As somebody who lived in the Rural North East US. Its not often you see a School Bus randomly parked on private properties. But it happens, as when they are decommissioned from the fleet they can be bought at public auctions for stupidly cheap. So they often become peoples Storage sheds or campers. Not THAT strange to see.
You see decommissioned buses and even decommissioned ambulances around where I live all the time. It's definitely more of a rural thing but it's not too uncommon!
weirdest thing I've seen an old school bus converted to was a barn (they basically just took off the wheels and removed all the seats), the homeowners had a donkey living in it.
All the mundane little tasks these games make you do always make them feel super cozy. If it weren't for the home invading murderers it would be the ideal life simulator lol

Who goes to a pizzeria. Asks for 6 slices instead of a pizza. And then uses two half empty pizza boxes to put them in. Such a weird waste of carboard and bad sense of deals.
Lots of local places do pizza by the slice, so if you want variety you can get a slice each of several different kinds. They usually serve them in normal boxes, too.
@@DeathnoteBBit’s wrong by the time period, but today in my area, a small pizza is usually 6-8 slices and around $20. By the slice pizza is always a HUGE slice so you’re pretty much getting at least a medium for the same $20. It’s actually a pretty good deal to be honest 🤷🏻♀️
My favorite part is how it's being narrated in past tense, so you can just imagine this lady telling the story and then derailing into random tangents about putting down toilet seats

The only real horror here is mikes lack of social awareness. Everyone here is mentioning the hugs, but is ignoring that this dude woke the Mc up at 1 in the morning thought it would be a good idea to confess his feelings and offer to sleep in the same room. He couldn't have done it at an earlier time, like when they were fishing or watching TV? I was more creeped out by his behavior than the other crazy dudes

Have a friend who does this, apparently they say that it tastes bland. I personally say this is where you pull out a dipping sauce and eat free breadsticks.
A lot of people do that where I live. I never understood it. You just ate a massive piece of (baked) dough slathered in tomato sauce and cheese. Might as well eat the rest of it. It's the best part for me.
I personally don't eat pizza crust all the time. There are times where I do, and times where I don't. I have no clue where I got it from, or why, but I just usually don't.
Despite the sillier choices the game forced on you, I feel like this one was especially good at creating a tense, uncomfortable atmosphere. I didn’t feel like she was safe with any guy here, especially Mike. I like how the creator uses misdirection often in this series so you never really know where the threat is going to come from. I’d be looking forward to another season or whatever the dev has in mind next. 👍🏻
I thought this episode did a great job portraying the necessity for vigilance in women's day to day life. Obviously the game is hyperbolic, but it conveyed the tense, hyperaware mood well

Dear Fears To Fathom devs, nobody in the history of gaming ever has sat down and wished there was realistic chewing noises in the game ever, thank you.
Dude I had a scary instance of staying at an Air BnB for one night, and just had the worst vibes ever. Just a dingy place with instances of someone had been living there and not just a rental. With a locked door in a bedroom that was directly next to the bed. Horror games told me that someone was 100% going to come of that door while i was sleeping, and against my instinct, i decided to stay. Thankfully, nothing happened, but I left as soon as morning came.
I used AirBnBs quite a bit before the fees got out of control, and distinctly remember the ratings were almost always close to 5/5 unless there was something funky going on. Anywhere below 4 stars was to be avoided like the plague for those exact kinda reasons, was *never* worth saving a few bucks
My friend's brother once had to stay in a hotel for one night. There was a locked black door in his room. Nothing happened but he was afraid and blocked it with furniture
...umm no. You shoild not have done that. What is the point of putting a random locked door in your BEDROOM when you know that other , unfamiliarized people will be coming to that place to sleep and relax? Way too creepy. And unnecessary. At that point Id just stay at almost any dingy, boring hotel in that area. I know the hotels there may have bed bugs, roaches, rats, etc... but the pests wont rob or kill you. A random deranged person or geroup of people behind that door? They probably will...
Did anyone notice that after coming back from fishing 48:47, the basement and fridge doors were open? Even one of the milk cartons was gone, haha. I bet the fake Rick drank it and is hiding downstairs, which is why after playing with the Ouija board, there were sounds coming from the forbidden door 54:00 🚪

Absolutely adore the serene parts of this, the music is fantastic & the vibes are beyond immaculate; I'd love an hour long version of those parts, without the "oohhh look at this freaaakyy thiinnggg" portions of course. And love to see the new actions, small details, & animations, like hugging, Mike picking up the table, Oujia playing, the cup throwing, etc etc. Happy to see these improving more & more!

