Respect , that's some trip ! Really idiotic law not allowing motorcycles to filter, adding to queues and being at risk of being hit from behind - not good if you're on a bike 🤨
@@amv_moto that’s bad timing regarding the traffic in AZ. They just made it legal here a couple months ago. So you can filter traffic now on a motorcycle. Cool video btw!
Lanesplitting is only legal in one state. You can get a ticket. OH NO, a ticket?! I'd rather risk a ticket then cook myself for hours. Not even a hard decision tbh.
Bro as the "Florida Man" asked him why not go in between I was like, just do it. He sacrificed his own comfort to obey that law though so, credit where credit is due...or not
I enjoyed this. I ride a sportbike everyday for the last 3 years. I'm used to it and will be using my CBR600 F4i for road trips once I get her back up and running. This inspires me more to ride my bike longer and further away. Thank you for this.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah - I’m hoping I can inspire some more people to take motorcycle road trips - no matter what kind of bike you have. It’s a great time! 😎
Kudos to you for taking on that journey. I had a friend in college that used to ride his CBR 600 from his home in Wyoming all the way to Rhode Island. Being in college he would make the trip on a budget and would pitch a tent in camp areas along the way. I thought he was nuts but at the same time brave.
Wow. That sounds a little crazy but also kind of fun - pitching a tent next to your bike as you make your way cross country. Too bad I love a soft bed so much or else I might try it.
That's awesome. I had 2 friends ride their bikes one was gsxr600 and the other had a vtx1300 across country starting in Rhode island going to Washington state then down to San fran and then back to RI. They switched bikes every 500-700 miles. The 2 different riding positions helped with their fatigue tremendously
I really love your video! No wheelies, keep things legal on the street. So much knowledge as well. I was asking you about the pros and cons of getting an F3, thanks for the reply! I ended up getting a 2014 non-ABS F3 800. It is an awesome bike, I just need many adjustments since I rode 400cc before getting the F3. Got the silver engine on it, and the exhaust valve failed but other than that it is smooth as silk. Thanks for your awesome videos of F3, it gives a lot of insights into having an Mv Agusta.
Glad you enjoyed the video and happy to hear you’re enjoying your F3 and haven’t had any major problems with it! 👍I hope your good luck continues. Even with all the problems I’ve had with mine, I still love riding it. More videos on the way so stay tuned.
Amazing trip! Being owner of SFV4(no gas gauge either) I quickly learned whats my usual mileage before the low gas light and remaining mileage after the light, so I use trip1 odometer as an alternative for the gauge, as long as I dont forget to reset it after refueling 😊
For sure not having a gas gauge is so annoying. And because I just got the bike I really wasn't sure how long I could go on reserve so there were definitely a few nervous moments between gas stops. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@amv_moto one thing you can do is get one of those gas thermos that the adv guys carry and just run the bike to empty to see how much you have once the warning light comes on. Then top it off from the thermos and go to a gas station.
Awesome adventure and very candid account of your journey. Thank You. I am 63 and still ride Sport bikes. I currently ride a 2018 ZX-10R and a few months back did a trip from Tulsa to Arkansas, rode the next day for over 6 hours in the twisties and took a lot of ibuprofen that night. I will ride as long as I can throw my leg over the bike. You Sir had a lot of patience waiting at that traffic jam. I usually maneuver in and out through the traffic jam. Kudos to you for doing this on a hot bike. Looking forward to your other videos.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I 100% plan to ride sport bikes as long as I can - I’m just more comfortable on that kind of bike. Planning another cool road trip for the spring that should be good times. More videos planned in 2023 so stay tuned. 😎
Yeaah i’ve been in the same situation, riding kawasaki z800, the distance almost 600 km. Start at 6 in the morning, arrived 11 at night. Worth it, my personal achievement. Proud of myself.
Major props to you my friend! I've ridden a few Iron Butt rides, but on a large, comfortable BMW K1600 GT and they were still a challenge. As a Ducati Panigale V2 rider - (90% track) and one of those over-60 riders, I simply can't imagine doing the ride you did. (BTW, I trailered my V2 from Phoenix to Austin for the Moto GP race)
It was definitely a challenge - especially in 1.5 days - but it was a lot of fun. Already looking forward to my next Panigale road trip! So I’m definitely a bit of a masochist - obviously. 😆
Yoooooo!!!!! I felt this trip. What a freaking legend. This was so entertaining and funny. The baking to freezing sessions were hilarious. Love your cinematography and narration. 😅 Thank you for this video journey.
