Just sold my real pinball and have a makeshift virtual pin. Trying to make the choice between the arcade1up and arcade legends. I spent 10 years repairing the old machine, it was great but am over it , Maintenance on real machines sucks. What do you think of the build quality and plungers between the 2 machines?
I've got the Arcade1up Marvel pinball. I look forward to "altering" it to play all 30 tables . I'd love to take it further and get more tables on it, but I don't know that I'd invest the time & money . I'm a huge fan of emulation . In fact I've got 7 arcade cabinets (full size), 3 of which are PC/PI builds . Taking the time to set up a pc seems like a huge chore . None the less awesome video some great info. I'm in Toronto, Ontario Canada. I'm part of a local forum site, but the activity has slowed down . Not much of a community for pinball on there and I wish there were. Perhaps I'd take the hobby further .
I’m 6’2” and 250lbs. I picked up some bed risers for $16 off Amzn and it’s the perfect lift for a taller player. No stability issues. I’ve heard wallymart sells them too, same price range.
That's cool but it seems like it would look Jerry rigged, as in not premium. I hope their next shot at Vpins gives people more options like a premium model and i hope they ditch that shorter frame and terrible slant.
I completely understand your point of you. I am almost complete with my ALP MOD. I made my own backglass too. 3 monitor setup and the VPX tables are amazing! Still alot to learn about vpin. Someday, I hope for a real pinball but price is alittle steep for the time being. Someday! 😁
I want to learn as well but in a few years time the community will streamline the process to be 100x easier. Back when i first got into Mame it was a nightmare to configure the front end and all of the bezels etc... etc... but that's how it had to be done. I didn't bother lol. I played a bit on my PC but never made a dedicated cabinet until the process was streamlined. Now you basically get a Raspberry Pi or a PC, load it up with someone elses hard work in the form of a custom front end, preloaded with 1000s of games and call it a day. When that happens to Vpins i imagine a lot more people will start to tinker. Until then it's intimidating af.
I’m right there with ya. Sold AFM and Marvel to make room for the ALP. Installed the BSS box & AC/DC graphics. Got FX3 goin with Wagner’s help & now attempting VPX/Future. I’m beyond a novice so this’ll be terrifying. Also went the multicade route in place of some cabs, so there’s room for a few must haves down the road. Love your game room man!
Great video! I've got a question for you. I've noticed when I've used SKY on my TV the constant use of the SKY TV guide menu causes a screen burnout. So the question is do the tables on the Arcade 1up pinball machines get burnouts?
The main issue I had with A1U pinballs, was the lag time with the flippers. Currently I am dismantling my Attack From Mars, and making it an FX/FX3 cabinet. Yes it does mean I had to find a few screens, it's not just plug and play, some new boards, and a little wiring. so far though it seems to be a solid project.
I am interested in getting those Arcade1up pinballs but I just want one and each of them have its own highlights - Mars Attack feels the most authentic, Star Wars has the best soundtrack. Can't beat that. And Marval has the most recognizable characters
Like most blokes, I have the double whammy of space and wife (aka Minister for Finance and War). Already have a stand up 2 player console Box that I have slowly upgraded with all the latest consoles back to good old Mame. Always been a pinny head by choice but have about 5 favorite pinnies I wanted to have. Decided to bite the bullet and ordered a virtual pinball machine from an Aussie company. After doing the research I found this company has currently the best build anywhere,, full size 10 soliniods, Stern knocker 6 speakers and meaty graphics and computer hardware, plus a 43 inch 120hz play field. This will give me access to not only my 5 favs, but another 800 other tables. Price is way up there and current wait times are long, but good things come to those who wait... Company also gives credit when they can (lots of UA-cam vids) to the makers of the virtual tables which I think is very important. Wait is killing me as here in Oz, we don't have many pinny parlors around any more and those open have 40 arcade games and usually only one pinny for old farts like me. Thanks for the great video and hope any aussie slang above makes sense.
Makes total sense why you sold. If you have ALP set up and working properly you don't really need the A1ups. I do have AFM and SW A1up along with ALP and I enjoy all of them. Without modification my A1up sounds much better and has better haptic feedback. Had to get external speakers for my ALP since the sound was so poor. But I love my ALP even though much more expensive since I had to buy a pc and pain to set up. But still worth it.
