    This is the exact video I needed! Just bought a 2017 GTI as a CPO from my local VW, I have an APR stage 1 ECU & TCU tune scheduled for tomorrow and was worried about reliability. I do routine services every 5k miles, so hearing that these are overbuilt and just maintain them properly and they will love you back makes me feel a weight off my shoulders!

    Awesome video! Love my VW as well. It's an MK5 though. 12 years of ownership this year. Daily driven, and i drive it with my 1 year old and 6 year old little girls. Has catless downpipe with muffler delete. PTE5858 big turbo. Can't complain. Loud, but my 1 year old could still fall asleep while driving it.

Because there is no way your running 126mph with a stock is38. 2) what's the advantages of running the jb4 with the APR stage 2 tune? Can itCouple harm the motor? 3) When you ran the 11.1@125mph how much did the car weight? Did you remove all the interior? Thanks love the car.

Just got a few esthetic mods on it (wheels, tires, lowered, etc) but never really wanted to touch the engine because of the chain issue, etc but now since that is fixed, I might just do it right? Pickle Ahoy true. Thing is you can’t fit the club sport spoiler on a GTi. To fit it you need a regular MK7 Golf Hatch. Won’t fit on a MK7 GTi/R. I looked into it. I daily a MK7 GTi Performance Package.

    3:28 I think his hat may be on to tight. A front bumper conversion does not suddenly give you equivalent laptimes of an actual Clubsport on the track.🙄🤷‍♂️

      From standstill the R will be way faster. But rolling sprint this GTI will be, because of lesser weight / drivetrain losses.

      @ABeans07 5 років тому +1

      Its a hack way of tuning a car to get more power. You are fighting the ecu tune and the jb4s adjustment. Very very poor idea.

    • @Peylix

      @@ABeans07 I know several people in my local R/GTI group who stack JB4 to run Meth & variable Ethanol blends on the fly.
      Given the VII doesn't have map switching aval like older gens. Outside owning a Cobb AP. You're locked to one file unless your specific tuner is one of the flash at home types (Like IE or Uni for example)
      I'm APR Stage 2 right now. And stacking would allow me to tune for Meth and use it when I want. When not in use, don't have to worry.
      Same goes for Ethanol. I could stack to utilize E20, E30, E40 and be able to go back to my base OTS tune when I'm not running blends.
      The best way to go about this is to just get a Cobb AP. But it would be a lot of wasted money to ditch what I already have now for something that can be done from stacking.
      Call it "hack" all you want. It works and works fine.
