    Amazing video! Maybe I missed it, but did you have any luggage or wear a backpack? I just did an 1,100 mile road trip on my street triple and I learned a few lessons too. Honestly, I didn’t realize how close I was to heat exhaustion until I stopped and bought a cold drink with ice. A man told me, “Hot day for a ride.” It kind of pissed me off and I kept riding.

    DONT BUY ANY MV AGUSTA!! Sprag clutch, stator and bearing are junk and go out every 2yrs. And the fuel tanks are plastic crap! Even with no-ethanol race fuel they expand and contract, causing the paint to crack, deformation and fuel leaking. Every 2yrs these are gonna cost you about $5000 USD to fix!

    What did you do about your engine oil change? After break-in miles, you rode close to 3k miles without changing engine oil? what's the manufacturer's recommended engine oil change interval. The oil change interval for V4’s is 7500 miles (12000 km) so all I did was check my oil level occasionally to make sure I didn’t need to add any - I didn’t. Have a good trip with your HP4 - that sounds awesome! 😎

    i wanted to know because im getting a v4 like yours ( with a remap full exhaust and a filter) hows the actual mpg. basically how many miles is within a tank. because i will go and bring ti home 500km away , if i go legal speed 60-80 mph how many miles should i see before the light comes on? and how the reserve light milage? 10-20? thanks

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto 18 днів тому

      Riding 60-80mph on the highway, I think I'd get about 120-130 miles before the light comes on - if the bike is set to "Street" mode not "Sport" or "Race" mode. When I take my road trips I'm usually going 80-100mph and the light comes on at about 110-120 miles. The longest I've gone on the highway after the fuel light came on is 30 miles - reducing my speed to 55-60mph to save gas (and getting into a full tuck LOL) - before I got to the next gas station. I was sweating at the end because I don't think I could have gone much further! But if your bike has a full exhaust and remap, chances are you'll get a little less range from a full tank. Congrats on the bike - you'll love it!

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto 18 днів тому

      Glad you enjoyed the video! I didn't consider a ZX10r because I honestly think Kawasaki (like Suzuki) are not really invested in improving their sportbikes like Ducati, BMW, Yamaha & Honda are. For example, they're pulling out of WSBK next year - like Suzuki pulled out a few yews ago. Since that is the platform manufacturers use to improve their superbikes, this tells me they plan to put less & less resources into those bikes in the future. Ultimately, I wanted a cutting-edge superbike and I just think they're a few steps behind Ducati & BMW.

    Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 Excellent channel. Will share! You deserve more subs. I plan on picking up a Pani v4 OR an SFV4 in grey/nero this December. Can’t decide which. Both sexy AF to me. I’m in Ireland as I said ,so ,heat won’t be a huge issue , but, I’ll buy the heat shield regardless. Just unsure of the ergonomics tbh. Both feel comfortable on test drives, but, it’s really not enough time with them. Have you tried both? Given your experience with the Pani, knowing what you know now, would you have picked the naked version (Sfv4?)

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto Місяць тому

      Love Ireland! Took a trip to Dublin & Galway when I went to the British MotoGP round a few years ago. Had a great time. Re: the Ducati. I’m very much a racing fan so it had to be the Panigale for me although people I know with the SF love it as well. It runs a little cooler because it doesn’t have the fairings trapping in the heat. And it is a little more comfortable because it has bars instead of clip-on’s so you’re sitting more uptight. But I don’t think the riding position of the Panigale is all that extreme. Anyone who says it is, I tell them to hop on an F4 and then get back to me. THAT is extreme. I’m on my Panigale 5-6 days/week and take it on a road trip once/year. No issues. My only regret is not getting that heat shield installed sooner. 🤣 They run HOT - especially in the summer, but that’ll be less of an issue for you in Ireland. I also think it depends on the kind of riding you do. I’m on a highway probably 50% of the time & do road trips so I need a windscreen for those higher speeds. I had a Thruxton & always felt beat up by the wind after I took that on the freeway. But if you’re mostly just riding around at city speeds, you’ll be fine with the SF. Hopefully that helps but I don’t think you can go wrong with either. Glad you enjoy the channel. More videos coming up so stay tuned. 👍

      @@amv_moto brill. Great response. Yeah ,Ireland’s a gem. We like to complain a lot but we’ve very little to worry about 😂 My plan is to do a few more test rides. • @markholmes5695
      @markholmes5695 Місяць тому

      Since fitting the heat shield do you think a long trip, maybe not as insane as the last 2 parter you did, be achievable without stuffing towels down your pants? 😂

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto 18 днів тому

      For sure. The heat shield will take the heat down from a 10 to a 7/8. It's a noticeable improvement that will let you go for a long trip on a hot day without worrying about getting burned. I also rode with a pair of Underarmour heat gear leggings under my Dainese pants and I felt no heat on my trip up to Laguna Seca. That's a great combo to beat the heat.

