I called up a customer a few weeks ago and they themselves instinctively said "Love you!" at the end of the call! Made the rest of my day lolol
Doing the Lords work 😂😅 maximum pay, that's great.
At the last company I worked at, there once was this legendary online meeting (with a bunch of very important people), where one of the participants obviously forgot to turn their microphone off.. when everyone started to hear very.. interesting moaning sounds of someone having too much fun for a work meeting.
The really bad thing was that automated transcription was on during the meeting.
Normally, it would just be an embarrassing thing while it happened, but people would politely gloss over it, maybe not be entirely certain who it was, and it would only live on in their memories.
In this case, however, modern technology provided a very accurate transcription of all the words spoken (and sounds moaned) during the meeting, INCLUDING voice recognition, WHO said (or moaned) what.
So, the whole thing was well documented and it was absolutely impossible to sweep any of that under the rug.
This is me right now. From mistakenly generating an invoice with the wrong company name to misspelling the right company name on the second try, and even writing wrong date. Like I am just done😂😂
Thanks for sharing. FYI on the clogged toilet stories there is the "other side" where the office manager has to start cleaning it, put out the "wet floor" cones and then send an office wide email telling everyone the toilet is out of service - except sending the email to the clients too.
I was in the Navy and standing a roving watch (walk around the ship inspecting certain spaces and equipment). One of the spaces I was supposed to check had two entrances. The main one is easy to get to but was blocked off. The hatch entrance (think trapdoor) required climbing up three ladders, going down the passageway, and then climbing back down 4 more ladders into the space. I was in a hurry and skipped it instead. Two hours later, I was diving underwater to turn off the water line that had broken and slowly filled the space with water 9 feet deep over a 6 hour period.
The previous watch stander and I were written up, but that's it 😅
Some relatable, some cringy, some funny - all entertaining. I feel like I've only seen half of the story though. I need the aftermaths of these stories!
Absolutely cried laughing at some of these, especially the one about walking into the glass wall of a meeting room (does that make me a bad person???). Please share more examples.

😂 I logged in on a training room computer and didn’t realize the person before me hadn’t logged out properly until after I finished doing their online training. It was easy and fun, but had nothing to do with my current position.
I was maybe 20 and doing secretarial work for an all male employee company the summer before starting nursing school. I was sending out client statements and addressed one to A$$ Grocers instead of Associated Grocers. One of the men in the ofc caught it fortunately. Decided I was not cut out to be a secretary, needed something easier like nursing!!!
Our shop supervisor forgot the combination to his locker so he took a blow torch to cut the lock off and open it. He set the clothes inside the locker on fire. He took the burning clothes and threw them in the toilet and flushed. Toilet got clogged, bathroom got flooded and the water seeped under the wall right into the main office. This man was actually in charge of a lot of people. lol
Is this a real story??? And not a cartoon episode😬
@@Rita_Arya No, it's a true story. My boxes of computer invoices that were sitting on the floor got all wet. The only upside was at least it was just clean water. Another time we hired a female lift driver but there were only male bathrooms in the plant so they built her a ladies room. One of the guys thought he'd try to scare her, so he climbed on the roof and fell right through. She was already out. It was a fun place to work.

I fucked up a whole data for management meeting. Thanks God my boss was there for me and improved everything ❤
I also was taking a nap in a noise cancelation room. While our manager was showing them(they were newly built ) to the CEO😂😂😂😂😂😂. I was super tired at that time and needed a rest. The CEO even apologized for disturbing my rest . I could die there immediately 😂😂😂😂😂

