Mark Chestnutt had a great run in the late 80's as a traditional country artist. Too Cold at Home is a great song of his too. A great country singer with a lot of Nashville/ New York production! But that was what was happening at the time.
I love Mark Chesnutt. He doesn't sound like himself.I would love your reaction to Mark's song "Too Cold At Home" I don't know where so many 90's singers and groups went to. LIke McBride and the Ride "Treading On Sacred Ground"
Too Cold At Home is my favorite song that Mark does. ua-cam.com/video/h-Cvinp1-jU/v-deo.html . Just a side note, Mark and Joe Diffie were best friends and took Joe’s passing really tough, as we all did to a certain degree. There are a couple of videos out there of them singing together
Mark and another local boy Tracy Byrd both from Beaumont Texas, prior to their stardome, would appear at all the local dance halls where you could do the Texas Two Step all night long... great experience.
I think anyone that has been in a long term relationship can relate to these lyrics. It's not always blue skys and roses. Good rule for life, don't say the word divorce unless you truly meaning it. It's not a word to be casually used as a weapon in an argument. Makes me wonder how many couples have thrown out "goodbye" or "divorce" in the heat of the moment and not been able to walk it back when cooler thoughts prevailed. Love lyrics that make me contemplate life.
I had Clint Black's "It's Something That We Do" sung at my wedding, even though I know it isn't really traditional. The guy who sang it for me wasn't familiar with it so I had to find him the chords and the lyrics, and he later told me he was glad that my husband and I understood that marriage wasn't going to be all sunshine and daisies. We've always been very open communicators and are very aware that "goodbye" and "divorce" are never to be used as threats, we've seen too many of our friends' marriages break up over the years because of this.
Well I know one fool that through divorce out there without thinking he'd ever be served with divorce papers. I've learned from my mistakes. Be careful what you ask for..... You just might get it......
This song reminds me of when I was in high school. Not sure when this came out but it sounds like somthing we might have had on the radio as we were cruising down a graval road drinkin beer.
Thanks for keeping the "dirty" words PG rated tonight 👏😆 ❤️🐘❤️ Great song!! Mark Chestnut has always been fav! He gets on a personal level through his music and also in concert. I went to a 4 of his concerts, 2 of them were in rooms of less than 500 people, 1 was a very large venue, and 1 of less than 100 people. Him sitting there, playing and letting his fans pick the songs ... amazing!! Great Review!! 👌 ❤️🐘❤️ Brad Paisley - Waiting On A Woman Sugarland - Stay Conway Twitty/Loretta Lynn - You're The Reason Our Kids Are Ugly (😉😂)
Wow, memories. Used to see Mark at the Dancehalls in Houston. Mark was a George Jones discovery in Beaumont, Tx (close to the Louisiana border) The first thing George did was take Mark to the dentist and get his teeth fixed, got him a couple pairs of Wranglers and a new pair of ropers. The rest was history...he’s amazing. With the perfect song requirement...you can two step to it!
Ol' George almost put the boot to his *ss when Chestnutt did the Aerosmith cover. Mark did see the light and left his label after they insisted he do another "pop" cover. :-)
Mark Chestnutt is actually from Zwolle, La. His last name was Sepulvedo. His dad killed a man and was sent to prison. His stepdad adopted him. He is related to George Jones wife, Nancy Sepulvedo.
It’s a shame...this is not the best of Mark. This is a recent recording; fan made video from a recorder that sucks. Mark has gained a lot of weight and no longer has the chops he used too. I recommend you find his original videos. Age has affected his voice.
He's a great artist and singer, but just wasn't a good recording of him this time. He plays smaller venues now, and still sounds great. But as you said, time and weight gain slightly altered him. Definitely one to give a second listen to before counting him out. 😊
Hello Don. I'm Bob from England, a song you might like to try is Celia Brown by Freddy Weller, a good story song that starts off sad but ends up just fine for the young lady. Freddy Weller is not my favourite country singer by a long way but he does sing a couple of good songs, room 269 is another. Bob
When you have a minute would you do a reaction/rating on I'd Be A Legend in my Time by Ronnie Milsap please- would like to see what you think about that one -a long time since you were able to play one of my requests as I know how busy you are -still would also love to hear what you think of Eagles song Tenessee Waltz- not the popular TeneseeWaltz - their own one-I really like that song a lot - glad your Mam is ok pal- where do you stay now?xx
Is this recording recent? He sounds considerably older is why ask. I'd also like to say that sometimes the graininess adds some character...like, Patsy Cline, for me, has to be original or close to it. 🙂
He never had the best vocals in Country but this version sounds like a demo tape it karaoke. He sounds better on the album. Regardless, please react to his song I Just Wanted You To Know.
great lyrics in what should have been a good song to listen to but Mark C is singing offkey almost throughout the song and that grated on me - very bad for a famous singer like him - very surprised really but unless I have lost it -he was off key throughout - the title is good and I would have enjoyed it if the pitching had been right - sorry Don but have to speak what I think-good lyrics as you said palxxxx First time we dont agree on a singer I think -but thats what this is all about isnt it??????x
This actually sounds more like a live recording of him singing the song. He sounds a lot older too than he did on the original. This is definitely not the original 1993 recording.
@@jscountrygirl85_326 You're right, he did sing better on his original version. But for me, it wasn't just him being offkey that made me dislike the song. Its the Nashville pop sound they formulated into every one of their 90s country ballads. Kinda like the snap tracks they're force-feeding onto every song coming out now. Here's the link to the original: ua-cam.com/video/dHU1OS-RiZ0/v-deo.html Notice how many comments are from people proclaiming this is "real country". Its real "pop country" and should be acknowledged as just that.
This kind of music would CAUSE a divorce in my house! :-) Want to hear a real song to play for a young couple contemplating something more serious? Try some Ray Scott, "My Kind of Music".
Mary Moody it’s not, unfortunately. He said it’s from a 1993 album, which is true, but the album is Almost Goodbye, not the one he mentioned. It’s probably a re-recorded version from years later.
Check out his first hit - Too Cold at Home. The original video.