Very sorry to hear you had to move the A1up tables. I've thought of selling mine as I'm legally blind, and can't see the DMDs, and barely see the tiny balls in Star Wars, but my family enjoys playing them when they come over, so there we are. LOL. I do have a semi DYI kit I built from GameRoomSolutions which has a 27" playfield and 18" backglass monitor, but I had to go with the near full sized DMD LCD monitor which carries the DMD stream. Can see that much more easily. I run a Steam PC in that one. Have plans for building a special table just for the Zacaria tables, though. Since Zacaria tables only support two monitors, my plan is to do a table with two 32" monitors. Both set in portrait mode. The backglass monitor will emulate the tall, and narrow nature of most of the actual real world Zacaria tables, and allow me to see those more easily. On the GRS table, the Zacaria backglasses present so tiny on the horizontally oriented 18" backglass monitor it's hard, if not impossible for me to see the scores. The bigger, the better, for the Zacaria tables. Glad you at least have the ALP, and the BitPixel on it for the PC side DMDs. Only wish the included ALP tables' DMD stream could be picked up by the BitPixel display. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Did you wind up keeping the Attack From Mars Arcade1up? I know you were originally talking about keeping it and selling the other two. I have the Attack From Mars machine and love it and although I plan on eventually adding a Legends pinball the Arcade1up machine is still staying. Anyhow, nice thoughtful video as always!
Virtual pin is a gateway to real pin. Problem is real pin pricing is insane right now. That being said, I helped create a lot of cool stuff for virtual pin as did a lot of my friends. I even got to help Scotty a bit on pizza time. Enjoy
ALP seem better choice. I don't have space for game room so I can only pick one machine so went with choice with ALP because reasons you brough up but also more modding options so I can have coinops as well
I’m waiting to see what happens with wave 2 of Arcade 1up pins and what they do with them, before I pull the trigger. Add wifi and iron out some of the kinks, and they will have my money 👍
I always liked the looks of the 1up pinball machines. But I chose to go with the ALP because of OTG. Getting rid of stuff you enjoy is never easy. I think you made the best decision for your situation.
Yeah if they could make a virtual terminator 2 ,Adams family,or most stern games I'd be all in especially since these machines cost double in country with currency converting.
I just bought a arcade one up marval pinball everything works but it cuts off after about 3 to 5 minutes of playing it is there anything I can do about this problem
I have an arcade1up Star Wars pinball table and love it. I am going to be moving soon and will have more room so I really want to get a legends pinball table. Is it really difficult to set it up to run tables from your PC?
I don't blame you for removing Marvel and Star Wars as they aren't real pinball games. They don't belong in the arcade. Glad you kept the AFM and hopefully put the next Williams arcade 1up beside it - whenever we hear about it.
I dig my alp but like the taito and zacarria pinball tables . I was wondering if you can still play those tables and then switch to the PC for enhanced fx3 and visual pinball tables but then switch back to the original ones on the Alp? Is that a possibility or is it when you mod it you have to go one way and you can't go back easily?
When you have a pc hooked up to run fx3 or visual pinball, the pc is connected via and hdmi and usb on the alp. So all you do is change the channel input to what you want to play between original and pc.
Because the screen sucks and you can order insane cabinets from the UK and AU? At legends looks fun to mod eventually, but i ultimately decided on buying a 32" from ArcadeLand, their 544 LED version. What i like about the ALP is it has the ability to play Shmups and it looks fantastic doing it. But i also want a dedicated Vpin without any sticks or buttons on it. Probably having a Plants vs Zombies skin put onto it, that table is awesome and i'm a fan of the series. I looked into A1up and while it has its appeals, that screen man... it's hideous and it's too dang small!
I'm either going to sell mine as well or I'll do some modding with my own personal liking! Why would you put a 720p screen on this pinball machine? That was dumb and cheap!!! There's a huge delay on some of the tables on this pinball machine!!! This pinball machine should be called hooked on Phonics immediately! I will never use another pinball machine unless they change the screen to 1080p and the buttons and solenoids as well!