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a crazy trip but I had a great time. Speaking of baking - you’ll definitely want to stay tuned for the video on the return to CA. 🔥
Great video. Gotta love a long road trip👍 I wouldn’t have attempted it on an F3 either. You’re right, the V4 looks so much better without the wings👌 Looking forward to part 2………
68 yo with sportbikes, but i take my KX1000 Ninja on trips. Amazed you can do this! I'll ride sportbikes all day in mountains, but no way highway!! yoga is necessary to keep limber for sportbikes
Thanks for the video, I have a 959 and agree with you about the fuel gauge. I usually get just over a hundred miles in race mode before the light comes on. We can filter in England too . 👍
I also hate the wings on the Panigale V4, I wish they could have made it more modular so that you can remove them and the bike doesn’t look incomplete. Glad to hear your f3 is back and running. I too have a F3 but with a Panigale V2.
Agreed. I plan on having the bike repainted in a few months so I’ll have the shop fill in those spots but no regrets with taking off those wings. I think the bike looks much better without them. & fingers crossed that my bad luck with the F3 is over! 😎
Tired of watching long trips on Adventure tourer as a HyperBike owner, really glad you made this one. Thanks for taking one for the team. Hoping to see many more in the future obviously with the heated grips and cruise control !
Awesome video AMV! Such a great trip. I take that the V4 is slightly more comfortable than the F4 then. After 100 miles on my F4 I have reached my limit, my neck and my back start killing me… I am getting a Hypermotard delivered this week, hopefully I can do longer trips on it! You had a lot of patience by the way, I would have started line splitting after waiting for 5 minutes haha Looking forward to watching the journey back to California 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed the video! For sure the V4 is way more comfortable than an F4 so the trip wasn't bad at all. The ergo's of an F4 would have probably been torture. Ha! Yes, it took superhuman patience to not split lanes - I was so close! Enjoy your Hypermotard. That looks like a fun ride.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, 1/2 my viewers are outside the US so I try to remember to add metric. Yeah - I’d vote for a tank redesign to make room for a sender unit even if I had to give up a little bit of volume.
I ,too, was at the race this year. It was an awesome time. The longest I’ve ridden on two wheels is Austin to McKinney, TX. Three hours one way. That was in 2005 on a CBR1000RR. Never again! LoL!
Get on that bike and ride. Long trip Hayabusa and I love every mile on it. Amazing all around bike. Ride it all the time. First time viewer. Great content.
Cool. Yeah I’m trying to ride my bikes as much as possible - including road trips. There’s more fun in that than just letting it sit in my garage. Glad you’re enjoying the videos. Stay tuned. 😎
Husband and I took a roadtrip from LA to Denver, St Luis, Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, Phoenix and back to LA and you’re right, it took us an entire day just to drive through Texas. Never again!
Awesome trip and bike ..i bought myself a Superveloce this year and so far so good this bike comes standard with cruise control and a lot off horns and bells ....Greeeets from Belgium
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, unfortunately lots of straight highways on the way to Texas. I'm already thinking about my next road trip and I'm definitely hoping to find some better roads.
I haul ass when I travel- I have swapped out the 525 chain to a 520, and went from a 43 to a 41 rear sprocket, the weight savings on the smaller link chain is a big deal! I cruise about 130mph- The problem with anything above that is the wind noise is absolutely fatiguing!! Doesn't matter ear plugs or not... I wear an carbon fiber agv pista now and what a pleasure it is- my x14 kills my neck after 3hrs, the pista I dont have any issues with my neck cramping. The wind buffeting with other helmets distorts the visor and blurs vision when needed the most. I wear a scarf which really helps with the wind noise, I am adding a set of winglets with hopes of streaming the low speed airflow away from the back of my helmet before it gets turbulent meeting the high speed flow. I am going to experiment with some porting to the visor like the zx10-
So true about the buffeting and wind noise >100mph! I just bought myself a AGV K5 for Christmas because it's supposed to be nice and quiet. Looking forward to testing it out soon.
I’m not sure if Ducati has a trip meter on the dash, but that’s what I use for my gas gauge. Reset it when I fill up, then once I get to about 120 miles I need to be finding gas soon. Crazy respect for that long trip though!!!
Great video I have lots of sport bikes and I can not lie. 😂 Have an 899 Panigale and a Panigale V2 Bayliss and guess what... no fuel gauge 😁 Never forget to reset the trip metre when you stop for fuel. 🤣🤣😂 Hmmmm... heat shielding 😜
So true - too many cool bikes out there. 😎 Heat shielding was the first thing I ordered after the trip. You’ll find out why in the part 2 video - so stay tuned.
