We've seen our fair share of Porsche's on Petrolicious (and being a Porsche owner I've got no problem with that) but as beautiful as this car is, this video is truly more about the story than the car. The fact that it's been through a few transformations and each time is born again into a different variant of 911 shows how Porsche's are limited only by their owner's imaginations. Would love to see Petrolicious do a follow up to see where Andre, his wife and his awesome 911T go next!
@@nohandle54 Absolutely. Especially when the owner has done a whole lot of miles (or km's) in the car and in this case, across several continents. I just met a man the other day who said he had at least 750k miles on his Land Rover 110 (he'd stopped counting the miles after his third engine upgrade.) I said "this Rover has seen more than even the most seasoned traveller!" Kind of like this 911, I know it's cliche but the adage "if these walls (or Porsche) could talk...." Just imagine the stories this car could tell.
"whenever Andre and his wife want to travel some place new, they forego the rental car and just ship their 911, affectionally named “Frisco,” and use that to explore instead" Now that's absolute luxury!
I once saw a picture, a Porsche, half mud half clean, one man in two looks, one in racing suit other one in suit. I really like the concept of porsche. This car just can be with you all the time.
When I was in West Germany, back in the late 70s with the NATO Canadian forces, one of the guys in unit bought a 911, and he was around 6'3" tall and he fit into it with no problems, we even went up to the Nürburgring ans spent around 300 marks and spent the day having a blast.
The one millionth Porsche 911 got painted a shade of green just like this. I think its called "Irish green". I love the look of this 911. There is nothing more satisfying than an old 911. Thanks so much for sharing.
You can tell a lot about the car and its owner by the colour scheme of a build... How much attention they pay to what colours go where and onto what parts says a huge amount about how much they care about the vehicle. Green, silver and chrome is a phenomenal combo, bravo!
Loved the style of this car since I first saw an image of it back in February and now knowing its background just makes it even better. Cars that are built to be used and enjoyed by an individual always inspire me and in my opinion hold far more beauty than any polished trailer queen built for a show. I've always hoped to inject some of the ethos of projects like this into my Mk1 Jetta build as it progresses
Fantastic story... I got a little choked up! Probably because I have an old car in my life ('67 Mustang) that has gone through a similar transformation.
Saw this at the Adelaide Motorsport festival, spent close to an hour just staring at it, something about the colour, scratches, roof racks etc just makes it special, absolutely love it
As beautiful as the car is, the story attached to it resonates with me tremendously! I have a project that im working for which i intend to use towards a similar purpose. My project vehicle is not a Porsche, but the concept of 'its not the destination, but rather the journey that gives the trip meaning' gives a sense of personal connection and inspiration for the road ahead! Great documentary!
Drove Andre around when he was in Melbourne. One of the most inspiring human's I've ever had the honour to spend time with. Fantastic video as always 😎 look forward to the next one!
I saw this car at the Adelaide Motorsport festival two weekends ago. Stunning car with a perfect colour combo! I can’t believe it’s now been featured on one of my top 3 fav channels! Thanks for the story!
Absolutely love it when people such as yourself who are passionate about a brand/model/car refurbish and use it in the manner it as design for. I would love to do these types of tours with my Porsche 928S4 M89. If you are still in Australia and in/around Melbourne would love to catch up for a coffee (Frisco :-) ). Keep on keeping on
This is such a joy to watch!! I hope do be able to do the same thing in 15 years!! Props to Firsco and his owner to explore the world in a true Porsche 911 and Petrolicious for documenting this wonderfull story!!!
Sort of reminds me of my first 911's. A 1968 and a 1977. Before these cars were so revered and costly, I used mine for camping, skiing, work. even a little off road travel. We used to go camping with 3 kids and large dog and full camping equipment including an inflatable boat for a week or more. I drove my 1968 for 175,000 miles. It was my everyday driver including sales calls up and down the West coast and Canada. He is right about the mystique of driving an air-cooled torsion bar 911. They are pure joyful motoring. Not so much with the newer coil spring "civilized" Porsches. EXCEPT the early Boxsters. They are reminiscent of the old 911's.
Love it. My "new" car is a 2003 SAAB but my DD is an '88 BMW 535is. I don't need a bunch of the latest gizmos and luxury to be perfectly happy. This car is great and the story is great.
Sean McNeill three of us of our family had the opportunity to visit Ireland three years ago. I am trying now to get dual citizenship to reside there. I’m from across the pond in Alaska USA baby! I truly love Ireland…😘😍
I’ve followed this car on Instagram for the last year and a half to two years and love it. I always thought a little mini ducktail spoiler like he built for Frisco would look good on a 912 Outlaw car. I’m actually surprised that nobody manufactures a mini ducktail decklid like that. I think a lot of people would buy them.
THIS video, right here, is exactly why Petrolicious is the BEST automotive UA-cam channel!
That single thumb down...mistake, right🤔
Filmed in Australia !
26 thumbs down now.
@@bicyclist2 Can't say they didn't have it coming to 'em for sharing such godawful content.
so agree...
The car that inspired Seen Through Glass 991 Carrera T !
They need to meet up in Australia
@@tehuti45 Or in Japan, he mentioned he wants to take Frisco there. Where they meet doesn't really matter, the important thing is they DO. :)
Inspired????? LOL since when has a 911 inspired ANYONE?????

Imagination and bank account*
I think I love these cars more - the ones that aren't precious in the monetary or collector's sense, but precious to the owners
@@romanstinkt Ha! I thought someone might say that the second I wrote it! But yes you're right, I just didn't want to rain on anyone's parade.

This is the kind of build we need on Forza Horizon 4
New porches are superb but the old air cooled ones really speak to me.
Air cooled.

I love vintage Porsches!
Me too
I don't know how Petrolicious affords to make these videos and broadcast for free. They deserve way more subscribers.
Very nice story.
Very nice car.
Very nice name. I think every car should have one.
These videos, these cars and these people have a special place in the world
Without a doubt, this is my favourite of all Porsche I've seen to date.
Stunning vehicle and the owner seems super genuine.. what a life
South Africa represent ! Frisco coffee is kak but your car isn't ! Beautiful machine you have there . Mooi man
Vat so jou lekker ding!
LOL, Frisco coffee is shit. SA in the house!
How is it down there anyways with the land grab?
Is Frisco even classified as coffee? I thought it was chicory and dirt.
Frisco you give to the neighbours so they know to move! Lol! Still on the shelves, can't believe, but truely kak coffee!

what a beautiful Porsche! good to see him using it an not afraid to scratch it!
Well it's been crashed and rebuilt and isn't all original anyway so that makes it less stressful to drive out on the open roads.
Wonderful car and a wonderful story. I can absolutely understand how it inspired SeenThroughGlass.
I hope they meet up in Japan or somewhere else in the year
Jack White Wouldn’t that be fantastically cool!!

Took a moment, but then I realised I did the exact same thing. Probably the first Petrolicious cars I can say I've seen in person!
Nothing drives like a Porsche 911...it is a true connection.
I swear these videos are so amazingly shot! You guys knock it out of the part every single time. 👏👏👏
This. Was. Wonderful. What a story. (Vintage, air-cooled 911s are simply great cars.)
Beautiful and humble story. This is how life should be lived.
Again a powerful and emotional video.
