1. AHD stands for Analogue High Definition whiles IP stands for Internet protocol. 2. All AHD Cameras are Analogue cameras whiles IP Cameras are digital cameras 3. AHD Camera pictures or videos may vary between sharp pictures and bad pictures, just like the old Analogue tv system where your pictures could at time be clear and at other times very bad. For digital cameras, it is either extremely sharp in picture quality of off, there is not intermediary between purely clear pictures or off. This is the reason why digital signals are referred to as binary systems where you have either 1 or 0, where one connotes clear picture and 0 connotes off. I will do short video on this interesting explanations, watch out for that very soon.
There are two ways to it. 1. Being on the same local area network creates a common ground for the devices to work without the use of Internet. 2. If the devices are not connected to the same network (LAN), you will require internet to have them communicate. In such a case, you will need to use the cloud IDs of the devices keyed into the software to have them see or communicate together.
Thank younfor this detailed explanation. Do I need to station the computer hosting the vms there and how can I view these combined camera views on one TV screen and record using the NVR?
The computer can be placed anywhere that you find suitable. You can even place the computer at a remote location example is in this video ua-cam.com/video/5f8aWO_m_8M/v-deo.html For using a TV screen, just as you may use the TV as a monitor for your NVR, you can still use the TV as a monitor to the computer hosting the VMS. The recordings can be done onto the NVR whiles you also record on the computer too or however you wish to have it.
Hi, your video really helps me a lot thank you so much, I just have one question, may i know what's the name of the extension you are using that gives power and internet, the one that color black it seems that it is not a pv balun?
Thank you sir, but in this case i haven't heard you talking about the IP addresses, you have simply merged the cameras, does it mean they cant be viewed via WAN network?
The IP addresses are generated automatically by the router for each camera. Every IP camera acts just like any other device on a network. The cameras can be viewed on WAN once internet is available on the router. Please write back to me if i have not fully answered your questions.
If the dvr and nvr have different IPs, can it still work same way when you connect both to the router? Or the router itself will assign new IPs to them along with the laptop ?
The IP addresses of the DVR and the NVR will always be different so long as they are connected to the same router. You can let them acquire their own IP addresses by choosing DHCP on the NVR and DVR
Sir, please i want to know the reason why you connected the cable from the router to the uplink of NVR but not to the POE switch port of the NVR ? And also in a setup like this can you remotely view all the combined camaras via an app on your phone ? Thanks.
The router is serving as the network traffic manager and is able to very well distribute the traffic from the cameras, through the POE switch, to the NVR. You can watch this video for further explanation. ua-cam.com/video/jIwOPF0Ra7o/v-deo.html There is more on my channel www.youtube.com/@Tech_inside_out
I have a question sir, suppose you have several standalone cameras and you have to finnaly link them to the router but unfortunately the Rj45 ports on the router are not enough to wire them all, how do you handle such issue
Buddy, is the software VMS that you are using just for the brand of cameras that you're using or the same software will work for different cameras different making ?
There is a VMS for every brand of camera but once your brand is ONVIF Compliant, it should work with the Jovision VMS. However, compatible is a big issue when combining these technologies and so using products from thesame manufacturer is highly recommended.
Please can you recommend any institution which is located in Accra or Tema, where younger people like us can learn and practice how to install CCTV cameras.
@@Tech_Inside_Out Thank you sir for input. I need to start from scratch, requirement is to install one internet based camera at client location without DVR and recording needs to be saved at central location using internet. I would appreciate if you could suggest suitable camera brand, recorder along with surveillance software.
1. Connect your cameras to each NVR as you require. 2. Connect your screen to each NVR 3. Connect every NVR to a router. 4. Connect a Server/computer having a vms to the same router. 5. Setup your computer to receive all the cameras from all your NVRs or DVRs

Excellent, can I play the previous recordings through the vms software ?? Thanks once again
Yes, you can do that only when you do your recordings on the VMS too. You need to activate the recordings.