Thanks for the update. I actually got worried when you didn't post a video since new bike day and were about to go on the trip to Texas. But, you responded to my comment about my F3s break down and the RSV4 a few weeks ago. So, I figured you were just recovering from the LA to Austin ride. Lol Side note, I'm starting to wonder if the F4s were put together better that the F3s. Had no issues with my F4s. Thought of it when you mentioned yours has been very reliable.
Yes, it just took me forever to edit down 30 hours of footage! For sure, I'll do a quicker edit for part 2! I definitely think the F4s are more reliable than the F3s, at least according to the owners and MV mechanics I've spoken to.
I don't remember if I commented on this before, but kevlar lined pants do wonders for me on my V4S, and sometimes in addition, I wear a flexible material knee brace on my left leg, just a little lower of the left knee to help where the kevlar stops, for me, the left side gets warmer. I do live in South Fl. so it does get hot in stop and go traffic, the Lined pants make it a non-issue for me. Always a good thing to wear for protection, anyway. Sorry to see how badly you scorched you skin. Crazy Crazy!
Good advice. I’ve since added the heat shield and that’s made a noticeable difference to how much heat you feel from the bike. Another V4 viewer said he also wears an Underarmour cool layer under his pants. Gotta say that + the heat shielding has been the 1-2 punch for dealing with the V4’s insane heat on hot days. Sooo much more comfortable to ride now.😎
Lovely video ❤ i ride my 2018 cbr 1000 rr as my commuter , for canyons and highways. Ergonomically my body is acclamatized to my bikes riding triangle and ive done 30000 kms in crazy chaotic india. I just love the peace , happiness, freedom i get riding my blade and trust me it is keeping me physically fit and healthy and i have a good body form and strong core muscles. All thnks to my cbr ❤
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, that trip reminded me how much I enjoy motorcycle road trips. Already trying to figure out when I can take my next one. More videos coming soon so stay tuned.
I can never do a trip on the 848evo. Sure it's a 4.1G tank, but the low level light comes on at exactly 3 gallon used and exactly 100 miles traveled. That tells me I can only go 100 miles between top-offs. If I don't, I have 30 miles to go dry on that last gallon and I could NEVER leave a duck on the side of the road. Furthest I've gone is San Diego to the grapevine area above LA but there's all sorts of gas stations.
Yes, the V4 tank isn’t much bigger 4.5G so I was able to do able to do 120 miles before the fuel light came on. The key to these trips is to plan your fuel stops in advance or else you WILL run out of gas in the middle of nowhere.
I was going to tell you what bike you should have used for that trip (BMW R1200RT) but I decided against that. Mad respect for powering through. That's an awesome bike and I hope you get to put many many miles on her. Stay safe
Glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah I only take about one road-trip a year so it’s not really worth it to get a touring bike that just sits unused the rest of the year. So I’ll take the challenge of doing it on a sportbike! 🤣 It’s not too bad since I normally ride one 5 days/week so I’m used to it. Currently editing a V4 road-trip to Canada video so stay tuned. 😎
I just picked up a 2020 V4S and the heat does not bother me at all, in fact I hardly even feel it. I think it might be the riding pants I wear. I know for the 2022 models they added extra cooling vents and such to make it less hot but I have absolutely no issue with mine and don't understand what all the fuss is about when people talk about these bikes being unridable because of the heat.
Glad to hear you're not feeling the heat! Yes, it think it has to do with what pants you wear, how long of a stint you're riding and the ambient temp you're riding in. Funny story - riding through near 100F heat in Texas - coming up in part 2. Enjoy your ride!
I've driven from LA to Vancouver BC on a sport bike. I averaged about 650 miles daily and at about the end of the second day, my butt was sore. Nothing like waking up on the third day and looking at that seat. I always took Hwy 1 along the coast to get there, but the return trip is through the Dakotas. It's not too bad if you have time to stop and see the sights, but when you are on a timetable, it's tough. And it's always funny to be driving through Idaho or Montana and come across a group of about 10 Goldwings cruising along. Big bags, trailers, helmet intercoms, etc. Next time ensure you bring your heated vest with you. It makes all the difference.
Too funny. Thinking about heading up to BC for my next big trip. I want to take my time though so I don’t kill myself and have numb-butt for a week afterwards. 🤣
I went just a bit over 800 miles in 2 days on my v4s…I was broken. The ride home…well was a struggle to say the least. I did find a great chiropractor on a plus!
Ha! I understand. "Comfort" is subjective for sure. I didn't think it was bad at all but I can definitely see how other riders would be pretty wrecked by that kind of road trip. This is just Ducati's way of getting you to buy a Multistrada!
