano oil, Atrantil, Neem, Allicin, and recently soil based probiotics have seemed to help me a lot. Remember with probiotics they can take up to a few months of taking them everyday to see improvement. And they can also make you a bit worse when you first start taking them. But If you havn't tried any of these things yet I have listed, I suggest you do so to find yourself some relief. The few naturopaths (one I follow online, the other see in person) has explained to me carnivore can seem to help bc your removing everything but does not help get the diversity back that you need in order to live a normal life. Or like the one commenter its just a bandaid. That's why so many carnivores I've watched realize they can't consume anything without a responce anymore. I say this bc I was trying to do carnivore when this all happened for me and the pendulum swung too far and I lost beneficial bacteria. What a new naturopath is recommending for myself is a strong probiotic a specific one (just ordered/can't remember the name) and I really hope it works. Alongside-ive been watching Dr Cabral here on YT. so I hope to get back to normal again

I would also add that it is important to reduce your stress response as much as possible when you are trying to heal your gut. My naturopath recommended an adrenal support supplement which helped rid me of crippling anxiety. I also started a gentle exercise program including stretching, calisthenics and yoga, plus walking my dog down my peaceful country road. I was also having worrying gastrocardiac issues that I only found out recently are related. The deep breathing of relaxing and meditative yoga, helps those symptoms as well.
I have found some tummy issues have come back I think because I have reintroduced too many not so healthy foods back into my diet, plus sometimes I take ibuprofen for back and neck issues which cause headaches, and those cause inflammation of the stomach lining. So I think it’s time to go back on a more restrictive diet plan, and be more strict in the future.

Super informative video .. there’s no exact science - we have to be detectives to try and work it out and put the pieces together. We are all also unique so what works for one person may not work for another. I think I have learned to listen to my body and be more instinctive with Sibo. Any DR who says they have a one cure fits all is not giving you the best information and advice to fit your body. It’s a nuisance but it’s a situation we have to work on, learning adapting and trying until we find a way thru. Good luck everyone on your journey.

Interesting question Raquel. Keep in mind that most current probiotics are based on strains that are easy to grow, freeze dry and commercialize, and don't (with a few recent exceptions - A. muciniphila for example) include keystone anaerobic strains. Pharma antibiotics disrupt the commensal microbiome leading to dysbiosis and potentially life threatening complications - Yes, we need them for serious infections, but there is always risk.
Antimicrobial herbs, while less potent likely cause similar if muted disruption. The study linked below showed that probiotics actually slow microbiome recuperation after conventional antibiotics. You might expect the same after herbal antimicrobials.
What I find fascinating is the concept and potential of autologous FMT (banking your own poop) before antibiotics. FMT resulted in "rapid near-complete gut mucosal microbiome recolonization". www.cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092-8674(18)31108-5?_returnURL=https%3A%2F%2Flinkinghub.elsevier.com%2Fretrieve%2Fpii%2FS0092867418311085%3Fshowall%3Dtrue#%20

Can bile acid deconjugation be the same as bile reflux which causes gastritis?
This is the closest so far I've heard anyone talk about bile acids in reference to gut health and SIBO, except for very few who are also suffering but not doctors.
I can see how bile reflux could cause SIBO but wondering, could it be the other way around as well? Can sludgy bile, bile that doesn't flow well cause the pyloric valve to malfunction? (I know there's other causes like ulcer and/or scarring or possible other obstructions, but barring those).
Like with the LES valve that opens when it's not supposed to because of lack of stomach acid, can the same hold true for the pyloric valve weakening because the bile isn't working correctly?

Hello, great video thanks. I’m going to purchase your book but in the meantime wondered if it’s safe to take bike salts with barrett's oesophagus?

Not at all. Sauerkraut and other fermented foods are already fermented during the process. Therefore, they are lower in carbs and quite gut friendly. A recent study out of Stanford showed they did what fiber could not - reducing inflammation and increasing diversity. rb.gy/lkf7xz