I hope you feel like trying a regular pin someday. I know they are damm expensive but they are really a thing of beauty. Well they have a huge footprint they also mature and gain value depending on the model you get.
Too pricy, too heavy. If you have room for a stern and the cheddar to buy 1 table with 1 stinking game on it all the power to ya's. The rest of us want variety without 7, 450lb machines in our apartment that we RENT.
@@EQOAnostalgia what about an older game you can still get some older dmd pins for half or less the cost of a stern. if you don't care about that an em pin is even cheaper.
Michael B. I never thought I'd get rid of my ToyShock Haunted House, because the artwork was amazing (Haunted House is one of my all time favorite real pinball machines), but alas, like you, it came down to room and also having a second machine that played those same games better, the AtGames Legends Pinball. And though I've had a myriad of issues with the ALP, it still is better than the ToyShock. I still do have my fingers crossed that if Arcade1up comes out with a Gen 2 pinball machine, they'll consider the idea they threw around, possibly giving Gen 1 pin owners access to an upgraded PCB. Maybe a bit of the 1080p action :) vgv
Perry Ball, Thanks for the info. Do you have a link to where this information is? It's definitely an update from what John D. from Arcade1up was speculating might happen. vgv
@@videogamevegasYeOldeAccount arcade 1 up never let people up garde PCBs before so I don't see them do it now . They will just release a new pinball and u have to buy it . It the way it always been with arcade 1 up. The only company that didn't was toyshock and that was just a better PCB because it was so bad.
Perry Ball, Yeah, just going by Arcade1up's history so far, your point is very valid, but when someone from Arcade1up says a pinball upgrade is a possibility, I wouldn't dismiss it altogether. Time will tell, and maybe you're right, but I'll secretly hope in the background. Thank you for your thoughts :) vgv
What’s funny is that you said you wouldn’t have an arcade machine with non arcade games on it yet you have an iiRcade lol. Hey it’s your house ,your stuff ,you can do as you please. I sold all mine as well. I’m gonna wait for next gen. No need to make convince us lol.
For the price Arcade 1up is charging for each compared to what it would cost to get an Arcade Legends pinball with a dedicated PC for Pinball FX3 and other VPB software, you'll find you're kind of wasting your cash.
I totally understand. I was on the fence with what I wanted with my pinball experience. I knew I only had room for one so if that was the case I wanted the biggest bang for my buck. So I ended up buying a virtual pinball table complete with virtual pinball, fx3 and I wanted the ability to add more tables. It took a while to get it up and running but I love it is Batman 66 themed so it is better then I could imagine. Not to knock Arcade1up but I needed value and I just did not see that with their pinball machines.
There is a company in Australia that sells a drive with everything setup to run hundreds of table with windows ghost (so need a pc). Would love to have that drive - make it way easier.
A lot of them provide the PC in their package and if they don't i wouldn't bother, configuring all that is a nightmare so if you buy a cab in AU or the UK where i'm buying from, just get an all in 1 with like 700 tables on it. Plug and play and the site i'm using remote accesses the PC to add more tables or fix any software issues. Win/Win. Not so much on the wallet though lol.
This is a great demonstration of why Arcade1UP's suck... they are disposable. If the cabinet is not authentic, I have very little desire to play it and it is more of an eye-sore than anything else. I would never touch any Arcade1Up product. I'd rather have one real pinball machine or one real arcade machine than an Arcade F-Up.
"ArCaDe 1 uPs aRe tOyS" blah blah blah not everbody got a couple thousand laying around to spend on a real arcade. Oh don't forget to add the weight and extra $$$ for the repairs that come with it
A1UP got spanked in pinball by Atgames. No reason to even have them aside from solenoids and looks imo. I'm curious how they respond with new pinball products. Hope they step up big time cause competition is a great thing.
Small number of tables look better in blurry 720p on a smaller screen with frame rate issues through plexi with a one screen box top? Yeah I'll bet. My intention wasn't to create a pissing war but as I stated i hope their next set of pinball tables blow Atgames away. I'll be buying then. Then the or if Atgames counters. That is good for all of us. Imo A1UP missed the mark this time. Atgames did with no solenoids. But they nailed everything else.