@@amv_moto you might have a point! But in my head I’m 20, this old 55 year old body has serious hard miles on it. I think my body is winning the argument 🙄
Solid trip! Even though the majority was probably miserable, you will always look back and remember it. There was a guy years back who rode around the US for a very long time on an 1199. Then he shipped it out of the country, and piled on even more. I forget how many miles he ended up doing but it was insane. All on an 1199 and a backpack 😂 He recently passed. Rip
Love them, hate them... the wings do provide some stability at higher speeds. Had my bike 2 years now and love it just as much as the day I picked it up.
I've gone as far as; from Florida (Panhandle) to San Antonio and New Mexico on a sport bike (Busa). Also from Florida to Sturgis but on a Goldwing. Road trips are fun with a friend or two. Have not traveled by myself that far on a bike.
Those sound like some great trips. 👍 Trips with friends are fun but I also like taking solo road trips - having the flexibility to start, stop and detour whenever you want. 😎
Very informative video. Thanks a lot for it. 2 questions to you 1. What kind of mobile navigation do you use? It looks sometimes like real view pictures. Maybe I’m wrong. Just interested it. 2. How do you choose your rest stops and what are your favorite places to take the night? Have you booked them before or is there no problem to find something ? I’m not from Europe and plan some trips through the USA with the car. That’s the reason I’m asking.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I use Waze for my navigation - which is popular in the US. It easily plots out gas stops on the way. I usually choose my stops based on how far the V4 will go on a tank of gas. Going 90-100 mph, I’ll be able to go about 120 miles before refueling. As far as hotels, I use the hotels dot com app. I’ll usually book a room right before I get there. I’ll have a goal for the day and as I near my destination, I’ll book the hotel with my phone. But if I think I’ll fall short of my goal I’ll choose a closer hotel. There are usually plenty of choices of hotels around. That way I don’t have to worry about cancelling reservations. That app also lets you check out reviews of how nice the hotels are. Hopefully that helps. Enjoy your upcoming road-trip! 😎
The furthest i have done is Baytown, TX to Bertram, TX on my Ducati 848. The great thing about the sport bikes they throw a ;ot of engine heat on your legs in cold weather. In the houston area its unbearable sitting in traffic on the 848 during a summer day. I went to the race too but I took my car and little niece. Planning a Baytown to New Orleans on my 20 Ducati Cafe Racer next week for The Smile concert
Sounds like a cool trip to New Orleans. Yes, my next trip will probably be up north and I think the heat from the V4 will be nice to have then. But riding that bike in 100F Texas heat!? Well, I talk about that in the next video…
Glad you enjoyed the video! For recording I actually had my GoPro connected to a slim battery bank in my jacket. That got me through a full day of riding and I didn’t have to worry about the camera dying.
This video is awesome!! Hey wanted to give you this tip, my Speciale gets about 120MPG to a tank, so when I refill my tank I reset the miles for trip 1 and keep a gauge. Now, every every bike is different and if you have an exhaust affects but maybe it will help.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. Quick race-day video going up shortly and hope to have the return trip edited in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!
Fellow SoCal rider! Just picked up 23 Panigale V2 Bayliss and also have a 2019 Harley FXDR Thunderbike Custom. Ill wave like a little kid so you'll know its me. LOL
Cool video, nicely done. Good enhancement to have the footage with the narration of what you were going through. My son and I have been debating doing this on sport bikes - I have a 21 V4 myself which amazingly, I've felt comfortable on for 8 hour rides but really wished for the cruise control after hour 4. Being from Tucson area, it would only be 1K miles - I did get the heated grips added though - SO worth it 😀
Glad you enjoyed the video! You should definitely make the trip, especially since you can already do a long V4 ride without any problems. You'll have a great time!
Seen a video of a guy that did a lap of Australia on an R1, that's minimum 9200miles, he did an extra lil bit and detours so at least 10,000miles, I cannot imagine how, guy must be made of steel.
This is great. I kinda want to ride my Panigale V2 from Indiana to Texas but don't have any motorcycle road trip experience other than a 250 mile trip on a ktm 390 duke. It's cool to see somebody do a long trip on a Panigale. What did you do for luggage? Did you have a backpack or tail bag or something? Did you hit any rain?
Do it! Motorcycle road trips are awesome. I packed everything into a backpack. Planning to do a video of what I packed since a few people have asked. I never really liked riding with bags on the bike. I checked the forecast beforehand and luckily it was clear so I chanced it and didn't pack any rain gear. My next road trip might be up North so I might have to pack some rain gear for that. Good luck if you decide to road trip!
