- Опубліковано 20 сер 2020
- In this video I talk all about how and where to find late summer walleyes. I showcase 3 different spots and show you how fish relate to them. Late summer can be a challenging time to find and catch walleyes but once you get accustomed to what you are looking for it can be a lot of fun! This video focuses on Humminbird Helix sonar, down imaging and side imaging views. I also showcase some underwater footage from the Marcum Underwater Camera. Thanks for watching!

"Mr.Surly", missed him
I wish I could fish with this dude. I hope your Channel keeps growing Tom you’re the best.
The absolute most informative fishing channel I’ve ever watched!! Keep the videos comin, Tom. Thanks!
Simply amazing! Glad you brought the underwater camera into this video. Really enjoyed the tutorial and I am now convinced you are a fishing guru.
I laugh when you say You are done fishing because Shelby is hungry. NOT! Say it like it is. Shelby needs a land break! I fish with my husband enough to know! Oh and we so enjoy your shows. You have given us some useful tips. Which show we are never too old to learn!
One of the best fishing videos I have seen this year.
Tom, another great video. Thanks again for taking the time to record these spots on side imaging, down imaging, sonar and the camera. It really helps to see all the electronics come into play to show you what is down there. Reading and interpreting my electronics is the most valuable skill I can use, and your videos are extremely helpful in that regard. Thanks.
You're by far the absolute best at breaking it all down for the beginner all the way to the pros. out there. And even tho the "pros" won't admit it, you're definitely educating them as well. I was kinda on the fence about the di and you absolutely sold me on getting it now. Thank you for giving up some of your secrets! Not many guys out there willing to give it up like you do.
Yes, Tom is the best at sharing the how tos and when ,wheres And whys! Its exactly why we can learn to be great at fishing too
Great video. I like the mix between electronics, underwater video, and fish catches. You really do a great job!
This video/vod is just another classic reason you're the best in the bizz Tom! Just a quintessential professional at breaking it down for an amateur like me. Thank you. 🙏
I remain hopeful that you will one day venture to my neighborhood in Ontario, Canada. Just let me know how much $ and we'll roll out the red carpet. I'm sure that you've heard of the Bay of Quinte? Keep up the magnificent work! ;) p.s. Bring the whole family... Hi Shelby & Sirley! 👋🎣🎏
Most informative videos on youtube. Will only get more and more recognition. Keep up the amazing work Tom!
Awesome!! Finally got the boat rigged with all the electronic goodies, so cant wait to put it all together and catch a fish with it!! Powerfull stuff!! Keep the vid's coming, maybe one on the live scope also!! Thankyou Tom!!👍
You really are the GOAT of Walleye fishing.
best channel on fishing in UA-cam - thanks Tom
Another great, beneficial video. I appreciate your work Tom !
Enjoy your video immensely! Thanks for all your time and great information.
Absolutely love this channel..thank you , Tom
Watching your videos gives me so much confidence
Best fishing UA-camr EVER. Keep it up Tom!
Love what you do. Especially like to see what you look for on sonar.
Great info as always Tom. Thx for what you do
This video was amazing, detailing how to break down and find fish.
U are just the best teacher ever!!! I learn so much from you so thank you !!
Thank u for being so detailed in explaining and showing what kind of structures and humps and at what depths etc. to find walleyes. I've watched other guys here on UTUBE and they would only talk about the lures used; nothing on the structures or depths, which was ok but not as thorough as u.
So thank u. Keep it up! Ur doing a great job! 😀👍😀👍
Man thanks, you really helped answer a lot of questions that have been running in my head.
One of the most informative videos I've ever seen. Subscribed!
Love it ,,,, will start watching sonar a lot more. Thanks!!
man i love the underwater footage, need to bring my Marcum with me more often
Awesome videos.cant wait to try the
Snap jigging in MN in a couple weeks. Can't get enough of your techniques and tactics. Keep up the great work.
Marcum camera show just what you said. Neat!
Perfect timing for this video in trying two new lakes this weekend my lake is to deep and clear makes for difficult fishing during day
Best fishing channel I’ve ever seen thanks
Happy Day Mr. Tom. Switched to mono last weekend like you suggested and beat their brakes off. Great information on how you go about your business. Have a good one my friend👊
Great training on using the electronics. Thanks for all the good training. I'll apply it to my Garmin.
Very informative. Thank you!

