👍 Prior has had SO much time! It's frustrating! They NEED to be tried together and now. What about the children's rights? They should have the right to be laid to rest. This judge needs to put his foot down and say enough.
What ever happened to Prior wanting a speedy trial here a year ago. I remember him saying my client has been in jail for blah blah blah months and he needs a speedy trial.
Interesting video as usual. I am looking forward to the quilting video. My mother was a quilter and made me a beautiful quilt in the Cathedral Window pattern.
Thanks Lori for another great podcast. The biggest problem with this whole thing seems to be this Wishey washey judge who doesn’t be able do the job.! You seem to know more about this then he does in running a courtroom.
When a trial is scheduled to go for a long time, does that tend to skew the jury toward older retired people who might have the time to sit for such a long trial?
Are you sure? I checked Desert Books (the church owned bookstore) and LDS Books and neither is carrying his books online. The physical stores may still have a few on the shelves, I don't know. I know they are still available through Amazon. That is probably because of a contractual agreement with the distributer Chad placed all his books with when Spring Creek Books went bankrupt.
I looked again yesterday day and you are right they have removed them. I think it had been about a month or so ago they still had them listed. Sorry about not rechecking before I posted.
What are the chances of a mistrial for both Chad and Lori based upon the inference that Chad will point the finger of guilt at Lori and Alex; conversely, Lori will most-likely point the finger at Chad and Alex?
Excellent program, Good Lori! Could you please reiterate how to obtain your newsletter? I've got cataracts & been reluctant to sign up for it. However, as the trial date for the Vallow/Daybell case draws nigh, I'm willing to give it a stab. I will check the description of this video, so if it is listed, please ignore this request. Again, thank you for your excellent content!

I’m with you on the hypothesis that Judge Boyce could decide to sever at any time (but he won’t) but, he should stick to his declared trial date for both in April - calling John Prior out for his responsibility to use the last 2.5 years more expeditiously. That’s plenty of time to prepare a death penalty case. Jim Archibald hasn’t been on this case that long and he’s ready and raring to go. What’s wrong with that picture, I dare say it could be the defendant himself. Chad could be the one with no real defense strategy because he knows he’s in it for Tammy’s murder and how he looks to the LDS community is important to his kids. It seems to matter more to him than police finding Lori’s kids bludgeoned, burned and buried in the back yard. What will John Prior’s strategy finally be with another attorney joining him? I wonder who that will be? Good Lori on the watch!
@@LizzaJo Religion is not the issue here. Anything a person uses to justify doing evil is only a justification. Studies have already shown that we make all decisions emotionally, and THEN we come up with our supposed rational reasoning for our decision, which is actually only a rational. We cannot make any decision on anything if our emotions are dissociated from our awareness. Chad was following his "Loin Fire", not his religion. He was having to alter his belief system to justify his behavior. That does not mean his belief system was the cause.
I understand that attorneys are going to use every single play in the book to try to get their clients off. But this honestly just feels like a stalling tactic on John Prior’s part. Is he starting to believe Chad’s stories? Does he think if he can stall for long enough, the second coming will happen and Chad will be set free? What possible excuse could he have for waiting until NOW to finally bring in a death qualified attorney to help with the case? How does stalling for more time benefit his client?
I thought they had to go for the death penalty to get life in prison in Idaho. Because if you go for life, Idaho has a rule where they can get out on parole after 10 years. I'm confused, can you explain it please?
You are exactly right. In Idaho, the only way you get life without parole is to seek the death penalty and either bargain it down in a plea agreement, or have the jury find mitigating circumstances that justify it. Any other murder conviction is eligible for parole.
Hvac tool/knife an interesting possibility. Is what his dad does and he was involved in a hvac voc ed program in high school. He probably kept that knife and they need to look in the duct work.
A huge waste of taxpayers $$ fighting to save Lori N Chad from the death penalty!! This is a perfect example of why the death penalty should be abolished, IMO. Lori n Chad would be rotting in prison by now. It makes no sense to me.
It depends on where you are in the case. Early in the case it would probably not have much impact, but close to trial it could delay the trial while new counsel gets up to speed.
I had heard that they used a match from a DNA database. It will be interesting once he's back in Idaho and arraigned to see the probable cause affidavit.
I'm sorry, but Prior said he would be ready for trial for Oct 2021. I think Prior is absolutely manipulating the process to get the case severed. He should have begun mitigation immediately after the intent to seek the DP. Either way, for him to say if they went to trial now his client would have ineffective counsel, is a HUGE admission of his failure to prepare for this case in 2 yrs. His main focus has been on sever, sever, sever. He says he's ready, he can be ready, blah blah. I can certainly say by his actions regarding this case, I personally would NEVER hire this guy. He's ate up. IMO. Just really sucks for the families who can't lay the children to rest.
Now makes much more sense that it's just a border town difference. This was a serial killer on the making but he was so arrogant he wanted grandiose and killed 4 instead one or he might've gotten away with it.
Good question, let me surmise. Warrior Princess I’d say. She should also resume her position as most powerful woman in the Universe. She’s a real gem. Her purity and beauty are without compare. No point sitting in jail, hiding her light under her bush L .
So as far as I know, Lori Vallow does not have tattoos. The LDS church as been staunchly opposed to them. I, (the GOOD and rebel Lori) on the other hand, have four. I think something as permanent as a tattoo should mean something, so mine all have significance in my life. The one across my wrist was my first, added in honor of my 60th birthday; it's a latin phrase, alis volat propriis. It means "she flies with her own wings" I also have three birds sitting on a branch with one flying away - that one is a memorial for my dad. My mother, (then age 86) sister and I all have the same tattoo. We got them in Amsterdam while on a river cruise in Europe. The hilarious photos of three old ladies in a tattoo shop are some of my favorite. I have a tattoo that matches my daughter's on the back of one arm, and a butterfly with a spray of mountain lupine. The lupine honors the mountains of my Oregon home, and I promised myself a butterfly for each book I publish. I'd like to get this damn trial started so I can get the next butterfly! Cheers y'all!
Hi Good Lori. What a lady you are. It’s unthinkable that the chinless one needs even more time. His lawyer has had ample time and I think I could have a good case prepared for him myself given the opportunity. Working pro bono may be the reason that he couldn’t be motivated to enthusiastic efforts for his client. If I were Chinless One I would just leave by a portal and resume position as Holy Spirit next to the Great Being of God himself. I definitely think it’s his best option.
I think Pryor is stalling in order to separate the trials
I really enjoy your show. You are top notch. Thank you for teaching us.

