    Bravo Amy! You did an awesome job on your first attempt and the colour choice is perfect. I can't get over how beautiful little Juliette is...she's so aware of the camera now! As Clement would say "What a "tiful" family!!!

    Juliette is such a beautiful baby.The kids are growing so fast! The air quality device is a wonderful ides. The potager is really interesting. Love Juliette's vocalizing. Amy,you made a really interesting point about how we sometimes put more value on old things than the people who built them.They've become treasures to us. Well done Amy!! The potager looks beautiful! The room looks amazing! Love from Vermont

    It's absolutely beautiful, Amy. You did a first-rate job! I enjoyed hearing you talk about your archeological work too, and your natural attention to detail (and enjoyment of it) really helps in restoration work like this. The color! It ended up being perfect! Very nice. That was so fun to watch, and also to imagine the simple cooking work that happened in that space, so long ago. What would the resident think, if he could see your loving devotion to his kitchen, now?

    I so wish I could volunteer to help you. In my past life I would have camped out and helped in any way possible and I sincerely mean this.
    Sadly my days of doing most anything are over. I Renovated 3 houses in my past…but never anything as big and Awesome as your amazing Chateau and other buildings.
    The Coach House is going to be breathtaking.. it already is.
    You both are so very talented and should be very proud of yourselves. I so wish you would have more help. I shall continue to hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
    You are so wonderfully sweet to realize that children need love and attention and more love… you both are a beautiful example of what parenting is all about. LOVE!💕
    I think little Juliette loves hearing her voice reverberate as she is busily assisting you! 😊She is Precious…as is Clement 🩷🩵🌟🙏‼️

    Great job, Amy. I was uncertain about the "tabac" brown but you were right. It did indeed lighten as it dried. For the wall, get a big, wide spackle knife or trowel. That should help. So wonderful to see y'all again. And the kids are getting so very personable and beautiful.

    That first attempt at plastering with gluey "stuff" was great Amy, really does have an adobe type finish which complements the stone. Now you have the skill you need to find the board !!! Try to make it a little easier for yourself when you are working at a height. So lovely that your sweet Clement & Juliette are involved at every stage as their assistance is imbued into the fabric of the restoration too. Gives you energy to keep going. Take care. Hugs & bisous .🤗🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘😘

    hoovering everything (including spiders) sucks up the dust ... love the plaster. It might be worth making your own putty for lime plaster if you are planning to use a lot? A bag of Chaux is quite cheap and all it needs is soaking in water for three months to 'fatten' then mixed 1 part putty with 3 parts sharp sand. I use lime for painting exteriors and any left I leave in a bucket with a layer of water on top with a lid to sit and use for pointing. You can also use the putty for filling holes and add a bit of chopped hair to give a bit more structure. For the paint I just mix until like a double cream; wet the wall and slosh it on. Three or four coats with a top coat with a slosh of linseed oil in. Will stand up to the most dreadful weather. For a 'milk' paint just add a tin of dried milk to the mix. Then pigments if you want colour.

    • @Chroniclesofrosieres
      @Chroniclesofrosieres  2 роки тому +1

      We do make up our own lime plaster most of the time but this was a particular type that's mixed with glue and we can use on plasterboard. Have a look at our previous video if you want to know more about it!
