- In the game of pinball, there is no greater reward than Wizard Mode - a hidden level that is only unlocked when a player completes a series of lightning-speed challenges. Robert Gagno has dedicated most of his life to mastering Wizard Mode and is now one of the top pinball players in the world. He also happens to have autism. He also happens to have autism. Refusing to believe their son was locked into a limited future, his parents supported his love of pinball as he practiced non-stop, developing an exceptional talent for the game. But now Robert’s real challenge lies outside the game on his journey to shed his youth and gain independence. Wizard Mode is a candid personal perspective on autism through the life of one of the world’s greatest pinball players. The film follows Robert as he seeks to balance his quest to become a world pinball champion and his growing real-world responsibilities, culminating at the largest pinball tournament in the world, Pinburgh, in Pittsburgh, PA.

I really enjoyed watching this very very much!
I’ve played pinball casually for 40 years. Only a couple years ago did something click where I saw deeper into it and then learned how complex and complicated pinball games can be. Now I’m addicted suddenly. But I swear it’s hard to explain to people how it all works. At least for me it is. 😂 I wish I knew sooner but I think 99.9% of people just treat it like a fun little game and never understand the type of goals and interactions/ interesting things you can do in a machine.

If it's got flippers it can be beat, I know the feeling of being able to beat any pinball machine, started playing at a real young age too, it's no secret to any machine, if you can read the card and follow the order you've got half the battle won, the other half is much tougher, excellent hand eye coordination is a must, gotta be a sniper, have good ball control whether making a pass or a two flipper save off the tips, be able to bump the machine to avoid draino's on the sides. My best memory was when I was 13 and was deer hunting with my dad and others, it was lunch so we went into a real small town to the only bar and they had a Star Trek machine and it was what I would call a beginners machine, this machine had a winner's pot for beating the high score. I asked dad if beat the high score do I get the money, it was in a goldfish bowl above the bar,, dad asked the old guy behind the bar and he laughed and said sure if he beats it still laughing, dad always had a handful of change in his pocket and he pulled out a handful and I'd usually grab a couple bucks worth so I wouldn't bug him when we were somewhere else, this time was different, I looked at that old man and smiled and picked 1 quarter out of the pile and held it up and showed him that it was only 1, I tilted the machine at 999,975 beating the high score by over 920,000 and to beat my high score you had to turn it over, I won about $40 but it was a really sweet win. Dad was laughing and that old man's jaw almost hit the floor, dad I talked about how that old man was gonna have to convince a bunch of local people that a 13yr old pinball wizard came in with his dad and smoked that machine and it only took him 1 quarter. I'm 57 now and found a place a that's got a bunch of machines close so gonna go play some pinball. Even now, if you ever come across a machine called Time Warp play it as much as you can, it has crazy curved flippers, it will make you a better sniper, you have to let ball roll to end of flipper to be accurate, it will help anybody's game if you can beat this machine, passing the ball is harder, a twin flipper save l to r or r to l is much tougher. Flip On!!!

Like most people I respect & understand what it takes to play any sport at a professional level. Though many people may love something like football etc & play it everyday, every other day; Few will ever play professionally let alone win a world championship. You are that professional Robert & always will be, don’t you ever forget that.

Yes unique topic to me but then it became more relatable not just about pinball about MH and wellness connections I almost turned off when resuming this the next morning I was at once intrigued he had an employmentworker because I'm still again in that process myself
It was great she geared it to his interests but some change or atent as strong as pinball at first I was like u idiot she just found u a job ud like and excel at why u saying no but then had these other thoughts
The topic of hugs was and would most always be interesting

I didny grow up with them but with my struggles and I mostly like people I need all the more hugs

Sometimes u gotta go right to the core not just ask is it realistic or practical but find a way to make it so
My spouse was multitasking this mirning and only seen the first 25 mins perhaps good as would see me alot in this guy and I'm not sure how this turns out yet if viewers even find out cuz sometimes docs dont showthat then can try and look em up if wish to

Did they copyright strike the audio in the last upload. They are very aggressive about audio in pinball videos, even though the rock band games are built at the request of the same rock bands. Crazy and pathetic state of affairs.

🤔 Hope I’m wrong, but I got a strong sense Demarco insinuated himself hoping to get exactly what he got here-exposure-soundtrack AND live performance.
(If the producers/directors are young and NOT from NYC, I’ll have a little hope I’m wrong.) 🤷♂️ I don’t like seeing this kid used like that otherwise.

Also the last time I heard my dads voice out loud was in a old VHS of my 2nd cmas from the muffled call with this guys dad but I heard the special and rhe love to them both watching footage if I'm processing that right that was included so this was not just about pinball man this is hitting on today dads 78th birthday in heaven I may not have easy access to play that tape or be with dad like I used to but I know hes around me glad I stay true to my passions like this guy and his son and that I to am making progress in life even If slowly snd that we have the same kinda father son love as them but not in person from him not like when I was a kid ye passed a month or 2 before my 12 birthday