    • @markholmes5695
      @markholmes5695 18 днів тому

      Ended up ordering the SFV4s in grey Nero. For me it made more sense. The heat was annoying on the Pani and I know the riding position with annoy me on longer days. The SF pipped it for me in the looks department too. Especially grey Nero.

    • @amv_moto
      @amv_moto 18 днів тому

      I'm planning a base vs. v4 video soon. But basically I wasn't a fan of the things that make a V4s different. I talked to a few V4s owners and they said the electronic suspension was a gimmick. I'm not a huge fan of the look of the wheels. And I prefer the base V4 paint scheme. So basically the lithium battery is the only thing I'd want from the V4s and obviously I can just get one of those aftermarket. So the difference in price is ~ $7k. You could do a lot of cool mods for that money and have a really unique bike. That's the route I decided to go. I think all my mods will end up being close to that in total.

Both videos were really great to watch. I will leave you saying you are a true trooper glad you made it home safe to ride another day. God bless buddy.

      Glad you enjoyed the videos! Yeah, been riding for years - never had a bike that ran so hot it gave me heat blisters! That was a wild trip - I definitely won’t be forgetting that one anytime soon! 🤣More videos coming up so stay tuned! 😎

    Awesome video bro. Can you please answer my question since you are absolutely the best person to ask from. I need to go back and forth from LA to SF every week (because of my job). Would you say it is possible to do it on a bike? Financially I can afford any bike but I simply just love the ZX-10R. Would you say what I want is doable? I can't afford being beaten up after the ride since I have to work. Thanks

      Glad you enjoyed the video! The ZX-10R is an awesome bike - great choice. And it has cruise control which you will REALLY appreciate for long rides! I’ve been back and forth from LA to SF a few times on a sportbike. It’s really not a bad ride. Definitely doable. I’d say after a couple of hours off the bike I’m back to 100% - after a good stretch - and my hands stop buzzing by then. What I might worry about is the drizzly Bay area weather - you’re definitely going to get more wet than riding in LA. I got rained on the last two times I was up there. You may not mind but I hate riding in the wet. Good luck!👍

    Hmmmmm. I just bought a 24 SFV4S and it has this tag holder on it and a clear tail light with integrated signals. I assumed the light and signals were integrated from factory but now I wonder. Can’t find it on the evo website.

      @amv_moto 2 місяці тому

      Yeah that’s for sure aftermarket. Ducati definitely doesn’t ship them out that way. I know there’s actually at least one other company out there who makes an integrated signal like the V4evo model. You scored a nice upgrade. 😎

    Bro I've been going through hell with bikes out of state , and a dual sport I bought in california that had been registered offroad only, now they want a stupid light inspection . Had another bike out of state with no federal label, has to go to chp. ... for all the stupid crap I've dealt with I should have just built a bike from scratch since I have to do this stuff anyways. . I've bought stuff out of state and had no issues, but obviously it met the requirements that I didn't understand at the time. So I talked to dmv inspector about building a bike, and he said he would probably have to send to chp because he wouldn't know if this stolen ect. I'm like, but the paperwork requires bills of sales ect, for every item, I'll have all that proof. And then I asked about the carb stuff on custom built. Same thing. Basically when dmv employees don't know they just pass the buck. I've been screwed several times now. Easier and best to buy bike in state that is on file with dmv. If you don't have all labels and emissions item's there you are boned. Dmv employee doesn't want to deal with you, doesn't even give you chance to fix it, it's off to chp . Most people won't even realize any of this. So many rules and laws people have no clue. Heck dmv employees don't know most of these things, they read same stuff we read online and try and decipher there obligations they have to make you do. You're lucky my friend.

      Wow. You’ve definitely been through a lot! Yeah for California I tell people to not even bother with trying to buy a bike out of state. It’s such a hassle - it’s usually not worth it! That’ll probably be the last time I do that. 🤣
