Today we are back with another video and we are doing some walleye fishing as big storm rolls in. In this video I talk about fishing for walleye in the weeds during the middle of summer. Weed walleyes are often overlooked during this season and sometimes it can be some of the better walleye fishing to be had. Great job on the weed edge walleye. I thought it was a very enjoyable video to watch, I especially like the interaction between you and Shelby, she's really good at walleye fishing and seems like she's really into it. Wish I had a girl that liked to go out on walleye fish like that, you are a lucky guy Tom. I would also like to add your explanation of of the electronic use of the side imaging and the 360 & the slice of regular sonar was really great and informative. You really know how to put a strategy together and implement it. I thought that 11 and a half foot rod was another really cool idea to get stuff away from the boat and widen your spread and increase the amount of rods. Overall really like that video and Shelby made it real entertaining and interesting as well.👊 "Big Daddy" & "Super Shelby" 👍

Had a similar experience on Winnie once with the lines being 'sucked' up by the static in the air. Lake was dead calm - glassy, which was very odd. We were in the middle of the lake having a good time when the storm started moving in from the west. Remember there being a tornado sighted on the west side, so we made a bee-line back to the resort (Williams Narrows). We just got the boat on the trailer when all hell broke loose for a half hour. Then we were back out.

Heading out to a Canadian Shield Lake. All solid rock, little to no silt or weeds in lake. Can only say the walleye follow the bait fish around. Everybody seems to be throwing slip bobbers and leeches. I tried the Ned Rig while there a month ago. It works! Zman TRD and light jighead. Even caught a Blue Walleye. Check Lake Kipawa out. Deep solid rock shoreline, some humps, minor transition areas. Your HB info has really helped my game.

Still scouting my area. Ottawa river is special. Current, gets deep quick etc. Some flats basin style especially near the carillon dam.

I usually give thumbs up but there aren’t many places you can pull crawlers in weeds without getting hammered by sunfish. Not usable in most areas. IMHO.

In my area the lake master maps are in 10’ contours. Any suggestions for other maps.
just wish ol tom would come on down to Nebraska and show us how to catch eyes in Big Mac, or Harlan county Dam, but I know he won`t for he can`t catch any eyes here either

What speed are you running the 360 at in order to get that image while pulling harnesses? I feel like the image would be washed out if you are anything above 5?
Probably was at 1.5 MPH

I fish in a shallow lake that is full of weeds and gets down to around 10 feet, where can I look for walleye? I have caught walleye in the winter but never in the summer.
I fish walleye in simular lakes. Lots of luck with a Bucktail jigs, Black with a red stripe for some reason works well. Slow pull up through the weeds 2 ft, then drop down to the bottom,slow retrieval. Very finesse style fishing. Works for me. Best of luck.