Nice adventure! I went to the MotoGP race in Austin last year, not riding my bike though as I´m just a little too far away from Austin, I live in Massachusetts. The race was just amazing by the way, last dance for The Doctor, Valentino Rossi, here in the U.S. I own a 2021 GSX-R1000R 100th Anniversary Edition because I just love sport bikes, I can´t ride any other type of bike, I just don´t like the feeling nor the looks...no offense. I ride my bike all week long, weather permitting. I´ve been riding sportbikes since I was like 15, I´m 45 now and I plan to ride´em until physically possible. ✊🏍💨
Yeah - I plan to be riding sportbikes until I’m a senior citizen. 😎 Ha! I really wanted to see Rossi’s last US race but I couldn’t swing the time off work unfortunately. I’m sure that was a great weekend to be at COTA!
It's crazy how big the country is. Here in Switzerland it takes about 450km to travel through the whole country (from Graubünden to Geneva). Nice vlog :D
This was nice to watch... love it. funny the only reason why i want a ducati well its a ducati and those wings they look great to me LOL but they do look clean without.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I would have loved an 8 gallon tank! That trip on a GS would be a breeze. You should definitely do it. Motorcycle road trips are awesome!
Sept 2022!! Arizona will become the fourth state to allow motorcycle lane filtering in some situations. Lane filtering or lane sharing is when motorcycle riders are allowed to pass between your car and the one next to you. The law doesn’t give bikers the ability to ride in between traffic on the highways. It’s only legal on surface streets where the speed limit is 45 miles per hour or less. They can only pass stopped vehicles, and the motorcycle cannot go faster than 15 mph. There also needs to be at least two lanes of traffic going in the same direction.
Good update. Thanks! I'd heard that AZ was going to change their law this year. Too bad AZ riders won't be able to (legally) split on the highways though. Getting stuck in an summer traffic jam is brutal.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, it’s sad that once you leave California, it’s illegal to lane split. Hopefully more states change their laws in the future.
@@amv_moto no way... 7k miles! I will give them a try next. (Stay away from the bridgestone rs10s they are BAD) but looking forward to your updates. I have a agv k1 that is better then most the others I've tried... I haven't tried aria or Schuberth- that is easier to say that way.
I tour on 2018 gsxr1000r that I tour regularly. Just clicked 30k miles! Reno to Phoenix I ride reno to Vegas few times a year. It's not bad if I didnt have to stop every 100miles for fuel- every 45 minutes
Nice! But you're right - you forget how much more you have to stop on a bike road trip just to refuel. At least it gives you a chance to stretch your legs. I'm hoping to take more road trips with the V4 in the new year.
@@amv_motohow much fuel does the v4 hold? My zuke holds 4.3gallons and it is very mindful on the guage! It will reach last bar... with almost a whole gallon still in the tank! Been kinda nervous crossing the nevada desert in places.... where it's 100miles between filling.
Panigale ignite? Funny you mention that. You might want to watch the return trip video. 14 hrs straight with a 100mph average? I like the way you think. I'd definitely pay to watch that video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, I have a few mods planned so I’ll be starting a mod series soon. I’m finishing editing a bunch of videos over the next few weeks so stay tuned. 😎
Yep the wings look so bad and ruins the look. I l8oe the look of the 2019 for that reason. Does ducati make covers to blank off the holes in fairings where the wings were?
Yes hate the wings. They lasted less than 24 hours after I picked up the bike. Ducati does make color-matched blank off covers if you decide to take off the wings. I’m actually planning to have the bike resprayed in the spring so I’ll have the body shop fill in the holes before they paint it.
Thanks! Yes, I think the RSV4 is the best sounding bike out there so I thought about it. But I’ve heard from a few owners that Aprilia parts/service can be spotty and I just didn’t want deal with that after all my problems dealing with MV Agusta over the F3.
Hey man.... just a heads up. I just picked up a Ducati HyperMotard 950SP (with full race Termi and tune) and I'm riding her from San Francisco to Montreal for F1. Then to Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Then loop down to the south and back to California. Maybe I'll do a vid? Tips? I'm also 60. Haha!
