00:00 Intro/Specs
02:25 Lap
11:50 Conclusion - Авто та транспорт
"Now we're just going to cruise the rest of the lap" Misha said at a speed of 186 km/h 😎
Right? He said that and then just keeps going 180 lol
7:14 The shift paddle falling off made the Lego Breaking sound 💀
Aliexpress car mod gone WRONG 🤣😆
made me laugh 😂
Actual metal replacement paddles are cheaper than the stick on ones... After all those power mods he cheaped out on the paddles.
Title: has "no brakes"
Owner: "how are the brakes" with not even a quarter of the lap done
Me: 🍿🍿🍿
Aha right?!
Yeah that was also like comedy to me 😂
Everyone else's mishaps are basically a checklist so that when I finally make it to the 'ring for long enough for Misha to do a lap, my car will survive the experience 😁
Brakes that'll stop a train: check
Cooling so it stays chilled even in the hottest summer: check
Tyres that clear the bodywork even on full compression: check
No turbo so it can't overboost and go in to limp mode: check
Doing everything technically possible to banish the Audisteer: work in progress!
If I can drive it round flat-out all day, it should cope with at least one lap with Misha 😆
lol this is my baseline too XD
@MotorHeartAT i think he meant no turbo upgrade so it doesn't overboost.
Correction: brakes that'll stop a train _more than once_ ;)
@MotorHeartAT D2 S8 with the 4.2 40V. NA with a redline of 7400rpm 🥰
Also don't lie about horsepower or you will be memed
He had a smile on his face almost the entire way.😄
So sad that the brakes gave up THAT early 😟
The best thing on the first part of the video was the huge smile in the owner’s face 😀👍 Cause I can completely understand and relate 😉
So next thing: Huge brakes and then full metal pedal shifters for the Misha 🥴😃
Best wishes, Philipp
The guy himself must have done a few laps too.
Probably already had much less than half of the brake pad
This thing goes 100 to 180 faster than my car goes 0 to 60
0 to 60 km/h?
well.....yeah? rolling start
what an odd thing to say out loud
@@kiebro100 Is it though?
@@sauravchhabra840 yes, thats why I said it.
As an MK7 GTI owner.. I always wonder why others go for the Alibaba red plastic shifters...
They make the car look 'Ricey' imo..
Too bad for the brakes.. GP-track fried them definatly :D
Yeahh FR😂 i have racingline shifters and no 3m tape needed just oem replacement💪🏼
Plastic shifters are actually real carbon and quite expensive. Nevertheless, they were a mistake 🤣
Just use stock shifters,no need to buy china product, wasting ur money
that smile did not leave his face! pure petrol fan at heart
7:15 3M paddle shifters 😂
Always the same thing putting 10000 euros in the engine and then no proper brakes and suspension😢
The next time I think, "my brake pads have one more track day in them", I'm just going to replace them 😅
That was me last track day. Luckily that track didn't have huge braking zones, so was fine. But was stressed out the whole time
Has alot of potential when it gets new brakes & new fluids ofc
420 hp on stock size discs is not good at all
Those are stock? They look aftermarket, drilled rotors.
@@TheRedRaven_ he's saying stock size. They are aftermarket rotors with stock calipers.
@@dubsessed9790 Are the stock calipers triple piston? They look large. Btw I don’t know anything about GTI’s and I’m not a fan of VW so I know nothing of their flagship cars, I only know that his pads were basically done yet he decided to let Misha track it, not cool.
@@TheRedRaven_yes stock caliper which for the clubsport GTI is still fairly large. Same as the golf R or Audi S3. It should be fine with decent fresh pads and new fluid and most people upgrade and install the Audi RS3 brake cooling ducts. The upgrade to the RS3 caliper means a lot of wheel size combinations won't fit.
@@doueven Forget !!!
Forget the idea of letting this brake.
Move on to something decent.
Brembo discs and pads are just oem replacements in my experience.
yes i have an cupra and in 3 round i got them done ...... brembo is not good for track
which brands are best for making discs/pads for track usage?
@@zf8496 I'm no expert but I now use Tarox and DBA brakes and so far no problems.
Neither on the Nordschleife nor in Hockenheim
He’s gone from clubsport semi floating discs, a brilliant disc to a standard crap one😂
ebc do track pads@@zf8496
The best part of this lap is when that paddle extension fell off.
Aliexpress
Das Auto. Deutsche Kwaliteit.
@@miner4236 They’re stick on paddle shifters from Amazon, the car doesn’t come with them and wouldn’t just fall off. He cheaped out on stick ons when you can buy cast aluminum ones that actually replaces the OEM plastic shifters.
You don’t need all that cooling power if you can’t use it all hey. I’d say tyres, brakes, and suspension first, stop and turn, then make it faster. 👍🏼
You're too responsible. We need all the power but none to stop it!
But seriously. People are really idiots..
My goodness, I owned a Golf GTI with Performance pack, but this, this is a total different car from what I can see.