I had to give a presentation to a group at a venue in a very hilly area and got carsick on the way. Not only did I wet myself while throwing up, the chair of a prominent local organisation was with me and kindly offered to let me swap seats. When we got to the venue we got out of the car and she exclaimed, "I'm wet!" She'd been sitting in my pee. I had to give the presentation with soaked pants. Fortunately they were black pants!
On a meeting I refused to give the hand to the client because I was lightly ill what I informed him. And at the end of the meeting I insist giving him my hand to say good bye completely forgotten that I refused it first because of illness 🤦I will never forget his stunned face
But he's a funny person and in the next meeting everything was fine between us. But his face .... Never leaving nightmare
During a team building exercise where we were asked to say something we all had in common, I said that we're all white. Cue stare and then laughter from my Asian grandboss. I caught up with her years later and mentioned how bad I still felt about it. She cackled and told me she found it hilarious. I still want to sink into a hole when I think about it. 😥😅
My camera is covered and my mic is off and in a drawer if I'm not actively using them, because I'm one of those people that Murphy's Law completely applies to. Laughable, but DON'T laugh: Years ago I worked nights unloading trucks, only female on the truck crew although there were female stockers in the building putting merchandise on the shelves. There was a coworker that was harassing me, he'd asked me out many times and I told him, "No." multiple times, just wouldn't give up his quest and he'd become a real pest and he was the one and only part of my job that I disliked. One day the guys were horse playing with a hacky sack, throwing it at each other. While on our lunch break, one of the male stockers jumped into the doorway of the break room and hurled the hacky sack as hard as he could, not aiming just throwing it and it slammed into the face of the guy that had been bothering me. While everyone was shocked and outraged on his behalf I busted up laughing, couldn't hold it back, ribs aching, stomach muscles cramping, tears rolling down my face, even now it still cracks me up! The guy had a red welt on his forehead for the rest of the shift, perfect circle where it hit. LOL!!! 😆😂🤣 Thanks Steve!!! 😉
not work related, but the amount of times i sent emails to businesses and authorities and what not, saying "attached see this and that file", hit send and the second after realized i havent attached them yet and had to write another email apologizing and adding the files 😅
and worse, I think once I even had to sent another another email xD
The fact Outlook now warns me “it looks like you meant to attach something” before sending the email is probably the only reason I am still employed.

I left my eye liner in my HOD's room.. he called me and handed it over 😂that was really embarrassing
I used a toilet that was out of order. The door to the stall was open and the sign was on the door
I met my great grand boss for the 1st time drunk at an even. I just kept telling myself to keep my mouth shut.
When I left my 2nd job I thought I made a mistake. Turned out to be the greatest move.
Another colleagues forcibly triggered the regeneration strategy on a car in the underground parking lot and triggered the fire alarm for the full building, this time the building only had 4 levels :)
I always kiss my hubby before I get out of the car when he drops me of to work. Well, the other day, my boss gave me a ride home from a company event, and I accidentally leaned in to kiss him! I was so embarrassed! I quickly said that I must have dropped something on the floor. Can you believe that? Muscle memory, I swear!😅

Ive been on meetings while in the bathroom (only if I know for certain Im not gonna be required to speak) I put the screen facing down. Otherwise if I really have to go to the toilet and I'm an active participant in a meeting I just someone is at my door or that my internet isn't working properly.
Not me but a colleague, they didn't paid attention and they put the sandwich with tinfoil in microwaves. Everything went down in smoke triggering the fire alarm for the 12 levels building.
me: (intended for a friend but actually went to my boss as i was standing outside of clients place waiting to go inside)

my boss replies: I hate when that happens
We were on a WebEx call and someone had really crappy music playing and I didn’t realise I was not muted and I said OMG who picked this horrible music?! And someone asked “who said that” and I just was too tired to lie about it so I said I did! LOL
I picked my nose on a one-on-one zoom call. I had no idea my camera was on! Why didn't my boss say anything? I wanted to dieeeeee!

In United States: yes they will arrest you @ work for non-payment of child support.
Which is idiotic. As you want the person to be able to pay.
Having the person in jail does not solve the problem on any way or form.
I got sick to my stomach on camera and mid-presenation to the directors of my organization. Somehow, I pulled it together to quickly apologize and request to reschedule.
3:00 anyone who looked either pays me 100 bucks or I go to HR :P
I was at a firm of about 100 people and the VP ask me to do something and I meant to give the thumbs up emoji but I ended up on giving the middle finger emoji.
I quickly deleted it and changed it but thankfully his response was "lol i saw that" and it never came up again