Sounds awesome! I would love to do that kind of trip if I could get the time off work. F1 in Montreal would be epic! Planning my next trip for the summer up the coast to BC. I’m about to post my next video about what I packed for my trip which you might find helpful. Definitely document the trip. You won’t regret it. I’m jealous.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Couldn’t make it out to Austin MotoGP this year because of work but I have another cool road trip planned for the end of summer so stay tuned. 😎
Mad respect to you making this trip on that gorgeous V4. As nice as Ducati’s are, that is one thing I do not understand for the life of me, is the fact it doesn’t have cruise control, or gas gauge. Im curious, the other bike you we’re considering has all the feature comforts that you mentioned would of aided you on this trip. What made you pull the trigger on the V4, and if you could do it again, would you have made the same choice? Again salute to you on this trip, and appreciate you sharing the experience.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Ducati won't include cruise control because they're stubborn. The dealer told me Ducati said they'll never include cruise control because they want their superbikes to be focused track machines and that's not something riders need for the track. Lame. The gas gauge thing is a complete mystery though. I heard someone say that they'd have to completely redesign the fuel tank to accommodate a sender unit with a fuel indicator and that would significantly cut the fuel capacity. Deciding between the V4, S1000 & CBR1000 rr-r was tough. Nixed the Honda because I think it's too expensive for what you get, although if all those bikes cost the same I probably would have got that one. Between the V4 & S1000, I think the S1000 is the better all-around bike (gas gauge/cruise control/on dash navigation) but truth is I'm a racing nerd and the fact that the Panigale V4 is basically a street version of their MotoGP engine swayed me to get that one. More videos coming so stay tuned!
@@amv_moto Thanks for the clarity, that actually makes perfect sense. It’s pretty dope you rode a race bike basically 1300 miles lol. Again salute to you good brutha. Stay safe and look forward to future videos.
Happy your ducati wasn't stolen. I would be scared as hell to park that outside a hotel at night. Floor one, take a shower and then come out and pull it in the room after it cools.
Yeah I tried not to worry about it too much. I actually thought about bringing it into my motel room but I had it covered, two locks, one alarm and an AirTag on the bike. All those things let me get a good nights sleep. 😴
@@amv_moto just watched your Ducati Panigale V4 road trip video. Good stuff. The cover is also smart since you have a bright red super bike XD. Thanks for that video. I own a 2023 Suzuki GSX-S1000GT and bought it 3 month ago with 2 miles and I will have 7000 miles on it tomorrow at some point. So I travel a bit myself as well. I am going to get the stuff you included on your trip and then replace the airtag with the samsung smart tag or tilepro since i do not have iphone.
And I also use a cover to reduce attention and weather overnights. But so far it feels like the cover(it's a soft) just rubs the whole damn night against it with the wind. Kind of a pet peeve can't wait to get it back and indoors forever 😂

That’s some hardcore touring!!! Awesome video though. Thoroughly enjoyed!!! As a biker myself, I felt your pain!
You are one crazy man!!! Well done!!!
😆 Thanks! Actually planning an even crazier V4 road trip next month. 😎
I envy you. Im a lone rider too most of the time. I enjoy making decisions for myself.
Yes, a really enjoy those solo trips!
My Panigales are both dedicated track bikes. I couldn't imagine riding them daily. Their natural habitat is the track.... But much respect to you!
#sportbikedailylife . Yeah - I've been riding sportbikes every day for so long it feels odd to ride anything else. Ha!
Really great sir ❤
Yeaah i’ve been in the same situation, riding kawasaki z800, the distance almost 600 km. Start at 6 in the morning, arrived 11 at night. Worth it, my personal achievement. Proud of myself.
Cool! Yeah motorcycle road trips are awesome. I advise all riders to take at least one. It’s a great adventure! 👍
@@amv_moto Thought of getting a throttle lock at all?
Yoooooo!!!!! I felt this trip. What a freaking legend. This was so entertaining and funny. The baking to freezing sessions were hilarious. Love your cinematography and narration. 😅
Thank you for this video journey.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Started the edit for part 2 today. Definitely will have that one done quicker so stay tuned.
Glad you enjoyed the video. No idea why Ducati refuses to put a gas gauge on these bikes. 🙄 It’d be so helpful.
Mad respect to you for doing such long distance in a super sport bike. Keep it up..
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned for more.
Tired of watching long trips on Adventure tourer as a HyperBike owner, really glad you made this one. Thanks for taking one for the team. Hoping to see many more in the future obviously with the heated grips and cruise control !
Glad you enjoyed the video! 👍I’ve gotten a couple of V4 trips planned for the summer so stay tuned. 😎
I've been looking forward to watching this! Was a good time! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is so cool man. Exactly what I wanted to see and well done for doing it, great adventure.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
You had a lot of patience by the way, I would have started line splitting after waiting for 5 minutes haha
Looking forward to watching the journey back to California 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed the video! For sure the V4 is way more comfortable than an F4 so the trip wasn't bad at all. The ergo's of an F4 would have probably been torture. Ha! Yes, it took superhuman patience to not split lanes - I was so close! Enjoy your Hypermotard. That looks like a fun ride.
Thanks for the metric. U made it very interesting. The fuel tank go's under the seat, no room for a sender unit to work a gauge.
LoL!
Glad you had a good time at the race this year. Yeah, sportbike road trips can be a “challenge”. Ha!