Great advice as usual.
Mr. Tom, Your a great teacher!! Love learning about fishing!!! Not fishing yet in northern Michigan. But soon.
This is so informative that it’s entertaining.
I would like to hear tactics for reservoirs also. I’ve been struggling locating them in late summer
Fantastic lesson !
Nice video as always Tom! The Shelbster! Nice Van Halen shirt!
Love this channel so much. Thanks for sharing your knowledge we just limited out using this strategy on a northern MN lake

Another great job thanks
Digging the Van Halen tshirt, Shelby 🤘🤘🤘
Great video learn a lot from watching this channel
Tom please take me fishing. Teach and show me your magical walleye wisdom. I will drive from Michigan. Love the dog fishing with you also
How in the world do you also find time to catch huge muskies too? The best channel out there. I still can't find the walleyes after the water cooled in the river. Thanks again, Tom for a great video!
Awesome video!
Nice video. Thank You Tom
Tom you are doing great. I like the summer and I am on my way north October 9th and hope the turn has hit. the education is fantastic for me. Northern WI Eagle river area, your on point for me.
Thank you.
THIS was a good walleye video
Awesome video
I’ve started using this technique and it is a blast. However I don’t have any Hyper Rattles atm, I’ve been using Rapala Jigging Raps. Love the videos keep up the great work.
Good morning Tom, I'm a Hayward resident and enjoy watching your videos and really like to see you release almost all of your fish. Can you touch on the importance of catch and release in the Hayward lakes area? Like you say in your video we dont have clumps of a hundred walleyes in any of our lakes. Thank you.
Nice job you Three! ...
Very good channel thanks 😎
A dog named Surly? Okay I'm hooked.
Awesome episode. Deets.
Awesome awesome awesome 👍
Absolutely enjoy this kind of content. Some people may not like it as much since there's little actual fishing but so educational. You ever catch those smallies on the hyper-rattle?
Best video!
Great videos for walleye keep up the good work. My favorite part of summer is fishing at family cottage for walleye. Found perfect spot on the lake I constantly hit walleye and big bass. I avoided all the areas people normally fish and have had more luck. What else you suggest I use for catching walleye. I usually use leeches and have the most luck. In a week I'll go through a few dozen leeches and you suggest just tying hook to line and avoid using a clasp for the lure
Wish to see more underwater videos~
Tom you should try fishing on the tiger cat flowage
Great shots with the underwater camera. This is so helpful to me in learning how to read and mark fish with the DI AND SI. With the hyper rattles do You tie on direct or use a small swivel? I just received 3 I ordered for a trip we are taking this next week.
Thanks Tom
Per his recommendations in the past....Snap swivel, looped through the back hole (lure has two of them, located on top).
That was helpful
Just discovered your channel. You do a fantastic job of presenting information. I am looking forward to watching more of your work. PS: I hope you got Shelby fed. :)
Thanks for watching
Best videos. Wow.
Awesome video. I wonder if these techniques work in shallower lakes with 15 to 35 feet max depths - not as many distinct bottom features.
Tom love your vids ! When do you use lead core vs bottom walker ? Thanks
good video.
What an awesome instructional video! Do you have video on how you have helix setup? Why is side imagining not effective in rocks vs sand? I have a very old 2d sonar unit lowrance elite 4x 😀 so this technology is all new to me
I have recently been steered to your channel and have just tried to absorb as much great info as I can! I grew up walleye fishing as a kid on one of your favorite Hayward Lakes. I have a Humminbird Helix 5 DI & SI gen 2 along with an older Lowrance LMS 520C. I can't seem to find the pods of fish that you showcase. I've tried 3 different times and just can't find them. How do you start fishing if you can't find what you are looking for? I always grew up being taught to look for weeds and structure but not worry about graphing fish. What are your thoughts? Keep up the great work with the informative videos. I have learned more from you in the last month or so that I never new was a "thing" in walleye fishing than in the rest of my life. As a note, I have been able to pick up a couple small walleyes and a perch with the jiggin' rap, but just can't find any pods. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for all of your information!
So I’ve been following you for a while, wondering if you could walk me through some spots on a local lake, I have plotted out a couple of points that I think (based on your advice) but just want to see if I am getting the hang of it. I normally do a lot of salmon fishing. This is my first year trying to target walleye.
Great videos though! Thanks!
Tom, great searching tips!!!! Will the "depth highlight" feature work with Navionics? Or is it just a Lakemaster/ base map(not to accurate) option.
Hey Tom, I'm just wondering what your settings are for your down imaging and 2d. You do a great job with your videos and I enjoy your content alot. Thanks
Great video! do you have to run two transducers to have multiple screens showing sonar, down imaging, and chart?
Nice tail grab Tom 😁
Tom, what was the actual date you were doing this video. I’m just trying to sort out what “mid vs late” summer is. Taking first fall walleye trip to north mn, ( usually go in June) and trying to figure out starting depths. Very informative and well produced video brother, and I hope surly isn’t hook shy after this trip.. lol. God bless and tyvm!!
Must be nice to have connections. You cant find the larger size Hyper Rattles anywhere!
Any insight on where you would fish for Walleye on Truman lake in MO? It’s totally different then what you’re used to, but any insight would be awesome!