A1U has better games, better haptics, better UI, easier to pick up & play, easier to add a subwoofer if you want to, better ergonomics and better looks. Atgames has better screen, more tables available, and doubles as a vertical multicade. Neither is perfect, neither is bad, they are quite complementary and I don’t know which I’d keep if I could only keep 1.
@@kenfischer2785 I can agree with that. But we can play the entire Pinball FX 3 lineup on the ALP with an external laptop. Not ideal certainly but between PFX3 and other means you can have thousands of tables on the ALP. Hope A1UP let's that happen on their nexts. True home pinball wars!!
As we discussed directly, I was turned off by your original reviews for these A1up vpins. Just watched this all the way through and still wish you would not have stated toward the start you were "sticking by" those original reviews, because based on everything you list as disincentive to buy these over the next 13+ minutes, you do the exact opposite. Those A1up pins are all absolutely terrible (wasn't there one game in the Attack from Mars that didn't even work?), except for the artwork which is really about the only plus, just about everything else about them I have problems with from the scratch-friendly plastic instead of glass, the cheap backbox build, the odd width dimension that doesn't even feel like pinball, horrible playfield and animation graphic quality for the times (should have been minimum 1080p), crude DMD, this thing was DOA and I hope A1up never tries any sort of vpin again. Stay out of the vpin market, A1UP, because you suck badly at it. Were you "crazy" to let them go? No, you should have never bought a second one after playing the first. But I do appreciate you taking (a lot) of personal time to explain why you did. Basically, your knowledge and skill level in vpins -- at the time -- was very new and inexperienced. A year later, in this video, you seem to have learned more and see why it was very inferior. The Atgames Legends Pinball was comparatively a much better vpin, but even that has issues that require powering with a better screen (with 120hz refresh or better), more powerful computer and some better components, making it almost like you're building a better vpin than both of these. It's sort of a slippery slope and expensive to get truly into VPIN, but I guess the one positive from all of this is you did seem to learn from your initial experience. I just wish the A1up vpins were not so horrible compared to other options. I mean, it's like night and day difference between an A1up and a truly good quality VPIN. Sure, maybe A1up never wanted to compete in that market and maybe those that just want a toy machine that sort of plays pinball will be happy, but when they play something much better they won't want an A1up pinball anywhere near their gamerooms.
I think every gamer goes through this at some point. Try. Enjoy. Make way for something else. There's just too much gaming goodness out there not to experience all you can.
Not really, it's just a waste of money if you don't plan out your purchases in advance. Most of these guys get review cabs and sell them to make more content for their channel. I'm not saying that's Mike, but that's A LOT of dudes, and is not indicative of the average gamer. Most of us are into multicades now.

Yeah love GnR, it's the old Data East table
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie Nice!
Reason #4 - Thanks Mystery Encoder.
I actually haven't done the mystery encoder mod but great for people who want these games on one machine
@@MichaelBtheGameGenie Sorry, Michael. Couldn't help but make that joke.
Does fx3 utilize the haptic feedback?
That Jurassic park games looks cool
I dig my alp but like the taito and zacarria pinball tables . I was wondering if you can still play those tables and then switch to the PC for enhanced fx3 and visual pinball tables but then switch back to the original ones on the Alp? Is that a possibility or is it when you mod it you have to go one way and you can't go back easily?
Can switch back to originals easy. You just switch the ALP on and that’s it.
Pc is just OTG, you are not physically modding the table.
Can you share the specs for the pc that your running on your pinball.
What is a cabinet code and how do I get it?
Once you get a real pinball machine I would guess the other 1up goes shortly and then the other v-pin will be soon to follow.
I have a Godzilla Premium and a Bally Dungeons and Dragons now, still have my AtGames VPin
I cried after i watched this. I bought all mine because of YOU
Nah.....he backed out .....stay strong ....these things will be worth more if up.kept
Also they are priceless if you use em and save quarters
I'm either going to sell mine as well or I'll do some modding with my own personal liking! Why would you put a 720p screen on this pinball machine? That was dumb and cheap!!! There's a huge delay on some of the tables on this pinball machine!!! This pinball machine should be called hooked on Phonics immediately! I will never use another pinball machine unless they change the screen to 1080p and the buttons and solenoids as well!