Gotta Respect a man for not lane splitting!
Stay tuned. 😎
enjoyed your tour on a sport bike. Have done a couple on my V2. But the distance you did! Amazing.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I have another big trip on the V4 planned for the end of next month so stay tuned. 😎
Husband and I took a roadtrip from LA to Denver, St Luis, Memphis, New Orleans, Houston, Phoenix and back to LA and you’re right, it took us an entire day just to drive through Texas. Never again!
Yeah that drive across Texas never ends! Definitely. Would. Not. Recommend! 🤣
Awesome trip and bike ..i bought myself a Superveloce this year and so far so good this bike comes standard with cruise control and a lot off horns and bells ....Greeeets from Belgium
Beautiful bike and I'm glad you've had good luck with it so far. I'm hoping that my good luck continues with my F3!
Much respect to you. I ride a GSXR 750 from Oceanside to Long Beach every day and my back is dead at the end of the week.
Ouch. Yeah I’m glad I have a healthy back so these long trips aren’t too bad. Hopefully it stays that way because I enjoy these trips.🤞
Great vid! And riding to MotoGP even greater! Brilliant mate!
Glad you enjoyed the video. It was a great trip and I’m already thinking about the next one!
Great video AMV, an epic journey for sure. Hope you got to ride some corners on the way back... I couldn't stand all that highway!
I cruise about 130mph-
The problem with anything above that is the wind noise is absolutely fatiguing!!
Awesome..!! I’m also feeling more comfortable on a sport bike even on a long ride..😄
The people landing space probes on asteroids and the people building Ducati's, definitely not the same people m8 😂👍
🤣So true!
I’m not sure if Ducati has a trip meter on the dash, but that’s what I use for my gas gauge. Reset it when I fill up, then once I get to about 120 miles I need to be finding gas soon. Crazy respect for that long trip though!!!
Hey man, was waiting for your second video. I'm picking up the exact bike but a 2023 year date in just over a month. Keen for more. cheers from aus
More videos coming up. Enjoy your new V4! I'm sure you'll love it!
Great video
I have lots of sport bikes and I can not lie. 😂
Have an 899 Panigale and a Panigale V2 Bayliss and guess what... no fuel gauge 😁
Never forget to reset the trip metre when you stop for fuel. 🤣🤣😂
Hmmmm... heat shielding 😜
Lol
Side note, I'm starting to wonder if the F4s were put together better that the F3s.
Loved it! Nice work and beautiful bike! Congratulations!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
Superb video. A dream for me, Sport bike, long ride. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.🙏👌❤️
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, that trip reminded me how much I enjoy motorcycle road trips. Already trying to figure out when I can take my next one. More videos coming soon so stay tuned.
@@amv_moto😊 looking forward to it. Ride safe. Love your humor side. 😁👌
thanks. epic shots~ AMV.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Love from India ❤❤❤ great ride mate cheers ride more on your Ducati and congratulations for the beauty mate
Thanks! It’s a pretty sweet ride so far. 😎
I don't comment on videos, but this was too awesome. Keep at it!
Thanks! More videos on the way. Glad you enjoyed this one!
Next time Stop in Las Vegas and trailer your bike with us. We trailer the bikes to Austin to MOTOGP
Yes, shipping your bike is a great option for riders that don't want to make the trip out.
Enjoy your ride!
wow thank you for sharing your journey. that's a tough ride even in a car, on a bike it's gotta be pretty nuts.. haha
Ha! Yeah, it had a few rough moments but I had a great time. Already thinking about my next V4 road trip.
Just watched here in the UK. Well done. I did Tijuana to Vegas on GSXR750 two up a few years ago, that was bad enough.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, that heat was no joke. The next road trip will definitely be somewhere cooler!
All on an 1199 and a backpack 😂
He recently passed. Rip
Yes it was mostly great with only a few moments of misery. Already looking forward to the next roadtrip! 😎
2 questions to you
Awesome video!
Did not get bored at all💯
What did you use for recording?
I'm guessing you had spare batteries.
Awesome video! Can't wait to see the next!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. Quick race-day video going up shortly and hope to have the return trip edited in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!
Thanks for saying the wings look terrible. I thought I was the only one. Maybe on a V4R, maybe. For everything else Ducati makes though, no point.
Definitely not a fan of the wings. Picked the bike up Saturday afternoon. Woke up Sunday morning and took them off. Ha!
