Great video review. Thank you. All the detailed information and comparisons to past models, features, upgrades, and to other brads was very helpful. I'll look forward to your in depth and comprehensive review of the new generation 2021 Escalade.
Thank you! I'm hoping the new Escalade looks decent, the 2021 Tahoe/Suburbans aren't really my thing, and the leaked photos of the new Escalade's front end aren't floating my boat right now either.
Agreed, but even if it falls short of expectations it will still rule the road because 1) it's an Escalade and 2) it will have the 6.2L V8 - two things the Navigator will never have.
I really hope it’s outstanding. After spending a week with the 2020 BMW 7 Series it’s clear to me which vehicle is the best between the Escalade and an X7. Cadillac has the potential to make something really spectacular, I just hope they do.
Another great video!! You should take the transcripts of all your reviews and make a blog site or self-publish them into a book via amazon. Perhaps creating an annual series. Keep up the great reviews and I wish you much success!!
We do copy over the videos and description to our website at www.perpetualradio.ca, even did dedicated written reviews for some of the vehicles this year, and a lot in 2018. It's something I'd like to look at continuing again down the road.
Can't get enough Escalade! What do you think about the new 2021 that Cadillac just announced? I had a chance to see it in person yesterday at the Toronto Auto Show and it looks phenomenal.
The second row seats need to be a second set of first row seats. Heated, vented, massaging and have a console inbetween. They can literally make everything but the foward and backwards power, so you can still slide the seat foward to get in the rear
I LOVE the honest assessment of emotional impact of driving a larger than life car like this - had absolutely no idea Cadillac had that cache and I am a "car enthusiast" (at least I thought). I also appreciate the deep personal honesty - I'd say more than half of us buy cars to impress do addressing it directly is great. I ALSO thought you would say it didnt turn heads as much as the Stelvio QV but was blown away when you confirmed it turned heads MORE. Go figure. I need to rethink my life.
I used your review of the 2018 to make my purchase of a 2019 Cadillac Escalade Esv crystal white tricoat. The self parking is a joke but happy with everything else. Thank you
This vehicle was in an accident on that corner, it’s why we didn’t have it back in July like we originally booked, however I imagine the front area looks that way due to the direct sunlight hitting it and it not being fully polished and detailed.
Because of your 2018 video, I traded a 2021 Lexus GX 460 for a preowned 2018 Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade has more features and drives better than the GX. I also purchased an extended warranty for the Escalade.
Glad to hear it! I really liked the Escalade when I first drove it, as someone who didn't have much exposure to the Cadillac brand, my eyes were awoken after driving it.
I've wanted to film a Hummer H1 forever now, finding them are next to impossible! There are some stellar examples out there, just making it happen is hard.
It's really simple, yes the navigator is better but the Escalade does just give you that extra something that no other brand offers. I dont kno what it is but the Escalade has it. I like the Navigator, it's hot🔥🔥🔥 but I would buy the Cadillac in a NY minute 💪🏿💪🏿
@@PRNTestDrive I personally think Cadillac is gonna step up but it still won't be on the level of the Navigator. I still don't think it will affect the stranglehold Escalade has on the large SUV market. Even the GMC Yukon is better out here in the real world. It's like a step down from the Escalade, only a small step. Without a doubt the Navigator is hot🔥🔥 but it just doesn't have the it factor.
I love the Escalade, but I feel the sport package takes away from it. Escalade is supposed to be big and bold and in your face, but by blacking out the chrome grille and moldings, it might as well be a Tahoe.
Fair enough! Ultimately comes down to what you want out of it, I think it's good GM offers some choice as some buyers prefer the non-chrome look. It's why their AT4 GMC's do so well despite most buyers never needing the off-road features.
LOL. The Navigator has a lot going for it, we're hoping to get a 2020 this year to see what's changed, as they've made some small refinements since we drove it back in 2018.
Last of the old style versions. Might be able to get a good deal with the 2021 models coming soon. The Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade account for 50% of all large SUV sales in the US. GM makes 340,000 of them every year and exports about 80,000 to 31 countries. They’re made in GM’s plant in Arlington, Texas, which is said to be the most profitable assembly plant in the world. We estimate they generate $20 billion in revenue for GM and about $4 billion in profits. Autoline Daily
Let's hope the next generation Escalade is still the world-class vehicle it's meant to be. I've seen photos from GM's press launch of the new Yukon, Tahoe/Suburban and it looks OK, exactly what I suspected it would based on the 2019 Sierra/Silverado we drove at the start of last year.
a little exaggerated, we've been looking at a 4th gen escalade and for mid 40's you can only get a 5 year old model with 100k+ on the odometer. Standard luxury car depreciation
They desperately need to get that redesign out. This thing has some flaws that should have never made it to production, yet alone advertising points. Also am I the only one who hates the red brakes? Gimme black brakes
I hope GM pushed the next gen back a year to fine-tune some important elements of it. That's a hope though, not something I'm confident to bet on though.
Large and in charge. I still like it, I know it is strange, but God it looks so sharp in that black.
Agreed! The black trim with the Sport Edition was a much-needed addition.

Honestly idk why im watching this because i have a 2020 escalade from masseys Cadillac but great vid

I'm really surprised the Escalade and Navigator fall flat in the second row, the Kia Telluride has more going on than either one.

Thank you! I was surprised by it also, I’m sure it’s different in other markets but here in North America the Escalade is still king.
I got a 16 CTS this year in red. I get compliments all the time.
I used your review of the 2018 to make my purchase of a 2019 Cadillac Escalade Esv crystal white tricoat. The self parking is a joke but happy with everything else. Thank you
Glad to hear it! Can't go wrong with the Escalade overall, still one of my favourite vehicles we've done on this show.
What the hell happened with the front bumper with all scratches on it

The 2020 Black Sports model really looks good!

Rarely do you see them with the bembos
No, it's pretty rare considering how expensive it is as an option!
I’d still take a Lexus LX... also I’d love to see you review it and the Hummer H1!
I've wanted to film a Hummer H1 forever now, finding them are next to impossible! There are some stellar examples out there, just making it happen is hard.
What is It’s on road price?
Depends entirely on your market, I can't answer that for you unfortunately.
In Toronto

Skip the Sport Edition and you got it!
Nice and lovely
Definitely is!
That’s so funny that u said the v was silly and that’s exactly what they did watching this in 2023
It's still a vehicle i'd love to try out, at $185,000 CAD it's bonkers.
@@PRNTestDrive totally agree, 153,000 here is insane

If the Ford was naturally aspirated like the beast cadillac ford wouldnt compete.
It's only a matter of time before GM starts downsizing their engines, they'll have to for emissions compliance.
Cool
Thanks

That Cadillac don’t have more luxury than the navigator even in dreams they need to change fast
That's what we're hoping for, the Escalade sells well because of its name, we had a chance to drive the Navigator last year and liked it.
2019: 110k
2020: 40k
That’s said it all
Maybe after a few years. You can get a mid-mileage 2018, likely used as a livery car for about $70,000 CAD right now.