What ever happened to Prior wanting a speedy trial here a year ago. I remember him saying my client has been in jail for blah blah blah months and he needs a speedy trial.
Well, yes. That's a defense attorney. We've all done it - pushed one way, only to ask for something opposite as the case develops.
Interesting video as usual. I am looking forward to the quilting video. My mother was a quilter and made me a beautiful quilt in the Cathedral Window pattern.
Would love to see a picture of that!
Catching the replay!
Your explanation of speedy trial and ineffective assistance of trial was very clear. Enjoy your New Years celebrations!
Thanks Lori for another great podcast. The biggest problem with this whole thing seems to be this Wishey washey judge who doesn’t be able do the job.! You seem to know more about this then he does in running a courtroom.
So great to see you Lori thanks for this video as always
Lori, you look glamorous this evening.
Strong work tonight! Thank you! 10:41
Thanks so much.
Happy New Year!!!
Same to you!

It absolutely does.
Hi 💖Good Lori!
You look great! Thank you for being you!💕🤗💃🏼
Love from good friend Annie☀️
You too!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR LORI!
Same to you!
I was very disappointed to see the LDS church book store still has his books for sale and Amazon.

I know they are still available through Amazon. That is probably because of a contractual agreement with the distributer Chad placed all his books with when Spring Creek Books went bankrupt.
You can send a request to Amazon to have his book removed.
I looked again yesterday day and you are right they have removed them. I think it had been about a month or so ago they still had them listed. Sorry about not rechecking before I posted.
They need to sever and try Lori on Feb 21st.
Happy New Year to all of you, and thanks for what you guys do. Great team work!!

That would not result in a mistrial - it happens all the time.

QUESTION. what would happen in a situation like this if something happens to a defense attorney where he cannot do the job, like illness or death?
Like the disappearance of Mark Means? Not much would be affected, from his example.
It depends on where you are in the case. Early in the case it would probably not have much impact, but close to trial it could delay the trial while new counsel gets up to speed.
They could of used Familial 🧬 DNA thru Ancestry, or the FBI that followed him for 4 days waited to get some other DNA from something he discards.
I had heard that they used a match from a DNA database. It will be interesting once he's back in Idaho and arraigned to see the probable cause affidavit.
does seem prior dragged his feet own this part of the case.
And did the cookbook you guys were setting up for Tammy Daybells foundation , literacy for kids. Or something like that. Did it ever get finished?
Thanks for asking @cupofTeresa. That project was Lauren's, and I don't know the status of it. You would need to reach out to her for that.

I do not value SIR’s opinion at all. if I watch him, I get furious with his analysis. I cannot stand him.
Difference between him & our good Lori is, SR forgets to put the SMART in smartass!

Oh Helene! Thanks for the morning chuckle! Cheers.
I’m gonna say, no one will support Lori except some Church members.
