Thank you Misha @mgcharoudin for the excellent drive! As a passenger it was fantastic. It seems like it doesn't go that fast - all I can say is that it did - and in an 52 year old car there isn't anything to filter the elements so the senses were fully loaded. Highly impressed by your driving skills - especially how you drove the car a few hundred meters and then it felt like you had done nothing else but driving this car. Thank you for bringing the car out on the Nordschleife and back to its roots!
You have a stunning 911! Thanks for allowing Misha to drive it and film it for us! I had an '89 3.2 Carrera for 16 years until a few months ago. What I miss the most is the rawness of it. They grab all your senses (maybe except taste!).
Congratulations on such a beauty! I always wonder how it would be to drive and own one of these gems and consider buying one. This video helped me understand a couple of things: - This car is not as agile as modern cars (we all know this, this is no news, but seeing it is different), things have to be done let's say carefully and methodically. Maybe feeling it in person is also different, I still will be missing that part. - This car is probably 4 times better than the average Porsche from the 70s (that I would maybe be able to afford) and does not have the top amazing upgrades and top maintenance that this one has. The average one has to be a lot worse to drive. Makes me wonder: Do you have any other modern car that checks other boxes too and makes you smile in a different way? Do you agree at all with my opinion? Cheers!
Yea you can't go wrong with that air cooled flat 6; sounds beautiful and feels great to drive with also to the original poster of this comment is the 1986 carrera have the oil filter right in front of the rear wheel like it was in the 993
Look at that beauty! Nothing beats that mechanical feel and mechanical dials. It’s 50 years old and still looks better than 99% of cars out there. Bravo Ferdinand!
Wow... I've seen all kinds of cars on the channel - new, old, fast, slow, but this has to be my favorite car by far. Light, manual, analog, naturally aspirated, enough power without being overkill or just undriveable... Can't think of a better combination of qualities.
Michael ia absolute beauty of a person! He surprised me to trust his other car which was a dream to even see in person and not even to dream of driving one all together!
The owner got a real dream car! Its very kind that he lets you drive his old Porsche because not everyone would do that when you got such a nice old classic car. Best sounding car 2024 on your channel in my opinion especially on full throttle from 4000 to 6500 rpm.
That right there shows why Porsche is what it is today!! A 52 year old car that can compete with todays cars and do it in style! Beautiful car!! Fint renoverad, bra gjort Michael!!
Seeing you come onto the straight and taking the ear plugs out and steping onto the throttle and listing to it sing and watching that smile reminds me why i love classic cars. Its for those moments we live for.
I picked up a 930 last year, and my wife was blown away with the sound of the motor at full throttle. She had never really been a car person, until that moment. Then she understood.
I enjoy all of your videos, but this one took a special place in my heart. I got my driver's license on a '84 Carrera. You two were definitely the coolest folks on the track that day. Thanks for sharing.
Several years ago I had a 1970 Porsche 911 with tuned engine plus free exhausts, and it's roar at high revs could freeze the blood. Glorious, ferocious sound!
That was absolutely fantastic. The car it's self is so beautiful and the interior is classic. Simple, functional, nice materials, beauty. The engine is a jewel. The sound, everything. I am speechless.
Beautiful long nose. Old 911s are quirky, but there is something so special about the sounds they make, the view through the fenders, and the feedback through the steering wheel.
The first time I saw a air cooled Porsche up close it gave me such a lasting impression It's so perfect I could cry and no other sport cars can give me that feeling probably
Im so glad you drove one the air cooled flat six is still a great feeling to drive with. I miss the 911 Carrera I used to have; it's great to hear that sound again. Also is the one thing that always makes me wanna hear the 917 from the interior
Cars like this prove that faster and newer is not allways beter. I hope new generations of car enthusiasts realise this as soon as possible. Forget laptimes, go for the full raw experience.
These retro cars are so much more connected and fun than most modern ones. Miss when my 95 vette was on the road. TCS one those cars applies the brakes so I always had it off. 300hp/335tq from factory. Brutal car, considering the prices.
The owner is just a cool and classy bloke. I mean, you can trust in Misha trying not to crash your car, and afaik, he never crashed an expensive/irreplacible classic but how Michael casually tells when it loses grip, it's game over just before the drive is hilarious.
THANK YOU, Misha, for bringing back the pedal camera for this video! The brake pedal work really shows your talent in being able to handle a car with a historically dangerous driving dynamic (as well it shows how cautious you are driving and I do not blame you for that!). Really enjoyed the video!
I've always had a feeling (just a feeling) there was something off about your driving but the way you handled this car (and a 992 GT3 RS a couple of months back) is changing my mind. Lovely braking, always combining steering with throttle input and being very delicate with it while also fast. Great video.
Not sure I’ve ever seen Misha so focused? Aggressive, yes, in the new stuff, but here he’s working hard. At first, not to bin it. Later he’s enjoying the effort. Nice
Old Porsches don't have much in the way of aero aids, not to mention everything else. That gas tank on the front gets lighter as the lap goes on making the weight distribution even more extreme. If you let off the throttle you cut traction, you need to be really in touch with the car to not flip it into a barrier - I've got no personal experience in this, but any good simulator will give you a nice wake up call to how these cars can go suddenly from "great" to "not great" :)
@@Galf506 i‘ve got experience in this and let me tell you, all the online horror stories about snap oversteer etc blabla are wholly unfounded. You need to have a basic understanding of the physics of weight transfer and what it does to the car (in theory) then a 911 will be the most rewarding, intuitive car you can possibly drive, just because it communicates everything it does to you non-stop. In fact I started on track with an aircooled 911 and then made the switch to BMW and I was really struggling to gain trust in the light rear.
Great car and great sound. Funny watching all the grandkids coming past, young upstarts, (991&992gt3s) - but they wouldnt be here if it weren't for the grandads like this one. Bravo, and thanks for the lap and the generous owner.
When you looking and listening to this amazing beautiful one.. you look and listen to Porsche now with all new shit that they shitted up.!! What an absolute gem 😍
Beautiful 911!! I had a 1978 911SC in the same colour combination and 100% stock I also owned a speedyellow 1996 911 993 Turbo with a 3.8 conversion 600hp and 595 ft lbs of torque Also has PSS9 suspension and many more mods Would of loved to have taken that beast around the ring 😅
I once drove a 1978 911 Turbo, had huge respect for it lol. I would never dare to drive it as fast as Misha did with this 911 :) Lovely car, looks superb!. Nice work on it.
Porsche actually moved the oil tank to in front of the rear axle once more when the Porsche 964 came out in 1989, but the filling cap remained under the hood so that people don't mistakenly fill in the oil tank with gasoline (which is one of the reason why the 1972 oil flap disappeared) Only other 911 that has the external oil flap would be the 1967 ultra-rare 911 R, but that is a homologation special with double digit build numbers

There is NOTHING like an original AIR Cooled 911. I miss my 86 Carrera track car. What a beast it was!!!
Other than an air-cooled Beetle of course. Or a 356.

@lootbird what are you talking about dude said he drove one but still what are going on about
It might not be as fast as modern versions, but I guarantee that is the rawest driving experience imaginable.
New cars are way too dull and sedated.
Amen to that :)
1. Its fast enough IMO :)
2. I just love the vintage look...
THIS is most definitely one of the best cars I've seen here, thank You for sharing!

That car has to cost a fortune to repair if he just crash it, that's maybe why he's so focused
Also does require some skill and effort to pilot. Old school RR cars love to spin.
