Well, it was a good effort. Going through the bottom is one of those things that happens from time to time. Suggestion: before taping and pouring resin, put it back on the lathe and make the hole good and round. Second, if you’d like, we can face time for a few minutes and I can sho you how to make a depth gauge that shows how far to the jaws. That way it works for both recess and tenon without having to get between the jaws. Keep after it.
Thanks Doug. I had a good measurement and just kept going. I filled in the open areas with ash and I think because I kept seeing the ash sawdust I didn't think I hit my depth yet. I earned that thing lol. They took it away from the space guys after I got out. Wish I had the original blue ones, but cross trained a little to late for that. They make great cover alls though.