I think the scary music inside the house (and outside just as they arrived) is the way to show how Harp is feeling staying there, the house makes her feel anxious, she then calms down while fishing, the music turns chill, back inside the house - she gets anxious (very understandable cause of the crepy guy and a potential granny ghost in the basement).
Uhm.. Did you not notice that upon returning from fishing, the fridge door was open, as was the basement door and a milk cartoon was missing. That id why the scary music came.
The pseudoRick was probably some troublesome relative of the real house owner, the kind that hasn't done anything extreme YET, but the whole family feels awkward around.

Surrounded by creeps you didn't know, where the threat is right until the end. Puts many other horror games to shame. FtF is on another level - hoping for a second season, awesome horror series!
it was very obvious to me tbh, i knew the guy wasnt home owner at start because the real rick didnt wrote a message at all, also like mike says nobody fixes sink with hammer or creepily enters inside in rental cabin. though story was very fun and engaging the minigame stuff was also good. probably best FTF so far in terms of quality though i still prefer carson house
The MC would have found that out sooner had she texted the owner "Hey, we found the cat you told us you were looking for in the attic" like I would have done immediately after finding a cat in the attic and the Real rick would have responded "I don't have a cat"/"I haven't spoken to you" or something

I'm actually really impressed with this, for a team of 5~ people they did a great job. The atmosphere was perfect, and the build-up was very fun. The interactivity in the game was also refreshing to see. The people who made this should be very proud of their work.
I suspect these games were not actually made with the intent to tell stories about people having near death experiences with strangers, But rather they were an excuse for Pizza AMSR. (Seriously though, why is this in (almost) all of them?)
As much as I like this game, the anachronism between the time the game takes place in and the use of modern messaging apps breaks my suspension of disbelief
Yeah, the game appears to be in like 2005. Mike is getting a Nintendo DS which released Nov 21st 2004, Sydney's neighbor playing a PSP which was released March 24th 2005, and the car ads for "New 2005, 2006 vehicles. The IPhone didn't come out until 2007

This *Fears to Fathom* reminds me a bit of the movie _"Come to Daddy (2019)"_ Where Elijah Woods goes to meet his father for the first time or something. But when he goes to his father's house in the middle of nowhere, he meets this weird creepy abusive guy who claims to be his father. Woods later finds out that the guy is a kidnapper and his real father is actually being held captive under the house by a gang.
I remember seeing a mobie like this too, but it was two kinds going to stay at their grandparents house for the first time but it turned out these two old folks were from an hospital or something and killed their grandparents. It's a bit fuzzy.

The dialogue really threw me off on this one, like it was set in the 90’s but the prices and language of the characters made it seem like it was modern day.
It wasn't set it the 90s. The air bnb style website for rentals wasn't a phenomenon then. There was a car commercial playing in the pizzeria scene that mentioned "all new 2005, 2006 models", so it was was probably set in 2005. I have no idea what pizza by the slice in VT cost then, or cabin rentals, but the dialogue fits that time frame.

