Hats off to you, Sir, for owning, and more importantly, driving an amazing vintage Porsche! Most people obtain a valuable vintage car like that, and don't drive it! They just put it on display in their garage in occasionally dust it. And great job Petrolicious for not having music overpowering the engine. Well done. 👍
but alas...this guys hardly drives his Porsche's. He even said so in the first minute of the video. We need more car owners like Jay Leno, not this uppity snob!
That's a wonderful 911, mr. Telfer. My girlfriend was an artist, sadly she passed away in 2018, and I'm a Porsche nut. She always wanted me to have an old 911 as that's the car I probably love most. One day I will honor her wish; in the meantime I wish you many more happy miles and slides :)
Finally, finally, FINALLY! Petrolicious has found their roots and come full circle to what made their videos stand out and become loved by millions! The backstory, the human experience, expression of passion, the artful video production. Thank you Petrolicious, these are the stories that you need to keep finding and producing.
I fell in love with my uncle's yellow 911 thirty plus years ago. Your passion to DRIVE the Bahama Mama makes me remember that first drive. Maybe someday I'll be able to drive something so magical as your analog Porsche. Thanks for sharing ... and revving!!
If they only made them like that now. Pure simplicity and the joy of driving is what it is all about. Not your living room on wheels. No electronic parking cameras, warning sensors and stereo systems. The sound of the engine is all you need. Great video!
I was friends with Bob Snodgrass and my dad had one of Peter Gregg's 911s' and it was a great car. We also had 1 1965 911 as well and i sure which I still had those cars. Great story.
I have been a 911 fan since I was 14 when I found out my doctor at the time had one. That was in the mid 1970's in the middle of no where southern Midwest. Then I got the bug. Many years later I moved to Germany and bought my first 911. 1999 996 cabrio. Worst 911 made but I really liked it. Now, I have a 2018 911 Turbo, 540 HP and is a monster, which I drive on the Autobahn to northern Italy and having a great time. However, THIS 68' 911 I will take every day of the week. There is something about early 911's that are magic.Well done man! Cool car and cool dude! Love the story and I completely agree, love people and for god sakes have a passion in life!
Well spoken! As an artist myself I just spent the last year restoring a BMW R90 motorcycle that I love driving in the forested roads here in the summer months. Pulling back the throttle and shifting gears is a blast, although I haven’t gotten close yet to the red line, yet!
Sliding it!!! First day I had my '70 911T, I picked up my brothr-in-law, who had a 356, and went for a blast around our "GP course" through the New York Worlds Fair and environs. I overcooked it on a cloverleaf entrance ramp and spun it 270 degrees! Turns out the tire pressures were way off, different on each corner! Lesson learned and much respect for the car from then on. Quality vid and quality guy.
Damn....You are my hero. When l was 14, I moved into a house next to a lovely lady doctor with a 68 Bahama Yellow 911 targa soft window. I was in love. I told her that when I was ready.. I wanted that car. She kept it forever, so with my meager earnings I bought a new 1976 914...The love continued, and the last 2 of six Porsches were 911s. That sound you described... A 911at high RPM ..... I read once that it was like 'The Hounds of Baskerville being castrated'. Horrid description, but what an intoxicating symphony it is. thanks for sharing this.
I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Kelly and his wife at the Petersen museum for the pre-Luftgekühlt party a little less than a year ago. They are both fantastic! True car people through and through. Really warms my heart to hear from him again, especially in these times. Thanks Kelly!
Way to break the mold. My dad always used to say...just because you drive a cool car does NOT mean you are a cool person...Refreshing to see someone who gets it! A true Porsche enthusiast! "If you're not sliding an early 911, you're not doing shit" This guy gets it. What a great history. '73 is my year for Porsche right now. I dream of owning a '73 RS. Thanks for the inspiration of what's possible
Didn't think i'd ever see a Petrolicious feature of any car up Highway 9 and Skyline, let alone a 911. Awesome work. Now I know what an aerial view of the road i've driven on the past 10 years of my life looks like!

I've had s few G-Model 911, got bored of them and bought two 991.1 from which I switched to a 991.2 just weeks ago. My dad was a gentleman racer from 1970 to the mid 80s and had three 911 after he owned a 912. Last Saturday we talked about the 911 cars he had and the more he was talking about the cars, the more passionate he got about them. The last 911 he had was a 190hp 1972 S and he said, he had to sell it because of the high insurance costs - "and I would have lost my drivers license"... He's almost 70 now and he doesn't need such cars anymore (but a dozen British and Italian motorbikes), but I felt what he felt when we were talking about the old 911. Uh..and I guess we both learned never to speak about money when it comes to the 911. ;-)
Really enjoyed this piece! The owners advice about getting out and leaning on old analog cars really hit home, clearly he gets it. The angles music and general video editing in all of your videos is just incredible. Thank you for the entertainment and artistry.
