- Out running my GPz750 Turbo. Fresh from Roger Twito's shop in TN. New billet turbo wheel, ZX oiling upgrade, rebuilt clutch pack, among other things.
Mods: 810cc Big Bore Kit, GPz1100 intakes, Intercooler, HKS Relief Valve, DynaS ignition, Racetech Rear Shock, Fork Emulators, EBC Brake Rotors, Race Mode Enabled, Cosworth Widened Rear Wheel, Custom Exhaust, probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. Dyno sheet before upgrading the turbo, showed 184 RWHP at 165mph.
I have an 85 turbo. I cut the boost cut off wire going into the ecu. Put an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, bypass valve in charge pipe, cut the turbo pipe 9” after the turbo, jacked up the fuel pressure and now running 18psi on 110 octane. My bike flies !!!!! I’ve had my bike since 1990. Do you remember Mike Chestnut ????? He was a real whiz on these bikes !!! Great guy to have known!!!!!!
Horsepower Mike! 💪👊
Is Mike still around?
@@brandoncombs2942 unfortunately NO. He passed away a few years ago and I don’t know what happened to his stash of RARE parts went for these bikes !! He was a very nice person to talk to and his knowledge of these bikes were outstanding. He will be missed.
@@peterlyons4389 dang. I had him rebuild a turbo for me years back then went down to bring him the whole bike at the time. Super nice guy. Offered to let us stay at his place. He was the man for those bikes. He had a sweet pinball collection also. That’s too bad.
these were such a nice bike to ride. full of muscle and grunt, sat like a brick on an ice skate like rock solid, comfortable enough for long rides but at speed that wouldn't be long coz of the small tank so fill up every hour or less... it never failed to put a smile on my face and always handled with a real sure feeling. something many other bikes of the time lacked.
Beautiful bike, nice retro cockpit and fairing. Back then the bikes had better fairings that actually helped with comfort riding at speed on the road.
I need a turbo in my life!
750turboのブーストのかかり方が今まで見てきた動画の中で1番わかりやすい、もっとたくさんの人に見てもらいたい。very good!!
伊藤賢一 意外とパワーバンドが狭くて忙しい感じですね。
I still have my '85 GPz 750 (non turbo). Only bike I've ever had! Still amazed the power it has for a fairly heavy bike.
The red blinking light: You can fix that. The sensor cable, which used to be there for acid status monitoring, can be connected directly to the positive pole of the battery. then the flashing stops.
cobra66driver I left the blinker on there for a bit. Bad habit from riding self cancelling bikes. I had the red blinking DFI light on hard runs for a bit. A good cleaning and polishing of the main harness ground to the case fixed that :)
You need some corners in your life.....in a straight line your the man!
This makes miss my 85, loved that bike
I love this vid. Watch it monthly to motivate me to get out and clear the webs off my E2. If lived a anywhere near TN I would have Roger massage my bike too! Please post more vids if you got em on this gem!
I miss the days riding with those guys during a T.M.I.O.A. rally on my full custom "Purple Passion" turbo.Great friends and great times.
Nice, just restored mine after sitting for 12 years. I have some videos of it on my channel.
I never forgot my 750 rode from East to West coast and watched out for thugs ESCORT detector. Kind of funny sounds just like F-14 Top Gun they got lock on us Maverick hmmm?$$$$ ahhhhh LOL Todd from Bel AIr never forgot your wheel stand all 6 gears and South Padre Island .🤣🤟🤟🤟
Sound of jet taking off! Holy god
I need a 2024 version of this in fuel injection and modern cylinder heads with the modern turbo too.
Well, build one.
I was an owner...loved the boost meter!!!
Bestial despegue al entrar el turbo a 4500 rpm, nadie adelante de mí
my Godness.you are very lucky biker.
Had a nearly new Kawa.750turbo, couriered on one, magic high speed planted, travel bike. Nice,,nice bike.
that poor clutch wont live long with you slipping it like that during shifts!
Don't worry it is made by Kawasaki heavy industries.
Yes it will
@@romesyoutubechannel5356 ooookaaaaay
Was that the clutch or the turbo?
His skin won’t last long either... T-shirt🙈...
These bikes were special .
*Still are
Wow bro good job! She purrs like a kitten, and sing like a bee. I wish that I would have taken Mike Chestnut up on tank liners, the rust gets so ridiculous in the fuel filter that after one ride it's clogged. It sucks they made our tanks out of steel.
Nice area and bike of course 😃😃
Is the clutch slipping? That thing sounds sweet! My actual dream bike.
No. Thats the turbo kicking in.
@@CarWizard you of all people beat me to it! 😅 small world.