Mike reminds me a lot of a guy I met in college... I have debilitating social anxiety, I was trying to push myself to make friends and join social events and he kept touching my back, my leg, my arm when sitting next to me. I've always been very isolated and non-confrontational, I didn't know if those were normal friendly behaviours and I did not dare to question it. Then he invited me to hang out with him and his sister's friend group... when I went, his sister's friends allegedly "had to leave early" and I was stuck alone with him the entire time. Kept trying to hold my hand, even forced it out of my pocket. When the following days I tried to distance myself from him he shifted behaviour and immediately started side-eyeing me and acting bitter like I was a bitch. Coincidentally his name was Micheal
Oh wow something similar happened to me about a year ago. I also have social anxiety. To make a long story short I was on a date with a guy and I just didn't feel like we were vibing well. But I stayed to be polite. (I know) Anyway, we stood next to his car after dinner and he kept talking to me about anime nonstop and I was listening to be nice. We say our goodbyes and all of a sudden he gets into my personal space, puts his hands on my lower back, and forces me to kiss him. No warning, no asking. Just suddenly there's this man in my space. Yeah.... it was really awful. I never got into my car so fast in my life. And sure I could've pushed him off me and made a scene but I didn't know this guy or how he'd react and I have social anxiety and that's the last thing I want to do. Also I'm not very big, I'm only 4'11, so there's only so much I can do. Honestly I'm so sorry that happened to you. It seems like whenever people like us try to put ourselves out there it just ends up blowing up in our face. :( I hope you're doing better now.
The person who wrote that 100% TRUE and HONEST Email to the FtF dev for "some reason" comes across like a Redditor's first draft for r/NoSleep, it doesn't at all like someone telling a story about something that actually happened to them. As Jonathan Frakes would say "If you guessed that this unfortunate tale of terror was a true event, well then you guessed WRONG. That's right, we made it up."
I think that's fine though, the appeal (the same as nosleep) is the plausability. Like even though its almost definitely fictional they need to be written in a certain way so that you can suspend disbelief if you get immersed enough into the story
I've been playing a lot of Fear and Hunger Termina, and am playing it while watching the video--the sound effect at around 37:00 (the screech followed by the dude jumpscare) is mixed into the nightmare world ambient theme and I had sudden whiplash thinking I'd triggered something in the game.
With plenty of horror elements in the game such as the ouija board, a basement with a room out of access, a cat outta nowhere in the attic, was expecting a lot more scares but really felt the intensity. Nice one like the other ones in the series !

Lots of local places do pizza by the slice, so if you want variety you can get a slice each of several different kinds. They usually serve them in normal boxes, too.

@@DeathnoteBBit’s wrong by the time period, but today in my area, a small pizza is usually 6-8 slices and around $20. By the slice pizza is always a HUGE slice so you’re pretty much getting at least a medium for the same $20. It’s actually a pretty good deal to be honest 🤷🏻♀️

Depending on the quality of the pizza place and how many pizzas they pump out each day, sometimes the crust tastes low-quality.
A lot of people do that where I live. I never understood it. You just ate a massive piece of (baked) dough slathered in tomato sauce and cheese. Might as well eat the rest of it. It's the best part for me.
I personally don't eat pizza crust all the time. There are times where I do, and times where I don't. I have no clue where I got it from, or why, but I just usually don't.

Despite the sillier choices the game forced on you, I feel like this one was especially good at creating a tense, uncomfortable atmosphere. I didn’t feel like she was safe with any guy here, especially Mike. I like how the creator uses misdirection often in this series so you never really know where the threat is going to come from. I’d be looking forward to another season or whatever the dev has in mind next. 👍🏻
I thought this episode did a great job portraying the necessity for vigilance in women's day to day life.
Obviously the game is hyperbolic, but it conveyed the tense, hyperaware mood well

Dude I had a scary instance of staying at an Air BnB for one night, and just had the worst vibes ever. Just a dingy place with instances of someone had been living there and not just a rental. With a locked door in a bedroom that was directly next to the bed. Horror games told me that someone was 100% going to come of that door while i was sleeping, and against my instinct, i decided to stay. Thankfully, nothing happened, but I left as soon as morning came.
I used AirBnBs quite a bit before the fees got out of control, and distinctly remember the ratings were almost always close to 5/5 unless there was something funky going on. Anywhere below 4 stars was to be avoided like the plague for those exact kinda reasons, was *never* worth saving a few bucks

My friend's brother once had to stay in a hotel for one night. There was a locked black door in his room. Nothing happened but he was afraid and blocked it with furniture

Absolutely adore the serene parts of this, the music is fantastic & the vibes are beyond immaculate; I'd love an hour long version of those parts, without the "oohhh look at this freaaakyy thiinnggg" portions of course.
And love to see the new actions, small details, & animations, like hugging, Mike picking up the table, Oujia playing, the cup throwing, etc etc.