ALP with otg crushes all A1U pinballs
Any chance you have a rampage for sale?
I hope you feel like trying a regular pin someday. I know they are damm expensive but they are really a thing of beauty. Well they have a huge footprint they also mature and gain value depending on the model you get.
By selling all that arcade1up shit he could buy a stern I did
Too pricy, too heavy.
Can you play Pinbot on Visual Pinball?
Now sell off everything in the room and fill it with real pins. You won't be sorry.
Maybe a bit of the 1080p action :)
vgv
Arcade 1 up will not upgraded the PCB for wave one pinball u will have to sell your wave 1. And buy wave 2 pinball that the arcade 1 up way.
Perry Ball,
Thanks for the info.
Perry Ball,
Yeah, just going by Arcade1up's history so far, your point is very valid, but when someone from Arcade1up says a pinball upgrade is a possibility, I wouldn't dismiss it altogether. Time will tell, and maybe you're right, but I'll secretly hope in the background. Thank you for your thoughts :)

Brilliant Choice❤️
What’s funny is that you said you wouldn’t have an arcade machine with non arcade games on it yet you have an iiRcade lol. Hey it’s your house ,your stuff ,you can do as you please. I sold all mine as well. I’m gonna wait for next gen. No need to make convince us lol.
I noticed Zen is making the Indiana Jones table, don’t know about arcade 1up
Did you make a profit? I bought mine for $800. I saw on ebay its now going for $900. I can make a $100 profit. Did you make a profit?
Thats what I was wondering, did you make a profit? So, did you? Did you make a profit?
I would have kept one and modded it to load all tables and Zen pinball
Sounds sweet. Can you send a picture of your pinball table? I'm thinking about doing a Batman theme. Thanks
Nice video Michael
real pinball will break down and be very time consuming and expensive to keep up. good luck
I want one but I'm only willing to pay $350 tops.
ALP all the way.
Yeah like A1UP cabs are authentic..lol .don’t kid urself. A1UP are toys and not collectibles.
I don't they are absolutely not authentic nor did i ever say they were
"ArCaDe 1 uPs aRe tOyS" blah blah blah not everbody got a couple thousand laying around to spend on a real arcade. Oh don't forget to add the weight and extra $$$ for the repairs that come with it
U sold it bc ur wifes about to divorce YOU...smart move!!
A1UP got spanked in pinball by Atgames. No reason to even have them aside from solenoids and looks imo. I'm curious how they respond with new pinball products. Hope they step up big time cause competition is a great thing.
No solenoids is exactly why I didn’t purchase the at games pinball
A1up has solenoids, looks better, don't have to login/have any account, no constant firmware that break everything.....wow, spanked indeed, lol.
How dare you sell them!
?
I see a lot of people selling these on marketplace
Gave my Attack from Mars table to a buddy for he and his kids. Yep…gave. Just not that fond of it.
Damn, u could have sold it for 40 bucks too !
I didn't buy one. The screens are too small.
Come on now...Isn't the real reason you sold them is because your wife knows tons of divorce lawyers?! 🤣🙏
Haha knows and Is one herself.
Attack from merrrs
These are simply toys, a cluttered toy room.
Real pinball is a toy too. Just a more expensive one
What do you think a real arcade and pinball is. ..... TOYS!
Thanks Todd, I appreciate the feedback man and thanks for taking the time to watch the rest of the video!
There is no video needed. We know why lol
winning!
get a netgear orbi
Does anyone want to buy my 1ups?
TRAITOR!!!LMFAO JK
That legends machine is as unauthentic as any arcade 1up and it’s ugly as shit
I sold mine too - because you can not really emulate pinball.
Ya, their garbage anyways. Just mod the one you kept
The resolution is hot garbage
I think every gamer goes through this at some point. Try. Enjoy. Make way for something else. There's just too much gaming goodness out there not to experience all you can.
Not really, it's just a waste of money if you don't plan out your purchases in advance. Most of these guys get review cabs and sell them to make more content for their channel. I'm not saying that's Mike, but that's A LOT of dudes, and is not indicative of the average gamer.
Most of us are into multicades now.