Yes its slipping hard
I had one (1985) it was scary fast you could crack the throttle in fifth gear and the front end would come right up for just about as long as you can hold it. I did almost drop it my very first time driving it my left hand came right off the grip as the front end came up I barely pulled it back to straight just as it was coming down my heart was in my throat pounding......these also are very rare bikes they only made 1500 for 2 years 1984/85 and they are numbered in sequence.....
Nice! What do you feel on this bike if you compare with a modern 600?
I had one as well. The bike would not wheelie in 2nd gear, let alone 5th. It had 104hp to the rear wheel. Sell your stories to the grade schoolers.
@@jp1234554321 LOL It's hilarious hearing some of these stories by people that never owned them or remember they used to have 400 hp.
Gavigg75 what??
@Gavigg75 Nope try low to mid 11's, which is alot slower than a 10second bike.
Very Cool Mate!
Yes still got mine 1984 zxE1 turbo .and they went like shit off a stick
Nice looking bike, I had one, and it was rubbish. The turbo seals went, it smoke like an old Battleship.
900R was far more simpler and reliable.
Sounds like the clutch is slipping.
It never once slipped in this video
Well it's been 3 years since this was posted, wonder if he's still alive.
9 of 9 still kicking, bike is running strong too :)
@@williamrobertson8962 Kawi mate, show it some love and it will run forever.
nice sound!!
Back in the eighties I bought one from a guy that was going to the Marines. I was getting too many tickets and sold it, one my many regrets. Now I have the Yamaha turbo bike that I play with, not nearly as quick as the Gpz.
The normally aspirated Yamaha Seca is faster than the turbo Seca.
It was a joke, looked like crap, rear drum brake(?) and didn't sell.
Total turd... 💩 👎
Ehm, do I hear pinging around 4:13-4:14? Or is that the mic?
Nice bike, im restoring mine also at the moment with some fancy stuff. :)
Ilja_ octane deficiency
Congrats for this amazing bike. What do you feel riding it? If you compare it with a modern 600 R, whats the difference? I mean just the engine. Thanks. Bye
luRivaya I’d say it most feels like my RD400, two stroke type power band. Except, the turbo is faster on top. It’s been years since I owned a Katana 750, it’s way stronger than that. It was carbed as well. I don’t have any seat time on a modern NA sport bikes, sorry!
@@timwerth5106 OEM
@@timwerth5106 maybe, never gave it a thought. They were installed when I bought the bike.
you're burning your clutch up shifting like that.
Idk why everyone says that. I’m not slipping the clutch. I think you’re hearing something else. I’ve been riding 20 years with 6 bikes currently in the stable. NONE have clutch issues.
@@williamrobertson8962 You're shifting at full boost. It's one thing if you mash gears but you're just letting the engine rev to the sky.
Ride it how you want you fool. Just don't be surprised when "everybody" says something about it.
is this carburated or fuel injected?
Injected
thanks!
Good job!! It is not readable on how much pressure your turbine works? Is it 10.5 psi as stock?
You say that before upgrade the hp was 185, what was the setup then?
How you control fuel with more boost? Power commander?? Is the ECU flashed??
I am now restoring one and am curious to know more on the above..
It’s making about 20 psi. I didn’t build the bike but I know it has race mode enabled on the ecu and Dyna ignition. It was turnkey tuned when I got it. The set up before was the same minus some tune up items, viton clutch dampeners, and billet turbo wheel. Roger Twito in gallatin, TN is a pro on these and Charlie Evergreen Turbo in FL is your turbo guy. Finally, 750turbo.com forum is your friend!
@@williamrobertson8962 perfect!!!i had no idea of this forum..will register there..thanks
Is the speedometer accurate on this? It doesn't look like you're going as fast as it says.
Ranjit Singh speedos are notoriously inaccurate and not adjustable. This one is about 5-10mph fast, error varies with speed.
Rutscht die Kupplung?
No
@@williamrobertson8962 wow😱
Stop shifting it like that!!
Since it’s mine, I can ride it how I want. Nice how that works.
@@williamrobertson8962 No comment, lol.
Bitchin bike how much for the CJ5 Jeep I wonder
The clutch is fucked mate
@@Marky948 idk what everyone is is hearing with clutch slipping??? clutch always worked fine all the way until i sold it a few months ago with 65k miles. Even had new derlin dampers installed and the clutch looked fine.
@@williamrobertson8962 rapid increase of revs with minimal increase in speed = clutch slip
Speedo is not accurate
Needs to learn how to change gear🙈
That a turbo sound 🗿
Futututu
wy cant you just drag that bike to the fucking rev??
In 83 the average cop car struggled to do 80 mph so 140 mph was a rocket ship.
Needs a external wastegate the boost creep is so bad