I think the scary music inside the house (and outside just as they arrived) is the way to show how Harp is feeling staying there, the house makes her feel anxious, she then calms down while fishing, the music turns chill, back inside the house - she gets anxious (very understandable cause of the crepy guy and a potential granny ghost in the basement).
Uhm.. Did you not notice that upon returning from fishing, the fridge door was open, as was the basement door and a milk cartoon was missing. That id why the scary music came.

it was very obvious to me tbh, i knew the guy wasnt home owner at start because the real rick didnt wrote a message at all, also like mike says nobody fixes sink with hammer or creepily enters inside in rental cabin. though story was very fun and engaging the minigame stuff was also good. probably best FTF so far in terms of quality though i still prefer carson house

I'm actually really impressed with this, for a team of 5~ people they did a great job. The atmosphere was perfect, and the build-up was very fun. The interactivity in the game was also refreshing to see. The people who made this should be very proud of their work.
The obvious reason not to open the door for "Rick" is that the owner would have a key. He wouldn't need to ask to be let in.

Woods later finds out that the guy is a kidnapper and his real father is actually being held captive under the house by a gang.
A game got big on itchio a few weeks ago that essentially followed that plot, 'Dad'.
I remember seeing a mobie like this too, but it was two kinds going to stay at their grandparents house for the first time but it turned out these two old folks were from an hospital or something and killed their grandparents. It's a bit fuzzy.

The dialogue really threw me off on this one, like it was set in the 90’s but the prices and language of the characters made it seem like it was modern day.
It wasn't set it the 90s. The air bnb style website for rentals wasn't a phenomenon then. There was a car commercial playing in the pizzeria scene that mentioned "all new 2005, 2006 models", so it was was probably set in 2005. I have no idea what pizza by the slice in VT cost then, or cabin rentals, but the dialogue fits that time frame.

Mike reminds me a lot of a guy I met in college... I have debilitating social anxiety, I was trying to push myself to make friends and join social events and he kept touching my back, my leg, my arm when sitting next to me. I've always been very isolated and non-confrontational, I didn't know if those were normal friendly behaviours and I did not dare to question it. Then he invited me to hang out with him and his sister's friend group... when I went, his sister's friends allegedly "had to leave early" and I was stuck alone with him the entire time. Kept trying to hold my hand, even forced it out of my pocket. When the following days I tried to distance myself from him he shifted behaviour and immediately started side-eyeing me and acting bitter like I was a bitch. Coincidentally his name was Micheal
You did well to distance yourself from him, that sounds awful. I'm sorry you experienced that.

Oh wow something similar happened to me about a year ago. I also have social anxiety. To make a long story short I was on a date with a guy and I just didn't feel like we were vibing well. But I stayed to be polite. (I know) Anyway, we stood next to his car after dinner and he kept talking to me about anime nonstop and I was listening to be nice. We say our goodbyes and all of a sudden he gets into my personal space, puts his hands on my lower back, and forces me to kiss him. No warning, no asking. Just suddenly there's this man in my space. Yeah.... it was really awful. I never got into my car so fast in my life. And sure I could've pushed him off me and made a scene but I didn't know this guy or how he'd react and I have social anxiety and that's the last thing I want to do. Also I'm not very big, I'm only 4'11, so there's only so much I can do. Honestly I'm so sorry that happened to you. It seems like whenever people like us try to put ourselves out there it just ends up blowing up in our face. :( I hope you're doing better now.

I've watched a lot of these playthroughs, and this was legitimately creepy. Maybe I'm just in the right mood, but this felt real.
The person who wrote that 100% TRUE and HONEST Email to the FtF dev for "some reason" comes across like a Redditor's first draft for r/NoSleep, it doesn't at all like someone telling a story about something that actually happened to them.
As Jonathan Frakes would say "If you guessed that this unfortunate tale of terror was a true event, well then you guessed WRONG. That's right, we made it up."

iirc ftf was based in r/nosleep, so yeah, stories are "real" as they get lol
I think that's fine though, the appeal (the same as nosleep) is the plausability. Like even though its almost definitely fictional they need to be written in a certain way so that you can suspend disbelief if you get immersed enough into the story

I've been playing a lot of Fear and Hunger Termina, and am playing it while watching the video--the sound effect at around 37:00 (the screech followed by the dude jumpscare) is mixed into the nightmare world ambient theme and I had sudden whiplash thinking I'd triggered something in the game.
I love how universally (and justifiably) hated mike is in every playthrough 😂
With plenty of horror elements in the game such as the ouija board, a basement with a room out of access, a cat outta nowhere in the attic, was expecting a lot more scares but really felt the intensity. Nice one like the other ones in the series !
