That's the thing about artists, most of the time they're under the impression getting lit before an interview is going to unlock some deeper insights, or something, but the truth is they just look wasted.
@@fapstudios1i sincerely doubt that's 'the thing about artists' at all, more likely he just smokes weed and this interview happened at an inconvenient time. no one who smokes weed and acknowledges the communicative struggles that can come with getting extremely stoned would think it prudent to get as stoned as they possibly could before doing an interview intentionally.
His speaking voice really surprised me when I met him. I was shocked. It made me think of the south park episode with Michael Jackson saying let's climb a treeee. Love Dax and the soft spoken voice too, it adds that much more power to his singing I think.
Awww. Dax is such a sweet, sweet boy 😂😂😂. In all seriousness he's one of my favorite musicians/vocalists of all time. Everything he's done is just nothing short of amazing. I'm even getting deeper into his Deadboy and the Elephantmen material more which I wasn't too crazy about years and years ago. He has such a uniqueness and depth about him that you can't deny. I'm just greatful he's still making music. I just have to catch a live show of his sometime!
Dax is one of the most personable, clever, humble & well spoken musicians I’ve had the pleasure to meet. I make great effort to catch him anytime he’s playing in my area because it’s always an awesome & truly memorable experience.
He's always talked that way. I have been knowing him since we were 16 . We went to Jr and some highschool together. He's a mellow dude and a good artist also. That's my homie for life
I find Daxs' choice of Ledbelly of being the musician he'd want to be pretty interesting. That was Kurt Cobain's favorite musician and I think Kurt would have loved Daxs' music had he lived long enough to hear his music. I find myself listening to a lot of Nirvana and Acid Bath lately as I find some cool similarities between them (but even more with Kurt's acoustic driven music and Daxs' softer material). Also, Mark Lanegans solo stuff is pretty similar to Dax Riggs' solo stuff as well.
Haha that’s usually how most Dax interviews go.. there a couple on here that are pretty good… got some acid bath questions in them which u don’t get out of Dax often haha
"Yeah so... Uhm... You used to make music that sounded different to what you make now? Wow, that's craaaaazzzy. Soooo you uhm....... You grew up in Louisiana?" (Seriously, read it in her voice) *yeah* Dude for the life of me i couldn't tell if she was turned on or terrified. Maybe a fine line between both. What the fuck is so intimidating about DAX. Like, this dude is a gazelle and you need to give him room to run around and eat mushrooms and shit. Seriously.
Appearance please... New poem.... New song.... Hell, old song we haven't heard.... The universe calls for it at this stage... Needs something.... The skyscrapers are definitely resembling gravestones again... People are all wearing their very own shadows...again... Myself... I'm ready to dress up in smoke before I wither into bone dust... the stars will light up the moon and we will all dance naked...illuminated... by the terrors of night life... we shall slumber... alas, the rain we hear falling will bring no rainbow...as we yearn for that otherworldly dreamer... a reckoning.... we will dance naked around that lonesome fire ... dreaming, If I could open my boundless eyes I'd scream...
I'm sure this girl is sweet and perhaps she was a bit starstruck. But she's a horrible interviewer. Give the man a platform, converse with him to allow him to be comfortable in your presence. we can all hear the timidity and fear in her voice, whether it's all the "um's" between questions, or the lack of response from her when he answers her questions. She's leaving it open ended and allowing for awkward silence. I know dax is soft spoken, and kind of an awkward person, but that's all the more reason to be able to fill in those awkward silences and help him feel like he's having a discussion rather than being interviewed. It's journalism 101. All these people think they can just be journalists and start doing interviews but they haven't any idea of how to conduct them because they aren't educated and haven't done any amount of research on journalism. It makes it so hard for the viewers to enjoy and stay interested. Nevermind the viewers, it's flat out mean. Dax is somewhat shy and doesn't have the strongest social skills, so if you're gonna interview him like this, I'm sure it's just spiking his anxiety and he's too polite to say "hey I'm done with this interview."
When I met him in Austin after a show, I had nothing to say to him other than that I was inspired by his music, and that I was truly happy to meet him and get a picture with him. After that I left him alone, it wasn't because I didn't want to hang with him. It's because I was a little buzzed and didn't want him to think I was an asshole or make him uncomfortable. Sorry, wasn't trying to make that about me, just reiterating your point about how timid he is, based on my experience.
Good thing she's not interviewing Kurt Cobain. Shit ...he would've mocked her, laughed at her, and then walked off. What a shit interview. Dax is being really cool about the lame questions she's asking him.

Although I appreciate this interview so much .this chick not qualified in any shape or form to be the interviewer of this man she has no real clue what he is what he means to a genre of music that most will never know
Dax isn't shy necessarily, he is just mellow. He's actually very self assured but also down to earth, he's not trying to impress anyone, he's doing his own thing. Definitely an introvert but that doesn't always, doesn't even usually equal shy. That was my impression of him when I met him 20 years ago and I'm sure he is no different now.
If you could pick the worst person to interview him I think she is it..no offense, but her questions are nowhere near the depth of what dax riggs writes.
Who ever runs this channel, you are a hero among men. Thank you for cataloging Dax and the thread of the dead boys, and girls.

It's a lot to open up about and talk about with someone. I think they did a great job explaining the complexities of belief.
