Never seen such a detailed review. As a petrolhead, I loved it! The thing about the Escalade, why it's been so famous among so many cultures, is not just its size or the branding. It is simply the uniqueness, presence, and thrill it has. You'd wonder what people would do with a 7-seater full-size luxury American SUV, and believe me, you can do a lot. Probably everything as long as it's capable which it certainly is.

@Andy's Shop Unless you owned a 90 model SS, a 92 GMC sport, a 2003 and a 2005 SS. You couldn’t give me one...the GMC looks a lot better to me, but any new full size GM truck is a “lease only” option afiac. Its not smooth, and the design doesn’t flow. It looks totally convoluted IMO.
Hi guys. Great review. I am not a fan of this Escalade. I said it to Autogefühl, and I’ll say it to y’all. I see GM cutting features while exponentially raising the price. If they were brand new, side by side, I’d take a 2004 ESV Platinum long before this one, at less than half the price. Look at TODAYS owner reviews for it and see what I am talking about. The new one: third row discomfort. I have a 2 year old Mazda CX-9, and get compliments on how comfortable the third row seats are. No one I know likes the third row in the new Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade. Why not make it softer, and elevate it off the floor a few inches, and make more of these SUV’s with comfort enhanced second row bench seats? That’s the way I think a Cadillac should be. Not sure about the vehicles they are making now.
The Escalade generation your talking about was the last “unique” Escalade, they had sculpted wheel arches which made it really stand out from the Tahoe / Yukon I dislike how slab sided these are making the GM triplets less distinctive. By 2007 The GMT-900 was still a let down with no IRS or Powerfold seats something it’s competitor has had since 2003..side by side a 2004 has more aesthetics than the present models hopefully the next gen can remove that outdated column shifter and provide unique door / wheel arches atleast..
2W3X4YZ5 no no no GM has never offered IRS ever on their SUVS although its rumored for next gen they decided to add powerfold seats in 2015 both features the Expedition has had since 2003, so basically a second generation 2003 - 2006 Navigator / Expedition still competes with newer GM SUVs in terms of features.. the consumers will be applauding GM for IRS when yet again Ford has already that tech for improved passenger seating and a lower loading floor, the GMT-900 “look nice” but they are fundamentally the same 1990s SUV in comparison to Ford giving you substantial updates every generation... Ford would’ve slaughtered the GM SUVS with their latest generation but they designed the engine bay not to feature a V8 so if GM can give me IRS, Powerfold seats and get rid that column shifter they may actually have a Expedition competitor for the first time in years..
@Corey Adams My mistake. I was thinking the coil spring rear suspension. GM needs to stop the cost cutting measures if they are going to keep raising their prices.

Aldino Aldinovic let’s call you SLOW. You’re pointing out the obvious. Of course a 6 year old truck will feel a little “outdated”. But when you consider some of the tech and mechanics compared to competition it really isn’t that far behind. This “outdated” Cadillac has a 10-speed transmission, a 6.2L naturally aspirated V8 that manages to get the same highway MPG of the *brand new* redesigned Lincoln Navigator, Magnetic Ride Control, rear view camera mirror technology, and will literally park itself. Not to mention one of the best driver information centers and displays amongst the market...a 12.3 inch fully digital gauge cluster on a 2015-2020 Escalade! Which makes this model 6 YEARS OLD. You have no idea how silly you sound complaining about how outdated this vehicle is, especially when it isn’t even that far behind for its age and offers tech that still isn’t available on even brand new models from some of it’s competition. I definitely see why this remains the best seller of its segment even today 6 YEARS LATER. Cadillac knocked this out of the park and it was way ahead of its time when it was released.
I can’t believe people are really as dumb to complain about how “OUTDATED” this model Escalade is, as if it wasn’t released 6 years ago! Even now it isn’t “outdated”.
