Today we are back with another video. In todays video we talk about the summer transition. It is crazy to already see fish moving to deeper depths but with the current heat wave the water temps are on the rise. Pulling spinner rigs with leeches is a super effective way to catch these fish when the seasons change. In this video I talk about where to look when early summer walleye fishing as well as some rigging tips. Thanks for watching all the walleye fishing content and stay tuned for more!

Tom Boley always has a way of explaining things so I could easily understand them.
Beautiful fish guys the techniques is so productive wow.
on vide saw spoons, what brand and size is the blue or silver you were running on the 5 ft rod? Great video, please go over line and bait spinner brand and float brand on your death rigs!!! thanks
Nice informational video. I would sugges turning the reel ticker off.
What speed do you try maintain and do you speed up the wormer the water gets ?
wow! I never thought of using bottom bouncers like that, great idea. I am going to try that. thanks for the great videos
What do you use them for?
@@sniffum35 drag them on the bottom with spinners or crank baits. Did not think to use them like a snap weight
@@johnweitzel6365 okay, I see what you're saying now
Great show Tom
Awesome content, thanks for the education!
Is a thermocline evident during this trip?
Spin City! gonna give it a go today. thanks Tom
Great idea with the bottom bouncers. Never done that but Gonna try it. Thank u Hooked Up Fish On !
Love your videos, especially the trolling stuff! Do you ever run crankbaits in your home waters? When would you choose cranks over spinners?
Looks like the eastern end of the middle section of Lac Courte
Great video awesome information
Morning ladies, time for work ...
Great info!
Now I know how I'll fish today.
Where are you fishing?
What speed are you trolling at?
Probably about 0.8 - 1.2 mph. You wanna go slow with spinners. Especially now. Bump up the speed when water gets warmer
He said 1.2-1.4 in another comment
If you are trolling 6 to 13 ft of water what size bottom bouncer would you use and how far back would you set them back?
3/4
Why a bottom bouncer if you're not going to the bottom? Would a snap or inline keel weight work the same in this situation?
Never mind.... you answered it in the vid. Thank you!
I like to fish and feel like I could do it everyday
Not sure I will get an answer, going to ask though hoping so. Bottom bouncers 15 feet down. The line counter showed 90 feet. Are you using some type of chart trolling guide to know you are running spinners at 15 with 90 out? Similar to running cranks etc? Just trying to determine how you set depth with bottom bouncers not on bottom. Thank you in advance. Will buy hoodie if answered to support.
That is with a planer board. You can Google dive curves. Or just go out and see where it touches
In the video (at 12:15) he said 35-40 feet of water, but I think he meant to say 35-40 feet back. I don't remember him saying what speed he's at or what weight mono he's running, but both those factors will effect the depth those are "diving" too. And congratulations on getting an answer!
@@TomBoley thanks buying hoodie!
@@wiscofun3028 Thank you.
One maybe odd question I have is that if you can’t use more that one rod per guy, would you still use planers ?
I’ve always wondered how much speed is a factor trolling spinner rigs? I feel going to fast really inhibits consistent walleye production and more pike. Do you have sweet spot for trolling speeds Tom? Thanks
Also wondering about speed. Could you give a general range and does it increase as the water warms throughout summer?
Good question hopefully we get an answer as i am wondering also!
Spinner are almost always 1.2 to 1.4
@@TomBoley thanks for the info!
@@TomBoley thanks for the info!
@@TomBoley Are you guiding?
Come to lake poygan an fish I would love to see a video shot here - it’s a flat lake with sand an mud for the most part an I don’t know what to do as far as jigging with plastics so I’m an so fourth
Tom, your link to the Simms site doesn’t seam to be work. I don’t think the link has been working for a while on your videos.
How fast are you going when pulling theses spinners?
Nice fishing! What boards are those?
Looks like Opti.
Are u trolling with electric motor most of time?????
Tom, how fast you trolling ?
1.3
How's you Suzuki working for you ?
What net do you use? I have an ego slider I like but its to heavy when a guys by himself its kind of a pain!
Let's catch some walleye!
Where the down imaging content I only have cleavu 😫
Why don’t you troll with your 9.9?
Speed probably trolls cranks with that
Do you use leeches over crawlers because crawlers are messy ?
What are the cons to using spincast for trolling? Would rather not have to buy 2 extra rods and/or reels for trolling
That’s what I have always wondered
I've been running 9ft MH Salmon spinning rods with 4000 Stradics for years. Works great and is super fast when changing lures. Just downsize the boards a bit.
@@hansvanderspank9084 how about 7ft? 😅
Too short I think.
You don't need special rods for trolling bottom bouncers. The line counters help but with bouncers it's not really needed.
Bet you couldn’t catch 10 walleyes in a day at Shell Lake
Tom could catch 20. 🤓