You man must show how you look to make sure you're not a robot! :))
AI is taking over. I’ll have it insert my face in future videos. 😆
Fellow SoCal rider! Just picked up 23 Panigale V2 Bayliss and also have a 2019 Harley FXDR Thunderbike Custom. Ill wave like a little kid so you'll know its me. LOL
Congrats! I love the Bayliss edition. Enjoy! 👍
Wowwww, 101 view? This is awesome content, loved the video :)
Also love the details when you presented the temperature in celsius on screen
Glad you enjoyed the video. 👍
Yes, 1/2 my viewers are outside the US so hopefully this helps.
Thank you for putting metric units, lots of other American UA-camrs don't, and I end up converting the numbers myself.
Yes, 1/2 my viewers are non-US so I try to remember to add metric. 👍
Wow. That is intense! I can’t imagine a trip like that on an R1. Incredible.
You're crazy for doing this bro! but, that was pretty impressive 👏👏
Ha! I guess I like a challenge! 🤣
I always use my sportbike for long ng trips. If im tired I'd stop on stores get some drinks and rest for 30mins.
A road trip on a sportbike is really not that bad especially if you’re used to riding one regularly. 😎
Bro got heatstroke and frostbite in the same ride. America is wild
Ha! Yeah that was definitely a wild day. Won’t be forgetting that anytime soon.
Great video, epic trip!! 😅The lane splitting thing would be a deal breaker for me ever moving to America.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, It would be nice if lane splitting was legal in all 50 states and not just California! Maybe one day. 😎
Wow. Great work on the video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. 👍
It's crazy how big the country is. Here in Switzerland it takes about 450km to travel through the whole country (from Graubünden to Geneva). Nice vlog :D
😆 Yes, it’s hard to show how big a trip even 1/2 way across the US is. It takes a while. Glad you enjoyed the video!
This was nice to watch... love it. funny the only reason why i want a ducati well its a ducati and those wings they look great to me LOL but they do look clean without.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, wings are definitely polarizing - you either love ‘em or you don’t. The V4 is a cool bike either way though. 😎
AWESOME RIDE AND VIDEO. SINCE I HAVE BMW R1250 GSA WITH 8GALLON MAY BE I SHOULD TRY NEXT MOTO GP EVENT
Glad you enjoyed the video. I would have loved an 8 gallon tank! That trip on a GS would be a breeze. You should definitely do it. Motorcycle road trips are awesome!
I met a guy at the ducati dealer in Manhattan last weekend, he was 70 and was telling me about how he still rides his Panigale.
That’s gonna be me one day! 😆
You’re an abolishes mad lad I have a s1000rr and I daily ride in LA to, BUT I would never ride that far! We should go riding some time!
Ha! Yeah - motorcycle road trips are something else. Definitely had a great time though. 😎
you can use the trip guage to monitor your gas
Getting stuck in an summer traffic jam is brutal.
a very nice watch mate. It's sad you can't lane split given the gaps looked good for a car.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, it’s sad that once you leave California, it’s illegal to lane split. Hopefully more states change their laws in the future.
I use michelin power5s for road tripping, as I get 5k miles out of them compared to 2k miles on the Q4 or power cup....
Cool. I've actually been surprised how much life the Supercorsa SP's still have. Think I'll be able to get 7-8k miles out of them.
@@amv_moto I carry 2 small aluminum fuel bottles (almost a gallon) when I make the big stretches of nothing.
Unreal patience you have and the ducati didnt ignite wow I honestly would have turned that trip into 14 hrs stopping for fuel only
Panigale ignite? Funny you mention that. You might want to watch the return trip video. 14 hrs straight with a 100mph average? I like the way you think. I'd definitely pay to watch that video.
Wow ! Epic trip ! Would you consider doing some mods on the V4 ? Can't wait for the return video :)
@@amv_moto buy another set a fairings and paint...
Keep the originals for resale
Very cool man!!! Did you consider an Aprilia RSV4 ?? If yes, what killed that idea..
I would go ahead and lane split. They weren't around. If they were, they weren't looking at you.
Totally enjoy that that’s coming from another Ducati. Rider that only ride super bikes I’m 67
Glad you enjoyed the video! I 100% plan to ride sport bikes as long as I can so I've got many more adventures planned in my motorcycle life!
Respect indeed! A trip that long is challenging on any bike. Kudos and I hope you're coming to the race this year. Ducati Island?
I flew in and got an 1199 panigale S In TX last week. Tomorrow starting the trip back to MD. Couldn't be more excited lmao 😁. Great video man
And I also use a cover to reduce attention and weather overnights. But so far it feels like the cover(it's a soft) just rubs the whole damn night against it with the wind. Kind of a pet peeve can't wait to get it back and indoors forever 😂

Awesome video, you should do more road trips with your sport bikes.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I’m working on the edits of 2 trips I took in 2023 so stay tuned. 😎