The smile on the owners face says it all, super cool video and the driving skills are on point here!!
Proper 400hp not like that Yaris
Absolute perfect camera setups 👏
The question should always be "When was the braking system last worked on in any way?"
If recently in time or distance covered, then it should always be treated as unreliable/unproven.
I can hear the brakes metal to metal, he worked on them way too long ago, and didn't check how much wear they had gone through before he put Misha in the driver's seat 😂
@@joshstansell3072 There's a happy medium.
I love the “dutch” explanation 😂 great build, and great lap Misha!
The owner is awesome, so happy in his own car, best of luck to him!
Bro the owner's smiled all the track, this is amazing
I think that these are better on stock springs somehow
This guy has the biggest smile all lap and you gotta love to see it! xD
always first upgrade is brakes and suspension my number one rule
Misha! You're such a nice person! Congrats to the owner!
Paddle extensions falling off while he's opening the exhaust for pops and bangs....priceless.
Great engine in that car, the power seemed very usable for the track and the cooling looked good. Too bad about the brakes. Hopefully the owner can do a RS3 brake upgrade or something of the sort for the platform with track pads. Also coilers or better dampers. Then it would be a real weapon. The owner seems like a good dude.
Dude, you are seriously making me miss my GTI.
Look at that smile, dude is walking on the moon
Great job
Keep it up
The pops and bangs were awesome Misha!❤
Sick build!!
The blokes gone from semi floating clubsport discs to shitting fake branded brembos😂😂plonker
Only the Clubsport S has semi floating discs,
Fantastic tour in golf.
Don't agree with the owner that the brake cooling ducts (that he put an oil cooler in the one side) have no function.
Are those ducted to the wheels in that vehicle?
@@volvo09yess on the golf 7r also but different
So we are not going to question a guy who does not change his pads before going on track!? Like if they are 2/3mm, they dont have a harsh lap(s) left in them. Atleast not acompanied with driving from the netherlands to the ring, even from the border parts. Even if they dont wear that fast, you will get heat issue's...
I'm surprised the brake were gone that early of the lap, wow!
Given the reputation for GTi/R and Audi S model brakes, I'm not surprised 🤣
@@1993j and the brembo pads/discs combination is shithouse. for the stock disc and caliper setup - needs much better quality discs and pads designed for track use with a much higher operating temperature
@@shaneskillzrepresent Yeah I agree, probably a Tarox disc and Endless pad, but the rate you'd cook them, may as well just do a full kit 🤣 Kind of strange to forge an EA888 with upgraded turbo etc for 420bhp with stock suspension and brakes.
@@1993jTypical. All the power, none to stop it.
the paddles falling off is hilarious
Thanks for reminding me why I shouldn't order stick on paddle extensions
he should get RS3 brake ducts I've mounted them on clients car and he had very positive feedback
Lovely video. Lovely car and owner as well
The smile on his face was priceless 😂
there's no bigger satisfaction for eastblock guy than passing by all that hyped bimmers with a golf (because it is ultimate insult to them lol). even misha still gets smiles when this happen..
Brakes are almost done...
"Let's give it to Misha and figure out how long they really last" 🤦🏻♂️🫣.
Just a "little bit" irresponsible from the owner 🙈
When owners asking early about the brakes it tends to fail halfway into the lap.. 🙃
@@sub7up. Good point to keep in mind for Misha 😅🫣
Yeah, let's take it to the Nürburgring with stock brakes and hardly any pad material left. 😂
Are they really stock? Big brake kit with drilled rotors? But yeas I agree on the pads, that's not cool.
Once I had a ride as a passage in a friends boxster. In the middle of the lap he also noticed that the brakes were done. We could also really hear it. Still a cool experience though a little bit disappointing that it wasn’t that spectacular because we couldn’t go that fast.
@@TheRedRaven_ stock calipers and rotors with upgraded pads will work infinitely better than stock pads with big brake kit, assuming they both have upgraded brake fluid and lines. Also brembo makes great calipers but their pads are as shit as it gets. There's a reason why a set of brembo pads cost like 30-50 euros while a good set of track pads is 200-500 euros.
Awesome as allways :) Owner of the car looked smiling and scared at the same time all the way to the end of the lap :D Couldn't read his expressions :)
Someone clip the moment the paddle came off I should not be laughing so much Great lap !
Here for the “1000 bhp” GT-R comments 👀
😂😂
Great idea! Pops and bangs in the middle of a track day! Go for another rebuild 😊
The smile on the owners face is priceless
@mopedtim,… nette wagen man ❤❤. Die motor klimt in toeren als een 🚀!! Nice 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Daniel Ricciardo smile is awesome !
Risky to go on track with brakes you know or are guessing are good for a track day. They cost way less to replace than the full car repair does if you get it wrong.