This is not the original version, his voice sounds worse to me in this version. I love the original.
I love Mark Chesnutt.

I don't know where so many 90's singers and groups went to.
LIke McBride and the Ride "Treading On Sacred Ground"
So glad you mentioned McBride & The Ride and the song "Sacred Ground." I love that song so much! That'd be another great one for Don to react to.
Mark Chesnutt - I'll Think of Something
Yes, my favorite song! You need to review this masterpiece.
A couple more Mark Chesnutt songs to check out are " Bubba shot the jukebox " and "It's a little too late"
And "When County Come to Town" :)
Too Cold At Home is great too

“Sometimes the most important words are the ones that you leave unspoken”………one of best lines ever written and sang
Absolutely glad I found your channel....my hats off to you....yet another awesome tune😊 Mark Chestnut was and will always be a favorite musician❤😊
And also his song Old Country
Mark Chesnutt , Your love is a Miracle
This song is very special to me, because it came out around the same time my mom and dad got a divorce. It's just an awesome classic.
Thanks again for another great reaction!!!, Another powerful song by Mark is "Thank God For Believers".

Mark Chesnutt "I'll think of something' his best work
You need to listen to his original recording of this. It's more powerful. I love it.
This song reminds me of when I was in high school. Not sure when this came out but it sounds like somthing we might have had on the radio as we were cruising down a graval road drinkin beer.
He has alot of good songs. She Was, Wherever You Are . Gonna Get a Life and Thank God for Believers arr just a few

I really like your reactions. You look tired so don't forget to rest. God Bless
Thanks, Ronny---yeah, I've been doing a to these days, but will be catching up on rest in the next few days. Thanks for looking out!
"Help Me Hold On" by Travis Tritt would have to be on that list. First line goes, " Baby, close that suitcase you've been packing."

Not true
Hey....please review: Kacey Musgraves - Are You Sure (Official Music Video) ft. Willie Nelson. I'm curious about your reaction. Keep on RockN2Country!
Just went and seen Mark Chestnutt,Joe Diffie and Neal Mccoy in concert they still sound good
It’s a shame...this is not the best of Mark. This is a recent recording; fan made video from a recorder that sucks. Mark has gained a lot of weight and no longer has the chops he used too. I recommend you find his original videos. Age has affected his voice.
Yep, age can be rough on the pipes! I used to sound like Trace Adkins and now I'm closer to an older Leonard Cohen!
He's a great artist and singer, but just wasn't a good recording of him this time. He plays smaller venues now, and still sounds great. But as you said, time and weight gain slightly altered him. Definitely one to give a second listen to before counting him out. 😊

"Broken Promised Land" is a great one from Mark!
I'll think of something by Mark Chesnutt or by Hank Williams jr. Both are good versions
Never heard Hank Jr's version. I'll go check it out thanks for the recommendation
More great 90’s country music
Thank you
Another great Mark Chesnutt song to check out would be, "Ol' Country" from his album, Longnecks and Short Stories.
Yes, you've heard him before.
You should check out some of Mark's humorous songs. Take a listen to " Neither Did I."

Paul cauthen reaction please nice one 👍🏼🙏🤠🔥🔥🔥
Try sleeping in the stars by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill please
This is a poorer quality than the original version. Mark Chestnut has several great songs. I'll think of something us one of my favorites.
wow , the original cut is a lot better.
Ryan Bingham Southside of heaven reaction.
Please
@@tomjames8761 Double please...(my wife's favorite song)

I thought that Miss Nancy's name was Sepulveda. Been wrong before.
Women do want to feel safe.
Sometimes it's best to cut your losses.
Bubba shot the jukebox was another one.
Shooter Jennings gunslinger

Ken mellons learning to live without you. Glad things are going good for you bud
Another old country singer Jack Greene song All The Time.

Another good one but doesn't sound like Mark Chesnutt
I know.... he has better songs than this one...like Don's view of the song

Sure is Monday
Kind of ironic, isn't it?
This doesn't sound like Mark Chesnutt.
I think it's a live version of him when he was older.
There's a better version of this
And this version is either a cover or an awful recording
