      I've really had great results with these Nav batteries so far... 17 minutes with a lightweight 5inch drone on a 3000mah 6s Nav battery!!!

    This is really good information. On my 7" DIY build I have three different batteries I typically run. I have two CNHL LiPo batteries. A 1300mAh and a 1500mAh. And I have an Auline 4000mAh Li-Ion. I have not flown with multiple packs at the same time but I do see similar results as those you are displaying here between the two different chemistries. In general terms I get around 5 minute flight times from the LiPo batteries and a bit over ten minutes from the Li-Ion. I think I could go a lot longer with both types if I employed better throttle management and lost some weight. I appreciate you producing these videos confirming what I'm seeing regarding the differences between the battery chemistries. One interesting note from my informal testing is that I get about the same top speed from my LiPo as I do from my Li-Ion. It's admittedly a very unscientific test with many variables but flying wide open in angle mode at a constant altitude, I can only achieve about 56mph from my 7" be it LiPo or Li-Ion. I do see a bit better punch with the LiPo. It seems to get to max speed more quickly than the Li-Ion, but it's not as noticeable as I thought it would be.       Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm surprised you're getting similar top speeds with both battery chemistries. Your li-ion is going to be much happier, and last longer, without being pushed to discharge too many amps, though 😉 I have both of those CNHL battery sizes, super useful and the price is right! The next time you're shopping for batteries consider buying them in pairs and picking up a parallel cable, your 7inch will handle the weight of a 2600 or 3000 equivalent mah pack no problem, might even do better in the wind, and you'll get some long flight times. Just beware of running lipos too low, when it comes to flying long-range, li-ion is so much more reliable when you're far out because you can fly them down so much lower if you have to in order to get home..

    On large scale 3D electric airplanes I also have to use higher pitch/diameter props than people at sea level do. I only prop up to get the same watts as those at sea level get. This gives me similar performance (ie hover pull out) as sea level and I have not found lower flight times compared to sea level. If propping up to only give the same watts as sea level should give the same power usage/flight times as sea level, or am I missing something?

      It's interesting to hear your experience. I honestly cannot say for sure or offer any scientific explanations, but I have always understood that at higher elevations the air is less dense, so with all else being equal, to achieve the same amount of lift/thrust you need to run higher pitch props and therefor you can expect less flight time. I haven't actually tested that hypothesis by flying the exact same setups at different altitudes though...

    Nice video! I thought about building a cruiser drone like this but I have the DJI FPV which does more than enough for me and has reached over 3 miles out.

      Hey thanks for watching! I hear you, if your current equipment does what you need it to, just keep flying it, this hobby is expensive enough without constantly upgrading. Then when/if your DJI FPV breaks or crashes, there will be a whole new generation of gear to consider.... happy flying!

    I am a new baby pilot for fpv, and I got 660&750&1300 lipo. 3000 on livion. Maybe I should storage 660-750 on fly test, and choose 1300 in mid range and 3000 on long range.

      Those numbers sound right but I need to know what you're flying to be sure. Is it a 5" or a 7"? At the end of the day it's a compromise between performance, efficiency, and weight, i.e., whether you want to "spend" your weight allowance on a heavier but more durable quad, a GoPro, or a large battery...too much weight makes the quad less efficient and it won't fly great, so there is always a trade-off or a sweet spot! What are you flying?

      my target is quite clean on the beginning.
      I prefer to enjoy the flight with a light weight drone.
      So I practice few month with avata and then choose a 4inch DC frame drone without extra camera.
      mid range, ocean view and few mountain flight. pretty like to enjoy the feeling in the sky. @@colibrifpv

      Yes but these are most beneficial with efficient setups, so you will get results by really managing throttle to keep amp draw low... no punch out 😁

    Help me please with a choice of FPV camera and VTX for a 5" quad(analog). Something decent/good(not the best and most expensive), better than i have(Foxeer XAT600M и Eachine TX526 600mW). Also what antenna and where to buy for goggles. Thanks a lot!!!

      From the info you juts mentioned I'm assuming that you want to stick with analog, right? Just FYI, the DJI googles are on sale right now and you can get the Integra goggles for $350 amzn.to/4bsHkC7 so if you ever want to jump into digital, now is the time! Back to analog... do you use Crossfire? If so, a TBS Sixty9 is a great product with built in GPS/crossfire. If you don't use crossfire, check out the GEPRC Maten VTX... it's $60, but it's about the best analog VTX on the market... bit.ly/Maten

    whats the maximum speed you can fly with the 6s lion on a 7inch copter?

      Hey there my friend, thanks for watching! I'm sorry to say that I don't actually know that, other than to say that it is "plenty" for the cinematic cruising flights I like to do with my 7". It would be very easy to test just using the speed provided by the GPS and the amp draw to get an idea of speed versus battery limitations, I just haven't done it. If you are concerned with speed, go with a 2p 6s pack so the amp draw is shared across pairs of cells and you will be fine 👍

      No, that's not what they are intended for. Technically you could, on a super lightweight and efficient quad, but if you are going to fly aggressively you will get better results with lipos. Lithium-ion batteries are really for long, efficient flights where you trade speed/acrobatics for flight times...

      You can use 2 antenas left hand polarization but you will sacrifice a bit of signal power, flyfish sells Long range dual band o3 antenna

      A dual band linear antenna designed for the DJI 03 should get you better range, the number I've heard is 40% better. Lumenier makes some great DJI O3 antennas: bit.ly/LumO3

Its about 1db los wich is nearly nothing, The difference of running LHCP and linear are almost not noticeable, i was able to get 5+ km of good signal coverage with non dual band linear antenna... Is ideal to have linear polarization yes but you wont notice the difference

      Thanks for sharing your experience but I've heard differently, @JoshuaBardwell
      mentioned in a video that the difference is more like 3db which translates into about 40% more or less difference, but in real word conditions maybe not so much because you are more likely to be using long aftermarket LHCP antennas whereas the original DJI O3 antennas was short and may not always clear the battery/frame. These Lumenier Duality antennas should give you the best of both worlds but I admit I still haven't had a chance to test them out. For what it's worth, running identical goggles/DJI O3 VTX, my Moz7 with top of the line long TrueRC LHCP antennas gets less range than my Mark5 with the original DJIO3 antennas and I can DEFINITELY notice the difference...

      Hi Stefan, yes, this battery is designed use on large, long range quads, but you do need to take a few things into account. First, if you are careful with your throttle you will get better results and your batteries will last longer - these are not lipos so avoid punch outs and aggressive maneuvers : ) Second, you will get best results either with the 6000mah pack or two 3000 run in parallel because these "2p" setups will be dividing the amp draw across two sets of 6s cells (12 cells in total)... more cells to share the amp load for larger quads.       I use HV lipos on my micros and you can definitely do that and it will give you a bit more flight time, and you can also buy higher end, lighter lipos than the ones I showed in this video, but li-ion batteries are still going to back a lot more energy for the same amount of weight. Another thing is that even though HV cells of are rated for 4.35V, what I understand is that they will still wear out faster. It's like charing your li-ion packs to 4.1v or 4.2v cell... 4.1 will give you longer battery life, 4.2 will give you a slightly longer flight....

      I'm demonstrating the concept that you get greater energy capacity vs. weight with li-ion packs than you do with lipos packs, and your comment is mistaken...I am not comparing 4s to 6s, I'm comparing 4s to 4s and 6s to 6s. Were I comparing 4s to 6s I would have done it in watt-hours, and I think I did talk about watt-hours in the context of the rules for taking your flight packs on airplanes. Seriously 😉