As a VW mechanic, deleting the PCV for a catch can isn't a good idea. The fine oil separation is minimal in those. Best practice is to place the catch can post PCV. Also the Mk8 PCV will fit the Mk7 head with little modification
Everytime this man makes my day😂 he keeps wrecking cars of newbs
This wonderful build would be perfect with a set of JRZ 3-way adjustable coilovers. The bounciness in the suspension is its one big flaw (and brakes obviously). With a proper suspension you won't have to use the brakes as often too. GREAT build though!
I like this car honestly
The brakes were already done before the ride, you can see it on the red rust edge on the disc, they became very hot
lots of power, stock brakes, pops and bangs, exhaust, paddles from aliexpress - everything in the opposite way 🤓
Brembo Pads which cannot handle the heat management needed for track use with 400Bhp might be the problem.
The brakes aren’t going to be working that much harder than they would have been if that car was in standard trim. It’s not as though he has put 400 BHP into a Golf 1,6 GL.
Many people talking trash about not upgrading the brakes with more power probably have never driven at the limit, just as most people who do upgrades on streetcars don't really drive at the limit, even people driving rental go-karts usually don't drive at the limit, cause they don't know how to; once you're able to drive at the limit it's not a matter of upgrading the brakes with power, it's a matter of upgrading the brakes to how you use them, then managing what you have, even a car with under a hundred horse can fry some upgraded brakes if you brake hard enough, especially driving like your doing a qualifying lap, with no care to tire, brake, fuel, and cooling management; most road races aren't driven all out all the time like some people think.
For the owner, kw clubsport v3, pole positions and better brake pads and just enjoy the car!
Осенний Нюрбургринг, укрытый опадающими накладками с автомобилей, прекрасен. А в Москве снега по колено, эх...
'The stabilisatorstangen😂👍💪
I found a Porsche Panamera 6 calliper kit with 375mm rotors(needs 19' rims) for 1600E or 360mm(work on 18' rims, some need spacers) for 1500E ! Get it !
Misha, one and only! ;-)
Good video
Cool owner, big smile, big fun, nice car.
This guy is basically Jesse from Fast and Furious only without Jetta/Vento
Why not in sport from start?
that smile from the owner of the car reminds me on " Terrifier " :P :P
Redline is 7200rpm but I recommend to shift around 6500, after that power just drops.
Also unfortunately the exhaust on this car seems like a prime example of how not to do valved mufflers. It's extremely loud both open or closed. I'd assume open is even straight pipe which mostly sounds pretty shit on the EA888
10:55 That must have hurt, stock Astra G 1.6 16v passing by 🤣😂
His smile the whole way 😅
gti‘s always sound so funny 😂 only 4zyl i like is in a motorcycle
I didnt even realize there was someone in the back until the final straight😂
07:02 Might it have been a good idea to downshift a gear or three under emergency (lack of) braking? Or perhaps the left hand paddle-shift would have snapped off sooner ;-)
You're right.
Ehhhhh yes And no then the steering c
Becomes severely over sensitive so if he has to dodge a bumper way less control......
@@cheesecakemilkshake8043 It’s a basic engine brake 😂
Judging by the look on the owner's face, this car runs on smiles per gallon. 👍
Im already smiling on the thumbnail. ✌🏻🇳🇱
that fixed smile :)
Besides the car falling apart, great lap :P
Does no one ever do a pre check before going to the biggest track in the world ffs
you need a "nice while it lasted" playlist
Dude if he have problem with downshifts - Why not check out "TVS Engineering's" TCU tune? Im most likely getting it for my tuned Clubsport as well! Said to be the best DSG/TCU tune in the world! 👍
Why did the original engine blew up ?
when the peeps says the stock 380mm brakes with decent pads is ok for track I know they drive slow, real slow lolol
It depends on the weight of car. For that particular golf even 360mil discs but with endless pads will be more than enough.
I also own a MQB car that came with 380 brakes; ran pmu HC+ pads, castrol SRF along with braided lines around. 2-3 flying laps around a 1:30 circuit and its cooked. changed to Q5 brembo 4pots and its barely holding 5 laps. I am surprised those shitty brakes survived that long at the ring with misha @@coolguy_2997
Bro plssss tell me that now your jaw become as stronger as it was before surgery??pls telll me because after 1 months i also have the same suregry
Haha in this order my video is next 😂😂😂 I already see my biggest mistake in the background of the video 😂😂😂😂
Dude put the car in "Sport mode" after the brake failure so he can use his stupid pop and crackle tune. But didn't realize that it changes throttle response. Which Misha comments on almost right away....
the permasmile of the owner xD
He forget about the brake cooler😅😅😅
This is fast
Says*, Redline is at 6,000. Proceeds to shift at 7,000 haha
4:07 How do you like the brakes so far?! :D
what % of casual breaks in casual car would be gone after Misha's lap?
The engine loves to rev but with so many upgrades, I’m sure he will put serious thought in a different car and platform.
too much power ....
😢 Stock brakes with that power..Owner seemed a decent guy. As Misha said the suspension needs sorting. But first bigger brake kit. Then the car will be superb.
